Placed on injured reserve
The Buccaneers placed Hall (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hall's placement on IR only officially rules him out for the next four games, but the dislocated ankle and fractured fibula in his right leg he suffered Week 1 is expected to keep the depth cornerback out for the remainder of the season. He appeared in nine regular-season games for the Jets last year.

Likely out for season
Hall was ruled out for Week 2 against the Lions by head coach Todd Bowles on Monday with what could be a season-ending leg injury, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Analysis: Hall was carted off the field during Sunday's 37-20 win over the Commanders after suffering a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula in his right leg. The Virginia product will likely be headed to injured reserve at some point over the next couple of days and begin focusing on his recovery and return, which most likely won't happen until the 2025 campaign.

Suffers significant injury
Hall (ankle) suffered a dislocated right ankle and a fractured right fibula in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Commanders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Hall was carted off the field in the second half of the game and he now appears to be dealing with a long-term, if not season-ending, injury. A timetable for the cornerback's return will likely be provided in the near future.

Done for day
Hall suffered a right ankle injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Commanders, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Analysis: Hall suffered a lower body injury in the third quarter, which required the training staff to bring out the cart. An update on the cornerback's status moving forward will likely be provided in the near future, but he could be looking at an extended absence.

Agrees to terms with Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers signed Hall to a one-year deal Friday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After spending the first four years of his career with the Jets, the 26-year-old cornerback has found a new home in Tampa Bay. Hall appeared in just nine games (two starts) in 2023, recording five total tackles and defending two passes, including one interception. He's expected to compete for a depth role in the Buccaneers' secondary throughout the offseason.

Gets Week 5 start
Hall will start at cornerback in place of D.J. Reed (concussion) Sunday against the Broncos, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
Analysis: With Michael Carter sticking in his usual role at nickel cornerback and Brandin Echols also out with a hamstring injury, Hall will draw the start at the perimeter corner spot opposite Sauce Gardner. Hughes suggests the Jets may shade safety help in Hall's direction to help the fourth-year pro in coverage.

Still in mix for starting spot
Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that the team is still deciding between Hall and rookie first-round pick Sauce Gardner for the starting cornerback role across from D.J. Reed (hamstring), Andy Vasquez of NJ Advance Media reports.
Analysis: It's encouraging to hear that Hall's still in contention to start after his forgettable Monday Night Football preseason performance against the Falcons. He was caught flat-footed on two crucial plays in the first quarter, allowing Kyle Pitts to run by him for a 52-yard gain on the opening drive before giving up a 13-yard Olamide Zaccheaus touchdown on the following possession. Hall racked up an impressive 16 passes defensed in a starting role for the Jets last season, but New York's decision to…read more

Breaks up 16 passes in Year 2
Hall finished with 79 tackles (66 solo), 16 passes defensed and half a sack in 2021.
Analysis: Hall was initially viewed as a first-round talent in the 2020 NFL Draft but slipped to the fifth round after a major ankle injury. After taking some time to get back up to speed as a rookie, Hall took a major step forward in his second season, tying the likes of Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard for sixth league-wide with 16 passes defensed. While Hall probably lacks the ball skills to become a truly elite cornerback, he's already established himself as a legitimate starter at the position heading…read more

Busy against Bucs
Hall racked up nine tackles (seven solo) and two passes defensed in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Hall played well in coverage and in run support, though the Jets fell apart defensively after taking a 24-10 lead in the third quarter. The second-year cornerback out of Virginia has blossomed into a promising young starter on the outside for New York. Hall set a new single-game high with nine tackles and brought his season tackle total to 75 through 16 games. He's added 16 passes defensed.

Returns from COVID list
Hall (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday.
Analysis: Hall landed on the COVID list Monday after testing positive but was able to clear the league protocols relatively quickly. The 24-year-old has played at least 91 percent of the defensive snaps in all 15 games this season and has 66 tackles (55 solo), a half-sack and 14 passes defensed.

Placed on COVID-19 list
Hall (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports, and he tested positive for the virus, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Analysis: Hall is in danger of missing his first game of the season if he can not clear protocols in time for Sunday when the Jets host the Buccaneers. The second-year pro has been a bright spot in the Jets' secondary, and he's tied for sixth in the NFL in passes defensed on the season.

Primed for starting gig
Hall is set to handle a starting role following the Jets' decision to waive Pierre Desir, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Analysis: A fifth-round rookie out of Virginia, Hall missed the first eight weeks of the season while battling a knee injury. Hall made his NFL debut against the Patriots in Week 9, and he ended the game as a starter after Desir was pulled late in the fourth quarter. Desir's departure now opens up a clear route for Hall to slot into the starting lineup across from Bless Austin, while the Jets evaluate his potential with an eye toward the future.

Returns from NFI list
The Jets activated Hall from the reserve/non-football injury list Saturday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Hall may have been dealing with the effects of a month on the COVID-19 list, but he's practiced for three weeks and appears ready for his NFL debut Sunday against the Patriots. Pierre Desir, Blessuan Austin and Brian Poole will continue starting at cornerback, but there could still be reps left over for Hall.

Nearing return to action
The Jets designated Hall (undisclosed) for a return to practice Wednesday, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
Analysis: Hall has resided on the reserve/non-football list all season due an undisclosed reason, as the Jets now have a three-week window to activate him. Eligible to play in Week 9, it's likely that the rookie out of Virginia will assume a depth role at cornerback when finally cleared to return to action.

Starts season on NFI list
Hall was placed on the reserve/non-football list by the Jets on Sunday, Chris Ryan of NJ.com reports.
Analysis: Hall was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Aug. 27, but it's possible that he's still dealing with effects from illness. The 2020 fifth-round pick will hope to get healthy quickly before being activated for game action.

Activated off COVID list
Hall was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: The rookie has spent almost a month on the COVID list and will now get the chance to take the field once again. It's a sizable amount of time to miss from camp, especially as a rookie, so Hall will have to catch up quickly in hopes of carving out a role on the team.

Lands on reserve/COVID-19 list
The Jets placed Hall (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Hall's placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list doesn't necessarily mean he has tested positive, as players that have been in close contact with an infected person are also automatically given the designation. The rookie fifth-round pick should be eligible to rejoin his teammates when he receives medical clearance, though he may also still be rehabbing from the devastating ankle fracture he suffered in 2019.
