Lands on IR
The Chiefs placed Shrader (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: Shrader is thus slated to miss at least four games, but by the time he's first eligible for activation Week 18, the Chiefs could get Harrison Butker (knee) back from IR. While Butker remains out through at least this Sunday's game against the Chargers, however, the Chiefs will turn to Matthew Wright to handle kicking duties after signing him off the practice squad. Shrader has kicked in four games this season -- two for the Chiefs, one for the Jets and one for the Colts -- and has converted on…read more

Ruled out for Friday
Shrader (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's Week 13 matchup against Las Vegas.
Analysis: Shrader wasn't able to practice at all this week due to a hamstring injury that occurred during a private workout Monday. The rookie took over kicking duties from the injured Harrison Butker (knee) for Kansas City in Week 11 and converted all three of his field-goal tries and all six of his extra-point attempts over two contests. With Shrader ruled out Friday, Kansas City elevated Matthew Wright from its practice squad to kick against the Raiders.

Sidelined for practice
Shrader (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Shrader has now logged consecutive absences to begin Week 13 prep after injuring his hamstring in a private workout Monday, so he looks to be trending toward missing Friday's matchup against the Raiders. The Notre Dame product has performed well while filling in for the injured Harrison Butker (knee) over the last two games, converting all three of his field-goal attempts and all six of his extra-point tries. Kansas City added Matthew Wright to its practice squad Tuesday, so he's expected to…read more

Misses practice with hamstring injury
Shrader didn't practice Tuesday due to a right hamstring injury, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: According to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, Shrader injured his hamstring in a private workout Monday. After being signed off the Jets' practice squad earlier this month, Shrader has handled kicking duties for Kansas City in place of the injured Harrison Butker (knee) for the past two games, converting on all nine of his kicks (six extra-point attempts, three field-goal tries). With the hamstring injury now putting Shrader's status in question for Friday's game against the Raiders, the…read more

Perfect in close win
Shrader made all of his three field-goal tries and converted all of his three extra-point attempts during Sunday's 30-27 win at Carolina.
Analysis: Among Shrader's field goals in Week 12 was a 31-yarder as time expired to win the game for the Chiefs. He hasn't missed a kick since he took over at the position for Kansas City in Week 11, and he'll be looking to build on his success in Week 13 versus the Raiders.

Doesn't attempt field goal Sunday
Shrader did not have any field-goal tries but converted all three of his extra-point attempts during Sunday's 30-21 loss at Buffalo.
Analysis: Shrader wasn't asked to do much in his debut with the Chiefs, but he wasn't one of the reasons they suffered their first loss of the season in Week 11. Kansas City will travel to take on Carolina in Week 12.

To handle kicking duties moving forward
Coach Andy Reid said Shrader will handle all kicking duties for the Chiefs during Harrison Butker's (knee) absence, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports.
Analysis: Butker underwent surgery on the meniscus in his left knee Friday, resulting in his placement on injured reserve. As such, he'll miss at least four games during his recovery, a stretch that will allow Shrader to be the team's regular placekicker. Shrader has appeared in two games as a fill-in for the Colts and Jets this season, connecting on both field-goal attempts and all three point-after tries.

Filling in for injured Butker
The Chiefs are expected to sign Shrader off the Jets' practice squad Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: With Harrison Butker suffering a left knee injury that will likely result in his placement on injured reserve, Shrader is poised to take over as Kansas City's kicker beginning with Sunday's game against the Bills. An undrafted rookie out of Notre Dame, Shrader has previously made one appearance apiece for the Colts and the Jets this season, converting on field-goal attempts for 45 and 25 yards while going 3-for-3 on extra-point tries. During his five-year collegiate career, Shrader knocked down…read more

Moves back to practice squad
Shrader reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: With Greg Zuerlein (knee) on injured reserve, Shrader was the second kicker in as many games to get a chance, taking over for the the cut Riley Patterson in Week 10 at Arizona. Shrader connected on both of his field-goal attempts but didn't get a PAT. He's one of two kickers on the Jets' practice squad -- also, Anders Carlson -- but considering Shrader got the call this week, he likely has better odds to do so again this coming Sunday against the Colts.

Handling kicking duties in Week 10
The Jets elevated Shrader from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus Arizona, John Pullano of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Shrader's elevation Saturday confirms that he will work as the Jets' placekicker Sunday. After being signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in May, Shrader served as Indianapolis' kicker Week 1, making all three of his extra-point tries and not attempting any field goals. The Notre Dame product was eventually cut loose once Matt Gay returned to full health for the Colts, then landed with New York's practice squad Oct. 30. He'll now get the opportunity to kick in his second NFL game as a…read more

Headed to Big Apple
Shrader signed with the Jets' practice squad Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Shrader signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent in the spring and, due to a Matt Gay injury, he was their Week 1 kicker. He made all three PATs but didn't attempt a field goal. Since then, he has bounced off and on the team's practice squad. He'll now spend Wednesday competing with Riley Patterson to see who will kick for the Jets on Thursday against the Texans, as Greg Zuerlein (knee) is not expected to play.

Back with Indianapolis
Shrader signed with the Colts' practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Shrader has been cut and re-signed to the Colts' practice squad multiple times this season. It won't be surprising if this continues to happen in future weeks unless Matt Gay suffers another injury, in which case Shrader would likely move to the active roster.

Cut from practice squad
The Colts cut Shrader from the practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Shrader has bounced on and off Indianapolis' practice squad multiple times this season, and he's now been let go to make room for running back Salvon Ahmed. While filling in for an injured Matt Gay in Week 1, Shrader converted all three of his extra-point tries. It won't be surprising if he resurfaces with the Colts in some capacity again this year.

Back with Colts' practice squad
Indianapolis signed Shrader to its practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Shrader was cut from the Colts' practice squad less than a week ago, but he's now back on board after clearing waivers. As long as Matt Gay is available, it's not likely Shrader will be suiting up for game action any time soon.

Let go by Colts
Shrader was cut from the Colts' practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Shrader re-signed with the practice squad in Indianapolis on Monday after being let go by the team earlier in the year, but he'll now once again look for another opportunity elsewhere. The kicker went 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts in Week 1 against the Texans while filling in for an injured Matt Gay with the Colts.

Joins Colts' practice squad
The Colts signed Shrader to their practice squad Monday.
Analysis: The Notre Dame product filled in for the injured Matt Gay in Indianapolis' Week 1 loss to the Texans and made all three of his point-after tries. Shrader then reverted to the Colts' practice squad and was waived shortly after, but it now appears the team has had a change of heart. He could be elevated to Indianapolis' active roster if Gay deals with any further injuries this season.

Reverts to practice squad
Shrader reverted to Indianapolis' practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Shrader converted on all three of his extra-point attempts Sunday while filling in for Matt Gay (sports hernia) as the Colts' starting kicker. If Gay ends up being unable to play versus the Packers in Week 2, Shrader could be elevated once again.

Doesn't attempt field goal Sunday
Shrader converted all three of his extra-point tries but did not attempt a field goal in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Texans.
Analysis: Matt Gay (hernia) was unable to practice leading up to Week 1, which prompted the Colts to promote Shrader from the practice squad. Shrader didn't end up attempting a field goal in Sunday's loss, though he was perfect on all of his extra-point attempts. Shrader will likely be elevated to the active roster for Week 2 against the Packers if Gay is unable to participate in practice.

Set for kicking duties
Shrader is in line to assume kicking duties for the Colts in Week 1 against the Texans after Matt Gay (hernia) was declared inactive.
Analysis: Shrader was called up from the practice squad Saturday, and the rookie out of Notre Dame will now make his NFL debut. During his fifth collegiate season with the Irish, Shrader converted on 15 of 22 field-goal attempts and 61 of 62 extra points. While the accuracy wasn't tremendous, he did connect on four kicks of 50-plus yards that season.

Added to active roster
The Colts elevated Shrader from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against Houston.
Analysis: Matt Gay missed practice all week after undergoing surgery on a sports hernia following Indianapolis' last preseason game Aug. 22. Shrader's promotion would appear to indicate Gay won't be available Sunday, but official word on the Colts' plans at kicker won't be available until the team announces its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Staying in Indianapolis
Shrader signed with the Colts' practice squad Thursday.
Analysis: Shrader was facing an uphill battle to beat out Matt Gay for the team's kicker job, but he did manage to earn a spot on the practice squad. An undrafted free agent out of USF, Shrader will likely have a chance to be promoted to the active roster if Gay gets injured.

Let go by Indianapolis
The Colts waived Shrader on Sunday.
Analysis: Shrader signed with the Colts in May as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. He was brought in to compete against Matt Gay for the starting kicking job, and Shrader finished the preseason making both of his field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries. Shrader should catch onto another team's practice squad if he clear waivers.
