Xavier Worthy has recorded a 22.3% target rate over the last five weeks, a 5.2% increase from his target rate through the first 10 weeks of the season.
Updated Tue, Dec 17 at 2:19pm -
Solid with nine touches Sunday
Worthy brought in six of 11 targets for 46 yards and rushed three times for 30 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 21-7 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: The Chiefs made a concerted effort to get the ball into Worthy's hands throughout the afternoon, with the rookie finishing with team-high totals in receptions, receiving yards and targets while also checking in third in rushing yards. Worthy also posted his third rushing touchdown of his career on a 21-yard run early in the second half, and his catch total was a new career high. Worthy has flashed a solid floor of late, as he'll head into a Week 16 home matchup against the Texans on Saturday…read more

Key catch on game-winning drive
Worthy caught five of six targets for 41 yards and added a five-yard run in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Worthy made one of the game's biggest plays down the stretch, converting on third-and-10 with a 14-yard catch to extend a drive that culminated in Matthew Wright's game-winning 31-yard field goal. The rookie speedster has exceeded 40 receiving yards in four consecutive games after reaching that threshold only twice in his first nine appearances. Worthy will look to extend that streak in Week 15 against the Browns.

Catches five balls in Week 13 win
Worthy recorded five catches on seven targets for 54 yards in Friday's 19-17 win against the Raiders.
Analysis: Worthy drew the third-most targets (seven) from Patrick Mahomes, behind Travis Kelce (13) and DeAndre Hopkins (nine). He also ranked second in catches (five) and fourth in receiving yards (54) among the team's pass catchers. Worthy's reception total was a season high, and his yardage total was his third-most of the campaign. After fading during Hopkins' first three games with the club, Worthy has gotten back on track over the past three weeks, recording at least four catches and at least 46…read more

Tallies 51 yards from scrimmage
Worthy recorded four receptions on six targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers. He added one rush for five yards.
Analysis: Worthy finished second on the team with six targets, his highest mark since Week 8. However, he continued to struggle to connect with Patrick Mahomes on deep targets, as three of his four catches went for 12 yards or fewer. Given his limited volume and lack of explosiveness, Worthy is difficult to trust despite topping 50 yards from scrimmage in consecutive games for the first time this season.

Ends cold spell with TD
Worthy had four receptions (on five targets) for 61 yards and a touchdown while rushing once for seven yards in Sunday's 30-21 loss to Buffalo.
Analysis: Worthy snapped out of his recent funk to lead the Chiefs in receiving yardage while scoring for the sixth time this season. The versatile speedster had netted just one yard over his last two starts, but Sunday's strong output should restore some faith in fantasy managers. The Chiefs will attempt to bounce back next Sunday, in the same fashion Worthy did this Sunday, against the Panthers in Week 12.

Minimal production again Sunday
Worthy brought in one of four targets for 11 yards in the Chiefs' 16-14 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
Analysis: The speedy rookie once again struggled to get on the same page with Patrick Mahomes, leading to Worthy's second-lowest reception and receiving yardage totals yet. Worthy also briefly appeared to be dealing with an arm injury in the second half but remained in the game, and he could continue struggling to make an impact against a talented Bills defense in a Week 11 road battle.

Struggles mightily Monday
Worthy failed to bring in either of his targets Monday, losing 10 yards on two rushing attempts in an overtime win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Worthy turned in a true negative fantasy performance after losing 10 yards on his only two touches Monday. The speedy rookie took a backseat to veteran DeAndre Hopkins (8-86-2 receiving line), and that may be a trend that continues in the second half of the season following Kansas City's big trade in Week 8. Worthy is still a key part of the offense, as evidenced by his four attempted plays Monday, and still should be considered a flex option ahead of Sunday's tilt against Denver.

Scores in win over LV
Worthy finished with four receptions (on eight targets) for 37 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Worthy did not record a rushing attempt for just the second time in eight games, but he did nab his third receiving touchdown of the season. The versatile rookie continues to be a fantasy asset with five combined scores halfway through the schedule. Worthy should be busy again in a potential high-scoring affair between the Chiefs and Buccaneers on Monday Night Football in Week 9.

Leads team with eight targets
Worthy had three receptions (eight targets) for 19 yards and added one carry for five yards in Sunday's 28-18 win over San Francisco.
Analysis: Worthy continued to operate as the Chiefs' top wideout sans Rashee Rice (knee) in Week 7, churning out a similar stat line to his previous start Week 5. The 21-year-old Worthy was unable to hit pay dirt like he did against the Saints, but he did lead Kansas City in targets (eight) on a day when the ground game led the team to victory. The speedy wideout did exit Sunday's contest briefly to be evaluated in the medical tent, but he promptly returned to action and finished the contest without…read more

Rushing TD in Week 5 win
Worthy secured three of six targets for 25 yards and rushed once for a three-yard touchdown in the Chiefs' 26-13 win over the Saints on Monday night. He also recovered a Carson Steele fumble.
Analysis: Worthy entered the night as the Chiefs' de facto No. 1 receiver due to Rashee Rice's (IR, knee) absence, but he watched Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster command the bulk of Patrick Mahomes' attention. Worthy finished third in targets behind his two teammates, and he would have had a relatively uneventful night had it not been for his early fourth-quarter touchdown rush, his second score on the ground and fourth trip to the end zone overall. Worthy should work into a progressively larger…read more

Catches long touchdown
Worthy recorded three catches on four targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Worthy is the last of Kansas City's projected top three wide receivers to be healthy, with both Rashee Rice (knee) and Hollywood Brown (shoulder) sidelined for the long term. Worthy likely won't take on huge target volume, but he still showed what he can do with consistent opportunity after breaking free on a go route for a 54-yard touchdown just before halftime. Worthy is likely to remain a boom-bust fantasy option moving forward, but his snap rate should increase significantly while giving…read more

Light output in Week 3
Worthy caught two of four targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 22-17 win against the Falcons.
Analysis: Worthy ran the second-most routes on the team with 31, per PFF, trailing only Rashee Rice and tight end Travis Kelce. It didn't result in significant output in this one, but Worthy should remain a part of the game plan for a Chiefs offense that is lacking weapons beyond Rice and Kelce. Worthy seems unlikely to draw target volume consistent enough to be anything more than a touchdown-dependent fantasy contributor.

Held to three touches again
Worthy caught two of four targets for 17 yards and added a five-yard run in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Worthy scored touchdowns on two of his three touches in his NFL debut, but the speedster didn't make as much of the same volume in his second NFL game. The rookie first-round draft pick's role could expand as the season goes on, as the Chiefs will be without Hollywood Brown (shoulder) for the rest of the regular season, leaving Worthy as the top candidate to work as the team's No. 2 wide receiver behind Rashee Rice, who was the only player to exceed 22 receiving yards for Kansas City against…read more

Two-TD pro debut in win
Worthy caught two of three targets for 47 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for a 21-yard score in the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night.
Analysis: The first-round pick wasted no time translating his stopwatch-busting speed into a game situation, scoring the Chiefs' first touchdown of the campaign on a 21-yard end around just past the midway point of the first quarter. Worthy blew past the Ravens' defense on that play and then took advantage of a miscommunication in the secondary on his 35-yard TD grab down the right sideline in the fourth quarter. He's already finding success as a big-play threat and could see more snaps/targets Week 2…read more

Finds preseason end zone
Worthy caught three passes for 63 yards and one touchdown on six targets in Saturday's preseason game against Detroit. He also rushed once for 11 yards.
Analysis: Worthy played extensively with the first-team offense, drawing five of Patrick Mahomes' 14 passes and catching two receptions for 40 yards before catching his only Carson Wentz target for a 22-yard touchdown, a play on which he impressively got open with ease. The 21-year-old rookie still needs plenty of seasoning, and at just 5-foot-11, 165 pounds, he's also in need of further physical development. However, the Chiefs are clearly making it a priority to get Worthy involved quickly, and that…read more

Returns to practice
Worthy (illness) returned to practice Friday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It isn't ideal for a rookie to miss spring practices with a hamstring injury and now four days of training camp due to an illness, but he's back on the field Friday and has plenty of time to make an impression before Week 1. Selected 28th overall this spring after running the 40-yard dash in a combine-record 4.21 seconds, Worthy is part of a WR room where Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown are the top veterans. The team also has three early draft picks from prior years -- Kadarius Toney, Mecole…read more

Misses practice again
Worthy (illness) missed a third straight practice Wednesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: Worthy landed in an ideal spot for immediate fantasy value when the Chiefs drafted him with the 28th overall pick in the draft this April, but he hasn't actually had many chances to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes. He missed most of the offseason program with a hamstring injury, and now has been out for a trio of of training-camp practices due to the illness. Worthy still has plenty of time to earn a top-three role at wide receiver, and the competition doesn't look all that tough beyond…read more

Dealing with illness
Worthy (illness) is not practicing Monday, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Worthy missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp due to a hamstring injury before retaking the practice field last week, and though he's now dealing with an illness, there's no indication the rookie first-round pick will be sidelined long. He got off to a quick start, connecting with quarterback Patrick Mahomes for a deep touchdown during Sunday's practice. Once he's back on the field, Worthy will resume competing for first-team reps alongside Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown.

Back on practice field
Worthy (hamstring) participated in Wednesday's practice session, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Worthy appears to have recovered from the left hamstring injury that kept him sidelined throughout OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and though he missed a few plays Wednesday due to a hand issue, he was back on the field and catching passes from Ian Book by the end of the session. Per Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site, the team is currently hosting a "pre-camp" introduction for quarterbacks and rookies, which includes three practices before training camp officially kicks off Sunday.…read more

Tweaks hammy during OTAs
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Worthy tweaked his hamstring earlier during OTAs, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Reid said that Worthy "was only out there for a day and a half" before suffering the injury. The Chiefs will hope that the No. 28 overall pick is able to get back on the field without missing much time, as he's already going to have to skip some valuable reps to learn the offense and build chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Hamstring injuries have the potential to linger or resurface, though, so Kansas City could be motivated to take a cautious approach. In the meantime, wideouts like…read more
