Finishes season with 48 catches
Cook tallied four receptions on seven targets for 80 yards in Sunday's 35-32 overtime loss to the Raiders. The veteran tight end finished the 2021 campaign with 48 receptions for 564 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games.
Analysis: It's hard to say Cook disappointed in his first season with the Chargers considering he posted more receptions, receiving yards and 20-plus yard catches than his final year with the Saints, but he averaged only 11.8 yards per catch which marked a career low as a starter. Still, the 34-year-old was more or less able to fill the massive vacuum left by the departure of Hunter Henry. It'll be interesting to see what the team opts to do at tight end next season. Donald Parham quietly emerged as a…read more

Comes off COVID list
The Chargers activated Cook (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Cook is set to return to the lineup Sunday against the Raiders after missing the Chargers' Week 17 win over the Broncos, a game in which Tre' McKitty and Stephen Anderson shared the team's tight-end duties. Through 15 games to date, Cook is averaging 2.9 catches (on 5.1 targets) for 32.3 receiving yards to go along with four touchdowns.

Set to come off COVID list
Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said Wednesday that Cook (illness) is in line to come off the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Los Angeles will likely make the transaction official later Wednesday or Thursday, setting the stage for Cook to return to action for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Raiders. While Cook was out for the Week 17 win over the Broncos, Tre' McKitty and Stephen Anderson shared snaps at tight end and combined to draw four targets. Cook should step back into the starting role now once he's formally activated.

Still on COVID list
Cook (illness) remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's game against Broncos, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Until Cook clears the NFL's COVID protocols, the Chargers will rely on Stephen Anderson, Tre' McKitty and Hunter Kampmoyer to handle the team's tight end duties, with Cook's top backup for most of the season, Donald Parham (concussion), on injured reserve.

Looks set to miss Week 17
Cook isn't expected to play Sunday against the Broncos after the Chargers placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday following a positive test for the virus, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Even if vaccinated, Cook will have a minimal chance to clear the NFL's COVID-19 return-to-play protocol before Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, so the Chargers and fantasy managers alike should proceed as though he won't be available Week 17. He's one of 10 members of Los Angeles' 53-man roster that is on the list as Sunday's game approaches, though the Chargers at least received some reinforcement for the passing attack when wideouts Mike Williams and Jalen Guyton were activated from the list…read more

In line to land on COVID list
Cooks (undisclosed) is in line to land on the reserve/COVID-19 list, per Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times.
Analysis: Once the move is made official, Cook will be unavailable to play until he clears the NFL's COVID protocols. Heading into Sunday's game against the Broncos, Stephen Anderson and Tre' McKitty are the Chargers' top available tight ends.

Totals 44 yards in loss
Cook caught three of five targets for 44 yards during Sunday's 41-29 loss to the Texans. He also secured a successful two-point conversion.
Analysis: It was another modest showing from Cook, who hasn't exceeded three receptions or 45 receiving yards since Week 9. Overall he has 44 catches for 484 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games this season, making his fantasy outlook mostly dependent on reaching the end zone.

Drops easy TD
Cook recorded three receptions (on seven targets) and 32 yards in Thursday's 34-28 overtime loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Cook saw a slight bump in playing time after Donald Parham left early in the game with a serious head injury, but the extra snaps didn't amount to much. The veteran tight end had a blunder mid-way through the second quarter, failing to bring in an easy short-yardage bubble screen on fourth-and-one which surely would have resulted in a touchdown. It's been that kind of season for the 34-year-old who is currently on pace for five-year lows in both receiving yards and touchdowns despite a healthy…read more

Cleared for Thursday
Cook (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against Kansas City.
Analysis: In addition to Cook, fellow tight end Donald Parham (knee) also avoided a designation for Week 15 after both were listed as full participants at Friday's practice. While playing 31 of the Chargers' 71 snaps on offense in last weekend's win over the Giants, Cook caught two of his five targets for eight yards and a touchdown. Through 13 contests overall, he's averaging 2.9 catches (on 4.9 targets) for 31.4 yards to go along with four receiving scores.

Increases activity Tuesday
Cook (quadriceps) was listed as a limited participant at Tuesday's walkthrough.
Analysis: Cook was estimated to have no activity if the Chargers had held practice Monday, so his return in some capacity one day later is a good sign as the team prepares to take on AFC West-leading Kansas City on Thursday. The same can be said for Donald Parham (heel) -- DNP on Monday, LP on Tuesday -- meaning L.A. is closing in on having its top two tight ends available for Week 15 action.

Listed with quad injury on practice estimate
Cook (quad) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.
Analysis: Cook logged 31 of a possible 71 snaps on offense in Sunday's win over the Giants, and in the process he caught two of his five targets for eight yards and a one-yard TD. Fellow tight end Donald Parham (knee) also logged a listed 'DNP' on Monday, so the duo's status is worth tracking as Thursday night's game against Kansas City approaches.

Scores short touchdown
Cook caught two passes for eight yards and one touchdown on five targets against the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: The touchdown provided a modicum of respectability to Cook's box score, but it was mostly another inefficient showing from Cook, who is at once an aged veteran and an inconsistent technician. Rather than Cook stepping up in the absence of lead target Keenan Allen (COVID), it was WR3 Jalen Guyton and rookie Josh Palmer who stepped up in the Chargers' pass-catching rotation. Cook should remain the Chargers' TE1 through the rest of the year, but understudies Donald Parham and Stephen Anderson…read more

Tallies 29 yards in win
Cook caught three of four targets for 29 yards during Sunday's 41-22 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Cook was limited to his fourth straight game with under 30 receiving yards and has managed only three above that threshold all season. The Chargers have relied on Austin Ekeler and other options to cover goal-line opportunities instead of forcing the ball to Cook, which has hampered his fantasy value significantly. Drops have also been an issue for the tight end all season (61 percent catch rate), and as a result, younger backup Donald Parham has seen additional usage. With a low receiving…read more

Scores TD in loss
Cook snared two of his five targets for 25 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Sunday marked Cook's first touchdown since Week 6 and just his second red-zone target over that stretch as the Chargers have largely utilized Donald Parham and Austin Ekeler near the goal line. The veteran has been a safety net at times for quarterback Justin Herbert, but his meager targets week to week make for inconsistent fantasy value.

Posts 28 yards in win
Cook caught three of his five targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 41-37 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: As the veteran tight end continues to age, his fantasy production has significantly decreased. Cook has yet to record more than 70 yards receiving in a game this season and he's been limited to only two touchdowns. The 34-year-old was only on the field for 50 percent of snaps, as young tight end Donald Parham continues to see more usage. With the amount of offensive weapons on the Chargers, Cook's fantasy value certainly seems to fluctuate week to week.

One catch in loss
Cook caught one of three targets for 10 yards during Sunday's 27-20 loss against the Vikings.
Analysis: Cook recorded season lows in targets and receiving yards as Justin Herbert struggled to move the ball against the Minnesota secondary. Cook has functioned as an experienced tight end option for Herbert, but he has also struggled with drops (only a 62.2 percent catch rate on the year). Moving forward, Cook figures to remain an unreliable fantasy tight end who is stuck behind a number of other pass catchers.

More work in win
Cook caught all four of his targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Eagles. He also caught a two-point conversion.
Analysis: The veteran tight end saw the entirety of his work come in the first half as the Chargers leaned heavily on Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler to salt away the win. While Cook hasn't seen a substantial workload, he has turned into a comfortable target for Justin Herbert when he's been called upon. That hasn't translated into red-zone looks, but it's put the 34-year-old Cook on pace to surpass his figures during his final season with the Saints.

Struggles in loss
Cook totaled two receptions for 25 yards on five targets during Sunday's 27-24 loss against the Patriots.
Analysis: Cook struggled against the Patriots and managed to command only five targets from quarterback Justin Herbert. Cook was left out of the mix as Herbert primarily relied on Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler to move the ball. Late in the fourth quarter, Cook was the intended receiver on a pass that was picked off and returned for a touchdown on an obvious route miscommunication. Finds end zone in Week 6 loss
Cook caught four of seven targets for 25 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Cook actually tied with running back Austin Ekeler for the team lead in targets, as quarterback Justin Herbert had no luck pushing the ball downfield. The veteran tight end scored all of Los Angeles' points with a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Cook totaled 16 touchdowns over the previous two seasons with the Saints and now has two heading into the Chargers' Week 7 bye.

Only one catch in win
Cook caught one of three targets for 29 yards in Sunday's thrilling 47-42 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: Cook's lone catch was nearly a big one as the veteran tight end almost had the go-ahead score only to be tripped up near the goal line. Positional teammate Donald Parham actually recorded more catches (two) and yards (29), but the 6-foot-8 Parham was primarily utilized as a red-zone threat whereas Cook was the option between the 20s. Its certainly frustrating to see the 34-year-old essentially held in check despite a barrage of Chargers points, but given the offensive volume on a week-to-week…read more

Scores in victory
Cook caught six of seven targets for 70 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 28-14 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Cook enjoyed his best performance through four games as a Charger, leading the team in receiving yards while posting a new high in catches. The veteran also scored for the first time this season, hauling in a 10-yarder in the back of the end zone during the second quarter. Although starting wideout Mike Williams being limited to one catch resulted in Cook being used more than usual, his performance Monday puts his stock in a good place ahead of a tough Week 5 matchup against the Browns.

Musters up 27 yards
Cook recorded two receptions on three targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: Cook has now produced 10 receptions for 111 yards and no touchdowns through three contests. The 34-year-old received 15 red-zone targets last season and scored seven times. So far this year, he has three red-zone targets. Cook has touchdown upside on a weekly basis as a result.

Little production in loss
Cook caught three of his five targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Cook saw the fourth-most targets on the team, but he didn't do much with the looks. The veteran tight end could have salvaged his day with what appeared to be the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter, but an illegal shift negated the touchdown. Stephen Anderson (two catches, nine yards) and Donald Parham (36-yard touchdown called back on a penalty) did next to nothing in this contest, confirming Cook as the obvious tight end to roster in an explosive offense through two weeks.

Five catches in opener
Cook logged 47 of a possible 81 snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-16 win over Washington.
Analysis: In the process, Cook caught five of his eight targets for 56 yards. While fellow tight end Donald Parham was on the field for 41 snaps, he failed to haul in his only target and Stephen Anderson turned his 20 snaps into one catch (on two targets) for one yard. With Hunter Henry no longer in the mix, it's pretty clear that Cook is the Chargers' top pass catcher at his position, a context that gives him a decent weekly fantasy floor in the team's Justin Herbert-helmed offense.

Improving connection with QB
Cook is already gaining a "solid rapport" with quarterback Justin Herbert throughout the early portions of training camp, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The veteran tight end was one of the Chargers' few notable offseason additions, but the early returns at least appear to be promising, as he and Herbert hooked up on a couple of passes throughout practice. Cook is expected to get plenty of time off throughout training camp heading into the regular season, so much so that the 34-year-old likely will play sparingly in the team's three preseason games, if he makes an appearance at all.

Replacing Hunter Henry in L.A.
Cook is signing a one-year contract with the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The deal has a maximum value of $6 million, so the cap hit presumably will be less than that. Cook likely will be the passing-down replacement for Hunter Henry, who played 87 percent of the Chargers' offensive snaps in his 14 games last season. Cook wasn't too far from that type of workload in his two seasons with the Raiders (2017-18), but his snap share dipped to 55 percent and then 46 percent in two years for the Saints. Time up in New Orleans
The Saints terminated Cook's contract Wednesday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Cook was bound for free agency this offseason regardless, so cutting him now simply allows the veteran tight end to immediately begin his search for a new home. The 33-year-old had somewhat of a down year in 2020 with a modest 37 catches for 504 yards -- his lowest totals since 2016 -- but he remained effective in the red zone (seven touchdowns). His departure leaves 2020 third-round pick Adam Trautman as the top option on the depth chart for the time being.

Disastrous performance in loss
Cook caught five of seven targets for 28 yards in the Saints' 30-20 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: His final numbers in the box score were nothing to write home about, but his performance on the field was far more disastrous. Cook was the source of two turnovers in this one, fumbling once and letting one of his seven targets bounce off him for a Tampa Bay interception. Set for free agency this year, it's unclear if Cook will be back in New Orleans, especially given the third-round pick the team spent on Adam Trautman in 2020. Good to go Sunday
Cook (back) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's playoff game against the Buccaneers after logging a full practice Friday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Cook was listed as limited Wednesday and Thursday, but his return to a full session Friday paves the way for the Saints' top tight end to handle his usual role in Sunday's divisional-round game. In the team's wild-card win over the Bears last weekend, Cook caught four passes on seven targets for 40 yards.

Cook (back) remained limited Thursday at practice, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Cook showed no sign of any problem in the wild-card win over Chicago, catching four passes for 40 yards on a team-high seven targets. He should be ready for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, though it's possible the Saints list their top tight end on the Friday injury report.

Limited by back injury
Cook was limited at Wednesday's practice with a back injury, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Cook has logged at least 48 percent of the offensive snaps in four of the last five games, during which he accumulated 16 catches (on 25 targets) for 231 yards and touchdowns. That amounts to a healthy 9.2 yards per target, but now a back issue is affecting his practice reps. Four receptions in Sunday's win
Cook corralled four of seven targets for 40 yards in the Saints' 21-9 win over the Bears on Sunday.
Analysis: Cook tied for team lead in targets, but he was only able to turn them into a scoreless 4-40 receiving line. He's remained involved in the offensive game plan of late, but if Cook isn't scoring, he's typically not doing enough to provide more than middling production for fantasy managers. He'll look to improve on this performance next week against Tampa Bay.

Scores seventh TD in victory
Cook caught four of five targets for 43 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 33-7 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Cook finished second on the team in targets and receptions while finishing third in receiving yardage. He got the scoring started with an 18-yard touchdown in the first quarter, taking his impressive total to seven for the season. Cook also finishes the campaign with a modest 37 receptions and 504 yards but could take on a more critical role in the wild-card matchup against the Bears, who have been tough on opposing wideouts but susceptible to tight ends.

Cook brought in three of four targets for 82 yards in the Saints' 52-33 win over the Vikings on Friday.

Cook's 44-yard reception early in the fourth quarter was notably the longest of the game for either team and helped set up Alvin Kamara's fifth touchdown of the contest. Scoring streak snapped
Cook secured two of five targets for 29 yards in the Saints' 32-29 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Analysis: Cook's scoring streak came to an end after two games, and without the score, his day was noticeably disappointing. In stark contrast to his 2019 late-season surge, Cook is on the decline as the 2020 season wanes. He hasn't logged more than three receptions or 37 receiving yards since Week 8, and his fantasy value is highly dependent on scoring. Analysis: The 33-year-old entered Sunday's divisional tilt amidst a dramatic production slump, having posted just one total catch for six yards over his three preceding outings. Cook was held to 30 or fewer receiving yards for a fifth consecutive outing during Week 13, but a second-quarter TD at least gave him a respectable fantasy day among tight ends. Cook caught his only target for six yards in the Saints' 24-9 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: The disappointing performance was Cook's third straight dud, as he's now gone just 3-36-0 combined across his last three contests. The matchup with Atlanta seemed like a get-right spot, but a bounceback performance failed to materialize, perhaps due to Taysom Hill being under center instead of Drew Brees (ribs). Cook failed to bring in either of his targets in the Saints' 27-13 win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Analysis: New Orleans' passing game was a mess all afternoon, with Drew Brees failing to get much going in the first half and Jameis Winston not faring any better in the second. Cook caught two of three targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 30-27 overtime win against the Chargers.
Analysis: Cook returned from a groin injury to make a huge play Monday, hauling in a 41-yard touchdown to tie the game in the fourth quarter. Although the tight end only caught one other pass, Cook will be pleased by his contribution to his team's victory, and he will now embark on New Orleans' bye week to rest up ahead of Week 7's matchup versus Carolina.

Suiting up Monday
Cook (groin) is active for Monday's contest against the Chargers, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Cook sustained a groin injury Week 3 and didn't practice before he was ruled out for a Week 4 visit to Detroit. With a bit more time to prepare for Week 5, he was listed as a limited participant on all three injury reports before receiving a 'questionable' tag for this game. Now deemed available to the Saints, Cook may be in line for a significant target count with Michael Thomas (ankle/coach's decision) still sidelined. Cook will look to produce against an L.A. defense that has conceded 7.3…read more

Seemingly available for Monday
Cook (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Chargers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Cook participated in practice in a limited fashion all week so it seems likely the veteran should be able to return to the field Monday. That thought process was reinforced by Katherine Terrell of The Athletic, although fantasy mangers likely won't know Cook's status for certain until closer to the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Expect Adam Trautman and Josh Hill to fill the void should Cook surprisingly be listed as inactive for the contest.

Remains limited in practice
Cook (groin) was a limited practice participant Friday, Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Cook has now logged back-to-back limited sessions after sitting out entirely last week. It's a sign of progress, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be ready for Monday's game against the Chargers. The Saints will release their final injury report Saturday.

Limited in return to practice
Cook (groin) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Analysis: Cook suffered a groin injury Week 3 against the Packers and didn't practice before the Saints ruled him out for this past Sunday's game at Detroit. Now back on the field, he'll set his sights on returning to action Monday versus the Chargers. To help his cause, Cook would do well to practice in full Friday and/or Saturday.

Ruled out for Week 4
Cook (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Analysis: Cook wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week after exiting in the third quarter of a loss to the Packers on Sunday night. Rookie tight end Adam Trautman played each of the Saints' 12 offensive snaps in the fourth quarter of that game, finishing with two catches for 17 yards on two targets. Veteran tight end Josh Hill could also pick up some of the vacated snaps, but Trautman looks like the better bet to be involved in the passing game. The Saints also ruled out WR Michael Thomas…read more

Misses another practice
Cook (groin) isn't practicing Friday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Cook was removed early from Sunday's loss to the Packers and now has been held out of practice all week. He doesn't seem likely to play in Sunday's game against the Lions, pending the final injury report.

Not practicing again
Cook (groin) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Since he's been sidelined for two practices in a row, Cook will likely need to practice on at least a limited basis Friday just to take a questionable designation into Sunday's game against the Lions. If Cook is forced to sit out the Week 4 matchup, Adam Trautman will take on an enhanced role as the Saints' top pass-catching tight end.

Missing Wednesday's practice
Cook (groin) isn't practicing Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Cook was forced out of Sunday's loss to the Packers due to the injury, and he doesn't appear to have made much progress in his recovery a few days later. When the Saints officially release Wednesday's practice report, an official word on the starting tight end's designation will be provided. For the time being, Adam Trautman is the only healthy tight end on New Orleans' roster.

Heads to locker room with limp
Cook came up noticeably limping after a catch in the second half of Sunday's game against the Packers and was taken to the locker room, Amie Just of NOLA.com reports.
Analysis: It looked like a groin injury for Cook. His return should be considered questionable. Cook had two catches for 21 yards at the time of his exit.

Hauls in touchdown
Cook caught two of five targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 34-24 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Cook extended New Orleans' first-half lead with a six-yard touchdown on third down during the second quarter. While the tight end used his body well to make that grab, Cook didn't haul in another pass until the Saints' final drive of the game. At that point, the team's struggles without Michael Thomas in the passing game were pronounced, with Tre'Quan Smith the only one to really capitalize on his absence outside of the always-involved Alvin Kamara. Strong performance in Week 1
Cook caught five of seven targets for a team-high 80 yards in Sunday's 34-23 win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: The tight end's longest gain of the day came on a rare downfield throw by Drew Brees, as the quarterback found Cook down the left sideline for a 46-yard pass early in the fourth quarter that set up the Saints' final TD. Cook is coming off a season in which he scored nine touchdowns and averaged 10.8 yards per target, both career highs, and he remains a key part of the New Orleans passing game heading into a Week 2 road tilt against the Raiders.

Hopes to build on 2019 success
Cook said that he hopes to improve upon last season's success and make corrections, John DeShazier of NewOrleansSaints.com reports. "There are still some plays on the film that haunt me and of course, we're still going back over those plays, and running through them, but they're still plays that haunt me that I still wish I could have back," Cook said, "So it's still, you know, learning from those, talking through them, getting the report, getting on the same page."
Analysis: Cook had a productive first season in the Big Easy, earning a Pro Bowl nod thanks to a 43/705/9 receiving line. He was particularly effective down the stretch, racking up 537 yards and seven scores from Weeks 10-17. The veteran tight end is optimistic he can be even better in 2020, adding "And, you know, hopefully this season will be a lot different, being that me and Drew do have a full season together and more time. Catches five passes in loss
Cook brought in all five of his targets for 54 yards in the Saints' 26-20 overtime wild-card loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: As expected, Cook was one of Drew Brees' primary targets in Sunday's loss, though he failed to find the end zone or break off any long gainers. The South Carolina product will head into his 12th year looking to build on a highly productive first season with New Orleans that saw him grab a career-high nine touchdowns.

Scores in victory
Cook brought in both of his targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 42-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Cook added yet another touchdown to his 2019 campaign, bringing his season total to a career-high nine. In his first year with New Orleans, the 11-year vet racked up 705 yards on 43 receptions, good for 16.4 yards per catch -- a career high. Hangs pair of scores on former team
Cook corralled three of four targets for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints' 38-28 win over the Titans on Sunday.
Analysis: Cook crushed his former team with a pair of scores and a healthy receiving total Sunday, adding to his late-season charge and setting a new career high in touchdowns. In nine games played since Week 5, Cook has racked up 33 receptions for 571 yards and eight touchdowns, establishing himself as a weekly top-12 play at his position. Cook will have one more shot to add to his touchdown total when the Saints travel to Carolina in Week 17.

Catches four passes in win
Cook brought in all four of his targets for 54 yards in the Saints' 34-7 win over the Colts on Monday.
Analysis: Though he didn't reach the end zone, Cook produced a solid receiving line in Monday's demolition of the Colts. Cook has seen his receptions and receiving yards diminish significantly from his big 2018 campaign in Oakland, though he's already matched his season high in touchdowns (six) with two games left on the schedule -- including a Week 16 meeting with another of his former teams, the Titans.

Does not carry injury status
Cook (concussion) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's contest against the Colts, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
Analysis: This echoes the information head coach Sean Payton provided earlier in the afternoon, all but confirming Cook's availability for the prime-time affair. Following the team's Week 9 bye, Cook has been one of the Saints' leading weapons, tallying 19 receptions, 355 yards and four touchdowns over the five-game stretch.

Expected to play
Cook (concussion) is expected to play Monday against the Colts, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: While the Saints have yet to release their final injury report, it seems likely Cook will either earn a questionable tag or be cleared outright, as head coach Sean Payton seemed nearly certain his tight end would be available. Considering Cook was able to fully practice Friday, barring an extreme setback it seems likely the 32-year-old will be available Monday.

Upgrades to full practice
Cook (concussion) was a full participant in practice Friday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Cook took a step forward from Thursday's limited practice, upgrading to full participation just five days after he suffered a concussion in Sunday's 48-46 loss to the 49ers. The tight end will have an extra day to exit the concussion protocol before his Week 15 matchup, with the Saints hosting the Colts on Monday. Starts week with limited practice
Cook (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's the best the Saints could have hoped for after the tight end suffered a head injury during last week's 48-46 loss to the 49ers. Cook has already taken a big step toward getting back on the field, and he'll have an extra day to recover as the Saints prepare for a Monday matchup with the Colts. That said, there's never any guarantee when it comes to the timeline for recovering from a concussion.

Sustains concussion Sunday
Cook suffered a concussion during Sunday's contest against the 49ers, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: On his second touchdown catch of the first quarter, Cook took a hit to the head from San Francisco cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. Cook made a brief visit to the sideline tent and then went to the locker room, after which the concussion was confirmed. While Cook will be subject to the protocol for head injuries in order to be cleared for game action, the Saints are down to one TE (Josh Hill) on the 53-man roster.

Under evaluation for head injury
Cook is under evaluation for a concussion suffered during Sunday's game against the 49ers, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Cook recorded touchdown grabs on both of the Saints' first two drives, but on the second occasion, he took a hit to the head from 49ers cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. If he's eventually diagnosed with a concussion, the Saints will be left with just one healthy TE (Josh Hill) on the game-day roster.

Leads team in receiving
Cook caught three of six targets for 85 yards in the Saints' 26-18 win over the Falcons on Thursday.
Analysis: The day could have been even bigger had he not dropped a would-be touchdown in the end zone. Despite the miscue, Cook paced the team in receiving yards and had another solid game. His late-season surge continues, as Cook has now averaged 73 yards over his past four contests, including two touchdowns in that span. Even against a tough 49ers defense, Cook looks like a solid fantasy option in Week 14.

Continues midseason surge
Cook caught six of eight targets for 99 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-31 win against the Panthers.
Analysis: The 32-year-old tight end finds himself amid a midseason renaissance, having accounted for 70-plus receiving yards or a touchdown in five consecutive games. Cook got off to an ice-cold start to the season with eight combined catches for 90 yards and zero touchdowns Weeks 1 through 4, but as the campaign has progressed, he's seen a higher percentage of offensive opportunities -- as exhibited by his per-game target share enhancing to 5.8 over his past six games, compared to just four targets per…read more

Makes touchdown grab in Week 11 win
Cook secured both of his targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 34-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: Cook came down with a hard-fought three-yard touchdown reception just past the midway point of the second quarter, his third score of the season. The veteran tight end has notched all of them in the last four games, so he's seemingly carving out more of a niche in the offense as the season unfolds. Cook remains a solid complementary target in the Saints' passing attack heading into a Week 12 divisional battle against the Panthers.

Targeted 10 times in Week 10 loss
Cook recorded six catches for 74 receiving yards on 10 targets during Sunday's 26-9 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Returning from an ankle injury that withheld him from New Orleans' games against Chicago and Arizona prior to the Week 9 bye, Cook resumed his recent streak of fantasy utility. Since averaging a meager two catches and 22.5 receiving yards per game between Weeks 1 and 4, Cook has logged more than four receptions and 50 receiving yards per game over his past three games, with both of his touchdown scores on the year coming during that span. No limitations in practice
Cook (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Cook missed New Orleans' last two contests, but he appears to have managed a full recovery during the team's bye. The veteran tight end stands to reclaim his starting role Sunday versus the Falcons. Given that Cook has yet to surpass 50 receiving yards in a game this season and has only scored twice, he won't be easy to trust for fantasy purposes despite a favorable matchup.
