Returning to Detroit
Moore, who missed the entire 2023 season while suspended for violating the NFL's gambling policy, re-signed with the Lions on a one-year contract Tuesday, Dave Brickett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Moore was among five players on Detroit's roster to be suspended last spring for betting on NFL games and was subsequently cut, but he was reinstated by the league in April and now returns to a familiar environment. The 28-year-old figures to handle a depth role within the Lions' secondary, and to also contribute on special teams.

Suspended for 2023 season and cut
The Lions cut Moore after the NFL announced Friday that he will be suspended indefinitely, minimum one season, for violating the league's gambling policy, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Moore was found to have bet on the NFL games, resulting in a minimum suspension of one season, after which he will be able to apply for reinstatement. Moore was one of five players suspended for violating the league's gambling policy Friday, with teammate Quintez Cephus and Shaka Toney of the Commanders also getting season-long suspensions for wagering on NFL games while Jameson Williams and Stanley Berryhill received six-game suspensions for betting on non-NFL contests. The safety will now…read more

Headed back to Detroit
Moore agreed to terms with Detroit on a two-year deal Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Moore will now return to the Lions, where he's spent the past four seasons after signing there as an undrafted free agent. A special teams standout, the 27-year-old should expect to see most of his playing time on those units while also factoring in as a reserve defender.

Trying out with Giants
Moore (lower leg) was working out with the Giants Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Moore was dealing with a leg injury since the end of training camp and has been unable to make his season debut because of this. The 26-year-old safety has spent the past three seasons with Detroit, during which he recorded 36 tackles, one interception and one pass breakup through his 45 games with the team.

Parts ways with Detroit
The Lions waived Moore (lower leg) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Moore was in a walking boot late in training camp and landed on injured reserve last week. It's not yet clear when he's expected to be back to full health, but he'll be eligible to play in 2022 after reaching a settlement with Detroit.

Heads to IR
Moore (leg) reverted to the Lions' injured reserve list Wednesday, Jeff Risdon of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Barring an injury settlement, Moore will be sidelined for the entire 2022 campaign. The 26-year-old defensive back has appeared in 35 career games since signing with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2019, but he's mostly operated on special teams.

Waived with injury designation
Moore (lower leg) was waived/injured by the Lions on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Moore has been dealing with an undisclosed injury to his lower back and was in a walking boot during the final week of training camp. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the 26-year-old will revert to injured reserve. Meanwhile, the Lions enter Week 1 relatively short-handed at safety given the continued absence of Ifeatu Melifonwu (undisclosed).

Ready for action
The Lions activated Moore off the team's active/NFI list Thursday, NFL.com reports.
Analysis: Moore is now eligible to fully practice and play this preseason after opening training camp on Detroit's active/non-football injury list with an undisclosed injury. The 26-year-old played a significant role as a specialist for Detroit last year, collecting 22 tackles across 299 special-teams snaps and 155 defensive snaps over 17 games, and he should provide additional depth in the team's secondary this regular season.

Lands on NFI list
Moore (undisclosed) was added to the active/non-football injury list by the Lions on Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Moore is still eligible to practice and play in the preseason once he is removed from this list. The 26-year-old saw career-high playing time with Detroit last season, collecting 22 tackles over 17 games. Moore still primarily contributed via special teams (299 snaps) and he figures to slot into a depth role at safety behind Tracy Walker and Brady Breeze.

Re-signs with Detroit
The Lions re-signed Moore on Sunday to a one-year contract worth up to $2.4 million with $800,000 guaranteed, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Moore was a core member of the Lions' special teams last year, but he saw sporadic playing time on defense. However, he did play all 73 defensive snaps -- by far a season high -- during Detroit's Week 15 win over Arizona. He totaled 22 tackles (13 solo) and one interception across 17 appearances in 2021.

Full practice Wednesday
Moore (ankle) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Moore missed last week's loss to the Packers with the ankle issue, but he appears on track for a return. His return likely won't affect much from a defensive perspective, as he's yet to see a defensive snap this season.

Not ready for Week 14 return
Moore (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Packers.
Analysis: Moore carried a questionable tag heading into the afternoon, having logged limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday. The 24-year-old demonstrated at least some improvement to his practice involvement throughout the week after suffering an ankle injury during last Sunday's win over Chicago, but seemingly not enough to get the nod for a divisional matchup against the Packers. The absence will not affect Detroit's secondary, as Moore has yet to receive a defensive snap this season.

Picks up ankle injury
Moore exited Sunday's win over the Bears with an ankle injury.
Analysis: The injury was announced early in the second half, and it didn't appear he was able to return. Moore's status should be updated once Detroit returns to practice later this week.

Back in action Week 6
Moore (calf) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars.
Analysis: The 24-year-old had been beleaguered by hamstring and calf injuries over the first month of the season, playing in just one of the Lions' first four games. A Week 5 bye permitted Moore the opportunity to heal up, and he will now assist Detroit in pursuit of its second win of the season. In his lone appearance Week 2, Moore fielded 63 percent of the special-teams workload, though he did not receive a single defensive snap.

Set to sit Sunday
Moore (calf) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Saints, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Analysis: Moore will sit out a second straight game and will aim to return after the team's bye week, Week 6 against the Jaguars. In the one game he played this season, Moore operated strictly on special teams, so his absence mainly hurts the defensive depth.

Can't go against Arizona
Moore (calf) is listed among Detroit's inactive players for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals.
Analysis: The second-year man out of Ole Miss hasn't yet played a defensive snap in 2020, so his absence from Sunday's lineup should not be considered an additional advantage for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals' passing attack. Moore played nearly two-thirds of Detroit's special-teams snaps last Sunday in a loss to Green Bay, but the fact that he missed Friday's practice showed potential for him to miss Week 3.

Questionable against Cardinals
Moore (calf) didn't practice Friday and is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Analysis: Moore logged two limited sessions before sitting out completely Friday, so he may be trending in the wrong direction. Considering he hasn't played anything but special teams this year, his potential absence won't shake up the defensive dynamic against the Cardinals' Air Raid offense.

Back in action
Moore (hamstring) will play in Sunday's game against the Packers.
Analysis: Moore missed last week's game with the hamstring issue, but, as evidenced by this news, he's back and will make his 2020 debut. Now healthy, Moore will handle depth safety duties, set to be the primary backup behind Duron Harmon at strong safety.

Won't play Sunday
Moore (hamstring) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Bears, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Analysis: More didn't participate in practice all week, so it's unsurprising that he won't play in the season opener. Will Harris is the primary backup safety to begin the year.
