Misses two FGAs in loss
Slye went 3-for-5 on field-goal tries while making his only extra-point attempt in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Slye began his day with three straight field-goal makes from 35 yards, 31 yards and 54 yards versus Indianapolis. He then missed a chip-shot 25-yarder on the team's final possession of the first half before later missing a nearly impossible 68-yard attempt to end the game. The kicker has now made 22 of 28 field-goal tries while going 17-for-18 on PATs in 2024.

Misses lone field-goal try Sunday
Slye missed his only field-goal attempt but converted his only extra-point try during Sunday's 34-15 loss at Miami.
Analysis: Slye's only shot at a field goal in Week 12 came towards the end of the first quarter, and he drove the 45-yard kick off the right upright. He has now missed a kick in three of his last four games heading into a Week 13 matchup versus the Colts.

Hits three field goals in loss
Slye went 3-for-3 on field-goal tries and made one of two PATs in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: Slye made multiple field goals for the second straight week after going five straight weeks without doing so prior. His longest make of the day came from 42 yards, while he did miss an extra-point attempt for the first time this year. Through 11 contests, the kicker has gone 19-for-22 on field-goal attempts and 15-for-16 on PATs.

Perfect versus Bears
Slye made all four of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during New England's 19-3 win over the Bears on Sunday.
Analysis: Slye was perfect through all five of his kicks during Sunday's victory, and he outscored Chicago's entire team. He will look to build off this performance during the team's Week 11 matchup versus the Rams.

Misses valuable opportunity Sunday
Slye made one of his two field-goal tries and converted both of his two extra-point attempts during Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss at Tennessee.
Analysis: Both of Slye's field-goal tries in Week 9 came from longer than 50 yards out, a tough ask for any kicker. But after such a close loss, the Patriots will probably look back on the 56-yarder he missed in the first quarter as a squandered opportunity. New England's struggling offense will get another stiff test in Week 10 at Chicago.

Quiet day in Week 8 win
Slye made his only field-goal attempt and converted on both extra-point tries in Sunday's 25-22 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Slye was successful on a 23-yard chip shot in the fourth quarter, which gave the Patriots a one-point lead with 7:36 left to play in the game. Slye is now 11-for-13 on field-goal attempts and 11-for-11 on extra-point tries through the first seven games of the regular season.

Not heavily involved in loss
Slye made his only field-goal try and converted his only extra-point attempt in Sunday's 32-16 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: Slye's 41-yarder early in the second quarter put the Patriots up 10-0, but momentum quickly swung in Jacksonville's favor afterwards, leaving Slye without any further scoring chances. Though New England's office has improved since Drake Maye took over as starter, it remains one of the worst in the league by many metrics so far this season, rendering Slye non-viable in most fantasy formats.

Not a big factor Sunday
Slye made all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 41-21 loss versus the Texans.
Analysis: Slye did not attempt any field-goal attempts for the first time this season. However, New England looked improved on offense with rookie Drake Maye under center, and if that's sustained, it could provide a boost to Slye's fantasy value in the long run.

Misses one in loss
Slye made his lone extra-point try but missed one of two field-goal attempts in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: Slye missed a 33-yard attempt wide right in the second quarter, which would have given the Patriots a 10-3 lead before halftime. However, he opened the second-half scoring with a 38-yard make. Next up for the Virginia Tech product and New England is a Week 6 visit from the Texans.

Nails long field goal
Slye made his lone extra-point try and both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Slye's performance came in a losing effort, but it was impressive nonetheless. Before making a 54-yard attempt in the fourth quarter, the Virginia Tech product successfully hit a 63-yard try going into halftime, a kick that qualifies as the fourth-longest made field goal in NFL history and the second-longest field goal in an outdoor setting.

Converts only FG attempt Week 3
Slye made his only field-goal try and didn't attempt any extra points in last Thursday's Week 3 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Slye accounted for New England's only points in the defeat with a 44-yard field goal in the second quarter. The veteran kicker has gone 6-for-7 in field-goal tries through three weeks, with his only miss being a 48-yard attempt that was blocked. Though the Patriots are averaging only 13.0 points this season, Slye has managed to maintain moderate productivity since the team has struggled to score TDs when managing to get into the red zone.

Misses one in loss
Slye made both of his extra-point tries but missed one of three field-goal attempts in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Slye hit early from 29 and 28 yards, respectively. However, with the Patriots leading 20-17 and four minutes to go in the game, he had a 48-yard attempt blocked, keeping the Seahawks within a field goal. Jason Myers kicked a field goal for Seattle with less than a minute to go, and New England ultimately lost in overtime. Slye and the Patriots will travel to New York for Week 3 with a game against the Jets on Thursday.

Perfect in Week 1 win
Slye made all three of his field-goal attempts and converted on his lone extra-point attempt in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: All three of Slye's field-goal attempts Sunday were within 40 yards. His longest came from 37 yards out in the fourth quarter to give the Patriots a nine-point lead. Slye will look to continue his perfect season in Week 2 against the Jets on Thursday.

Wins kicking job
Slye is on track to open the season as the Patriots' placekicker, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Slye had been competing for the job with 2023 fourth-rounder Chad Ryland, who is set to be waived. With the Commanders last year, Slye made 19 of 24 field-goal tries and 32 of 35 extra-point attempts in 17 regular-season games. Looking ahead, the 28-year-old's fantasy upside will hinge on the performance of a re-tooled New England offense that will at some point transition to rookie Drake Maye at the QB position.

Gets opportunity with New England
Slye has agreed to a deal with the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After being released by the Jaguars earlier this week, it didn't take long for the 28-year-old to catch on with another team. With the Commanders last year, he made 19 of his 24 field-goal tries and 32 of his 35 extra-point attempts across 17 regular-season games. Now that he's with the Patriots, Slye will have an opportunity to compete with 2023 fourth-rounder Chad Ryland, who is coming off an inconsistent rookie campaign for New England.

Replaced by rookie
The Jaguars released Slye on Tuesday.
Analysis: Slye inked with Jacksonville as a free agent back in March, but he's now lost his spot on the roster to rookie sixth-round pick Cam Little. Meanwhile, Riley Patterson remains with the Jaguars as potential offseason competition for Little. Slye converted 19 of 24 field-goal tries and 32 of 35 extra-point attempts across 17 games with Washington last season.

Signing with Jacksonville
Slye is signing a one-year contract with the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Jags and Commanders now have swapped kickers, after Brandon McManus signed with Washington last week. The difference is that McManus figures to essentially be handed a starting job, whereas Slye is less proven and may have to compete with reserve/future signee Riley Patterson. Slye's career field-goal percentage (82.3) and PAT percentage (88.5) both are subpar by modern standards, though he does have a strong leg and has made 20 of 32 tries from 50-plus yards in his career.

Makes field-goal attempt in defeat
Slye made a field goal and an extra point in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Slye's lone field goal came from 36 yards out, bringing his tally to 19-for-24 on the season (79 percent). The Virginia Tech product didn't see much work this season, with 28 other kickers seeing more FGAs. The 27-year-old is set to be a free agent this offseason after signing a two-year contract with the Commanders in April 2022.

Makes field goal in loss
Slye made his only field-goal attempt and extra-point try in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Washington scored all 10 of its points in the second quarter, first on a 47-yard field goal from Slye and then via a Terry McLaurin touchdown catch that Slye followed with an extra point. The Commanders close out the season by hosting the Cowboys in Week 18.

Again held without a field goal
Slye did not attempt a field goal and made all four of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Slye is on a three-game streak without a field goal, a pattern that would be concerning even if Washington wasn't finishing out the regular season with two difficult defensive matchups against the 49ers and Cowboys. Through 15 games this season, Slye has made just 17 of 22 field-goal tries for a career-worst 77 percent conversion rate.

No field goals again
Slye did not attempt a field goal and made two of three extra-point tries in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: Syle has now gone two straight games without a field goal after he missed his lone attempt in the Commanders' previous game against the Dolphins. The veteran kicker has just 22 FGAs on the season, converting 17 of those (77.0 percent success rate). His PAT miss Sunday was his third of the season on 29 attempts. Next up for Syle and Washington is a Week 16 matchup with the Jets.

Misses lone field-goal attempt
Slye missed his only field-goal attempt but converted his only extra-point try in Sunday's 45-15 loss versus the Dolphins.
Analysis: Washington's offense was only able to log 245 total yards in Week 13, so Slye's opportunities to kick were predictably few and far between. His only chance at a field goal didn't come until the fourth quarter when the game was already out of reach, and he pushed the 53-yard attempt wide right. After a bye in Week 14, the Commanders will travel to take on a middling Rams defense.

Knocks down only field goal in loss
Slye converted on a 43-yard field-goal try and his lone extra-point attempt during Thursday's 45-10 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Slye wasn't presented many scoring opportunities in Thursday's blowout loss, with the Commanders finding themselves trailing significantly from an early stage. Washington's offense will look to get back on track versus the Dolphins in Week 13, though Miami's defense has notably improved of late.

Makes two field goals in loss
Slye was able to connect on both of his field-goal tries but converted just one of two extra-point attempts in Sunday's 31-19 loss to the Giants.
Analysis: Slye missed a PAT attempt for the second week in a row, although he remained perfect for the fourth straight week on FGAs. The Virginia Tech product was good from 23 yards in the first quarter, then was successful again from 42 yards in the third quarter. Next up for Slye and the Commanders is a Thanksgiving Day divisional matchup with the Cowboys.

Misses extra point
Syle made both of his field-goal attempts in the Commanders' 29-26 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, but he was only able to connect on two of three extra-point tries.
Analysis: Slye's PAT miss hit the left upright after the team scored on its opening drive. He was perfect from there, hitting 49- and 47-yard field goals in the second and third quarters, respectively. He'll take the field again in Week 11 against the Giants.

Perfect in close win
Slye converted both of his two field-goal attempts and both of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-17 win at New England.
Analysis: None of his kicks approached the range of the 61-yarder he made in Week 8, but Slye did enough in Week 9 to help Washington secure the win. In Week 10, the Commanders offense draws a favorable matchup against a below-average Seattle defense.

Breaks franchise record Sunday
Slye converted his only field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-31 loss versus Philadelphia.
Analysis: On an otherwise uneventful day for Slye, he got a chance to break Washington's franchise record for its longest field goal at the end of the first half, and he booted a 61-yarder between the uprights to put the Commanders up 17-10 over their division rival at the break. Has chip shot blocked Sunday
Slye failed to convert his only field-goal attempt but made his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 14-7 loss at the Giants.
Analysis: On a day where Washington struggled to get much of anything going offensively, Slye was only called out for one field-goal try. Leonard Williams rose up to block the 27-yarder early in the fourth quarter to maintain the Giants' touchdown advantage. The Commanders figure to be heavy underdogs in Week 8 versus Philadelphia, capping fantasy expectations for Slye in that contest.

Gets job done in win
Slye made his only field-goal attempt and all of his three extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-16 win at Atlanta.
Analysis: Slye's toughest task of the day was a 37-yard field goal after the first drive of the game, and he drove it dead center between the uprights. He has struggled somewhat on longer kicks through six games this season, but that might not matter much when Washington travels to take on a weak Giants defense in Week 7.

Slye converted two of his three field-goal attempts in Thursday's 40-20 loss versus Chicago.
Analysis: After the Bears jumped out to a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter, it was clear Washington would be playing catch-up and that Slye's opportunities would be few and far between. The Commanders opted to try for two after both of their two touchdowns on the night and eventually threatened to cut the game down to a one-score margin with five minutes to play. Stays busy Sunday
Slye made all four of his extra-point tries and connected on his lone field-goal attempt in Sunday's 34-31 overtime loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Slye's only FGA came from 27 yards out in the second quarter, while the Commanders' four touchdowns kept him returning to the field. The veteran kicker is now 9-of-9 on PATs on the season while improving to 6-for-8 on field-goal attempts. His next kicking opportunities will come Thursday against the Bears.

Makes only kick
Slye made his lone kick, a 51-yard field-goal try, in Sunday's 37-3 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Slye missed from 49 and 59 yards in Week 2, but he bounced back in Week 3 when called upon to score the team's only points. The field goal came with only 50 seconds left in the game, which at least helped Washington avoid getting shut out. His next opportunities will come in Week 4 against the Eagles.

Slye connected on all three of his extra-point tries, but he missed two of his four field-goal attempts in a 35-33 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
Analysis: Syle missed wide right on his first FGA from 49 yards out on the team's opening drive. However, the 27-year-old recovered to connect from 44 and then from 49 yards to close out the first half. His last attempt and second miss came from 59 yards halfway through the third quarter with the game tied at 21. His next opportunities will come Week 3 against the Bills.

Accurate in victory
Slye converted both his two field-goal attempts and both his extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-16 win over Arizona.
Analysis: Slye did everything Washington asked of him in Week 1 and got off to a perfect start to the 2023 season after winning the starting job in August. In Week 2, the Commanders will travel to the Mile High City to take on Denver, a good kicking environment historically. The bad news for Slye is the Commanders will be coming in as underdogs to face a defense that allowed just 17 points in Week 1.

Likely starter for Washington
Slye is the only kicker on the Commanders' roster after the team released Michael Badgley on Sunday.
Analysis: Slye appeared in all 17 games for Washington last season after he originally joined the team in November of 2021. The Commanders' starting kicker job appeared to be up for grabs this preseason after the Commanders signed Badgley in May, though it looks like Slye did enough to retain this role instead. The 27-year-old converted 37 of his 42 field-goal attempts and went 33-for-38 on PATs over 23 regular-season contests with Washington, and he's entering the final season of a two-year contract.

Misses three kicks
Slye missed two of four field-goal attempts and one of three extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-6 win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: Slye converted field goals from 29 and 22 yards, but only after he missed from 31 and 52 yards, not to mention a failed PAT. In 17 games this season, Slye made just 25 of 30 field goals and 24 of 28 extra points, limiting himself to 99 total points, which ranked outside the top 25 in scoring for kickers. The 26-year-old remains under contact with Washington for next season.

Makes only field goal in Week 17
Slye made one field goal and one PAT during Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Slye was able to convert an extra-point attempt in the first half before later adding a 43-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The kicker has had limited opportunities in recent weeks, going 3-for-3 on field goals over his last three games. After struggling to maintain a roster spot in 2021, Slye has earned a look moving forward after he's converted 23 out of 26 field-goal tries over 16 games with the Commanders this season.

Quiet outing in loss
Slye made both of his extra-point tries during Saturday's 37-20 loss against the 49ers.
Analysis: Slye didn't garner a field-goal attempt for the first time since Week 3 and was held to just two PATs, as Washington opted to go for two after its final touchdown in the fourth quarter. Coming into the contest, Slye had made 22 of 25 field goals and 16 of 18 extra-point tries over his past 11 appearances, so his lack of opportunities Saturday can likely be chalked up to a tough matchup against the surging 49ers. Analysis: Slye enjoyed his first game of the season with four field-goal conversions during Monday night's divisional win, and it was just his second contest of the year logging at least four attempts. Slye made his only field-goal attempt and both extra-point tries during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Slye now has back-to-back weeks without a missed kick following Sunday's loss to Minnesota, where he converted from 44 yards out at the end of the second quarter. Through Washington's first nine games, the 26-year-old is 9-for-11 on field-goal attempts and 12-for-13 on extra-point tries, and he'll look to keep his strong play going in the Week 10 matchup in Philadelphia.

Does job in close win
Slye connected on his only field-goal attempt and both of his point-after tries during Washington's 17-16 win at Indianapolis on Sunday.
Analysis: Slye chipped in a 28-yarder to bring the Commanders within one score with six minutes remaining and knocked a game-winning point-after attempt through with 22 seconds left. The 26-year-old kicker hasn't seen a ton of opportunities this season as the Washington offense has struggled, but he's been solid in his limited opportunities with an 8-for-10 field-goal conversion rate through eight games in 2022. Unless the Commanders start scoring more consistently though, Slye still likely won't be a…read more

Nails three field goals in victory
Slye went 3-for-4 on field goal attempts while making both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Packers.
Analysis: Slye was good from 22 yards in the first quarter before adding two more field goals from 31 yards and 19 yards later in the contest. The only blemish on his line was when he missed a 47-yarder late in the second quarter. Over the last two contests, Slye has gone 5-for-7 on field-goal tries and will look to remain heavily involved in Week 8 when the Commanders travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts.

Makes two field goals in win
Slye went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts in Thursday's win over the Bears.
Analysis: Slye made a 38-yard field-goal on the Commanders' final possession before halftime and later made a chip shot 28-yard attempt in the fourth quarter. The kicker's final try in the contest was no-good from 48. Slye is now 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts this season while converting six out of seven PATs.

Makes only attempt Sunday
Slye converted on his only field-goal attempt and both of his two point-after tries during Washington's 21-17 loss versus Tennessee on Sunday.
Analysis: Slye made a 50-yarder in the first quarter, but he didn't see another field-goal opportunity the rest of the game. He's been incredibly efficient of late, converting on 14-of-14 attempts over his last 11 games with the Commanders, but that hasn't returned great fantasy results as Washington's offense continues to sputter. With a Thursday night game in Chicago on tap for Week 6, Slye is a still poor option for fantasy managers.

Makes first field goal of 2022
Slye made one field goal and one PAT during Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Slye's first field-goal attempt of 2022 came from 45-yards out and cut Washington's deficit to 15-10. The Commanders have been aggressive on fourth downs and two-point conversion decisions this season, which has limited Slye's opportunities. Through four weeks, the veteran kicker remains one of the least appealing kickers for fantasy purposes.

No action in loss
Slye did not attempt a field goal or PAT in Sunday's 24-8 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Slye went a third consecutive week without a field-goal attempt to open the 2022 campaign and didn't have an opportunity to kick a PAT when the team went for two following their only touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter. The kicker remains one of the least appealing fantasy options at his position.

No FG attempts through two games
Slye made one of two PAT attempts in Sunday's 36-27 loss to the Lions.
Analysis: For a second consecutive week to open the season, Slye didn't attempt a field goal. He still managed to cost his team, though, as Slye's missed PAT after a fourth-quarter Washington touchdown kept Detroit's lead at nine points rather than making it a one-possession game. His lack of both volume and accuracy has made Slye an unappealing fantasy option thus far.

No field-goal attempts in Week 1
Slye connected on both point-after tries during Sunday's 28-22 win against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Slye didn't attempt a field goal during the season opener as Washington's offense was surprising efficient in the red zone. The Commanders also opted to go for two during their final two scoring drives, first to try and tie the game at 22 and then to push their lead to six late in the fourth quarter. Earns two-year contract
Slye signed a two-year contract with the Commanders on Monday.
Analysis: The full terms of Slye's deal have yet to be disclosed, though Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes the deal is worth nearly $5 million. Syle received a one-year, $2.4 million tender from the Commanders on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Slye appeared in six games for Washington last year and converted all 12 of his field-goal attempts while making nine of 10 extra-point tries. After spending time with three teams in 2021, the 25-year-old is the leading candidate to serve as the Commanders' kicker heading into 2022. Slye made all three of his field-goal attempts while converting his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 22-7 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Slye was consistent late in the regular season, as he made all four of his kicks in each of the final two games of the year. The 25-year-old spent the second half of the season with Washington and missed three games with a hamstring injury, but he made all 12 of his field-goal attempts while converting nine of 10 extra-point tries during his six appearances with the club. Slye will serve as Washington's kicker Sunday versus the Eagles.
Analysis: Washington currently has two kickers on the active roster, and for a second consecutive game, Slye is getting the nod over Brian Johnson, who is inactive. In his first game action last Sunday since Week 12, Slye didn't see much work in a 56-14 loss at Dallas, making both extra points and not getting a chance at a field-goal attempt. Slye didn't attempt a field goal and made both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 56-14 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Slye was activated off IR by Washington on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring injury and played in his first game since Week 12. The 25-year-old kicker didn't get much work as Washington fell behind 21-0 early in the first quarter and had to play catch-up the rest of the way. After sitting out the mandatory three games, he now has a 21-day window in which to prove his health at practice, with the potential Washington activates him before Sunday's game at Dallas. Coach Ron Rivera said Tuesday that Slye (hamstring) will miss "a few weeks," JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Analysis: Slye suffered a hamstring injury during Monday's 17-15 win over Seattle, and he was subsequently limited to extra-point tries but unable to attempt field goals. Depending on the severity of his injury, Slye could be a candidate for a stint on IR, but no matter the case Washington will now need to pursue other options at placekicker. Slye (hamstring) is available for extra-point attempts but will not attempt any field goals for the rest of Monday's game against Seattle, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Slye suffered a hamstring injury while trying to chase down a blocked extra-point attempt in the first half. He's been officially deemed questionable to return, though Washington opted to go for two rather than attempt an extra point on their first score in the second half. Set to kick for Houston in Week 1
The Texans are expected to promote Slye from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars after Houston placed kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn (leg) on injured reserve, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Fairbairn pulled a muscle during warmups for the team's final preseason game and will now miss at least the first three weeks of the season. Houston signed Joey Slye to its practice squad Tuesday, and he appears to be the best option to kick for the team Week 1. Analysis: It was reported only minutes earlier that Slye had officially lost the kicking competition to Ryan Santoso, so it's not a surprise to see the Panthers move on from him shortly after. Slye obviously has one of the strongest legs in the league, but accuracy concerns have been an issue for the Virginia Tech product since he came into the league. Slye has one of the strongest right legs in the league, but his accuracy has been inconsistent, and it sounds like he took a step backward this summer. Misses once again
Slye missed his only field-goal attempt but made his lone extra-point try in Friday night's 34-9 preseason win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Slye watched the newly acquired Ryan Santoso make all five of his kicks, including a 52-yarder, while he missed his first attempt from 49 yards. That contrast, along with Slye's well-documented inconsistencies of late, could cost him his job as Carolina's kicker, a role he's held the past two seasons.

Needs solid game Friday
Slye could lose ground to Ryan Santoso if his slump continues during Friday's preseason finale against the Steelers, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Slye has missed three kicks so far this preseason, and the Panthers recently acquired Santoso from the Giants via trade. Of course, Carolina only traded a conditional seventh-round pick in exchange for Santoso, and the condition requires him to play two regular-season games, so the team won't be at a loss if Slye wins the starting gig. The Panthers will give Slye another chance to prove himself Friday, but any more mistakes could prove costly.

Could face job challenge
Panthers GM Scott Fitterer said the Panthers like Slye but will continue to look at other kickers, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Slye is the only kicker on the roster, despite making just 79.4 percent of his field-goal attempts through two seasons. He does have a huge leg, but even then, he went just 1-of-6 from 50-plus last year, down from 8-of-11 in 2019. He's now been struggling in the preseason, and the Panthers seem to be getting nervous with their opener less than three weeks away. Slye missed from 37 yards but later converted a 41-yard field goal during Saturday's 20-3 preseason loss to the Ravens.

Just one point in finale
Slye did not attempt a field goal but made his only extra point in Sunday's 33-7 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Slye was limited to PAT work as Carolina's offense struggled to get in scoring position for the second straight week. Despite combining for just three points in his last two outings, Slye still racked up 120 points on the campaign, making 29 of 36 field goals and 33 of 36 extra points. Notably, however, five of Slye's field-goal misses came from 50-plus yards, where his strong leg influenced the Panthers to attempt potential record-long kicks on a couple desperate occasions. However, he still…read more

Misses PAT in win
Slye did not attempt a field goal and missed one of his three extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-13 win over Washington.
Analysis: Slye went wide right with his opening PAT attempt, marking his first extra-point miss since Week 3. That miscue along with zero field-goal attempts left Slye with a season low in points. However, with 119 total stops this season, Slye will have another chance to add to his career best Sunday versus the Saints.

Hits double figures
Slye made all three of his field goals as well as his only extra-point try in Saturday's 24-16 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Slye converted from 36, 22 and 33 yards on his field goals, which helped him reach double-digit points for the fifth time this season. With four straight games of at least eight points, Slye currently sports 117 with two contests remaining.

Slye made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 32-27 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Slye converted from 35 and 26 yards on his field goals, which, along with his three PATs, gave him a third straight outing with at least eight points. That production sees Slye currently sitting on 107 points this season, ranking him eighth among kickers league-wide.

Misses two kicks
Slye made two of four field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Slye converted from 40 and 21 yards on his respective field-goal makes, but he had a 28-yarder blocked in the third quarter and then went wide left with a 54-yarder to win the game as time expired. Although he'll be disappointed by those missed opportunities, Slye's nine points Sunday marked his highest total in his last six appearances, bringing his tally to 98 points through 12 games.

Makes all four kicks
Slye made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-0 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Slye's big leg was on display, as he converted a 56-yarder in the third quarter for a new career long. The second-year pro then made a 37-yard kick in the fourth, bringing his tally to eight points, which marked his best total since Week 6.

Slye made his only field-goal attempt and both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 46-23 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Slye converted from 46 yards on his lone field goal, but with his opportunities limited Sunday, he posted his fourth straight game with single-digit points. Although Slye still sports 81 points through 10 games, his recent outputs have slowed his pace significantly.

Misses two kicks
Slye missed two of his three field-goal attempts but made all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Slye converted from 47 yards on his first field goal, but then hit the left upright from 51 yards and went wide right on a potential-record, 67-yard attempt as regulation expired. By making all four of his PATs, however, Slye managed seven points in total, his highest amount over the past three weeks.

Makes all three kicks
Slye made his only field-goal attempt as well as both of his extra-point tries in Thursday night's 25-17 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Slye converted from 39 yards on his field-goal effort but again had his opportunities limited by a Panthers offense that struggled to move the ball. With All-Pro tailback Christian McCaffrey (ankle) seemingly set to return in Week 9, however, Slye could get more involved going forward, and his current total of 69 points through eight games still represents quality value.

Misses record kick
Slye made one of two field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Slye's only miss came on a 65-yard attempt that would've set an NFL record while tying the game with under two minutes remaining. The big-legged kicker was just short on that try, but he converted from 43 yards on his prior field-goal attempt Sunday. Through seven games, Slye now sports 64 points, and he has a great chance to add to that hefty total in Week 8 versus the Falcons.

Activated from COVID-19 list
The Panthers activated Slye from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Myles Simmons of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Slye's activation after just two days suggests the kicker's placement on the list may just have been precautionary. He's now on track to fill his normal duties Sunday at New Orleans. Slye has connected on 16 of 18 field-goal attempts through six games this season.

Lands on COVID-19 list
The Panthers placed Slye on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: Slye's placement on the list means that he has either tested positive for COVID-19 or has been in close contact with another person who has tested positive. The Panthers don't currently have another kicker on the roster, so look for the team to make a transaction ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints. Slye will remain in isolation from the team until he tests negative for the coronavirus on two occasions at least 24 hours apart.

Slye made three of four field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Slye converted from 21 and 20 yards on his first two field-goal efforts, then missed wide right from 54 yards before closing the day with a 48-yard make. Analysis: Slye converted from 38, 39 and 22 yards on his field-goal tries, bringing his tally to 11 points on the day. The second-year pro has notched double-digit points in three of five outings this season, with Sunday's performance marking his second without a missed kick.

Slye missed one of two field-goal attempts but made all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Slye converted from 27 yards to open the fourth quarter but then went wide right from 42 yards to stall Carolina's next series. Although his seven points produced a decent return, Slye has now missed a kick in three out of four games thus far, leaving further points on the board Sunday.

Scores 15 points
Slye made all five of his field-goal attempts but missed his only extra-point try in Sunday's 21-16 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Slye nailed kicks from 29, 24, 30, 22 and 31 yards as Carolina's offense failed to score touchdowns from in close. The one time the Panthers did find the end zone, however, Slye's extra-point try was blocked. Although he'll be disappointed by having missed two of his five PATs so far, with a season-high 15 points Sunday, Slye still sports a healthy 30 through three weeks.

Misses extra point
Slye made all three of his field-goal attempts but missed one of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-30 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Slye converted from 47, 46 and 31 yards on his respective field goals, showing his strong leg in the process. However, the second-year kicker went wide left with his first extra-point attempt of the season, putting the Panthers in a tough situation as they trailed by four points late. While Slye will be disappointed by that miscue, his fantasy owners should at least be encouraged by him posting double-digit points to start the season.

Left with no competition
Slye is left as the only kicker on the Panthers' roster with the team choosing to cut Graham Gano (knee), Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Slye filled in for an injured Gano last season and quickly made an impression with his leg strength. The rookie missed four PATs and a chip-shot field goal, but he went 8 of 11 from 50-plus yards and forced touchbacks on 66 of 70 kickoffs (94.3 percent). While there's no guarantee he puts it all together, Slye offers obvious potential to be one of the best kickers in the NFL. Facing competition
Slye is expected to compete with Graham Gano for the Panthers' kicking job during training camp and the preseason, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Slye replaced Gano as the Panthers' kicker after the latter went down with a season-ending knee injury during the 2019 preseason. The 24-year-old went on to convert 25 of 32 field-goal attempts and 31 of 35 extra-point attempts during his inaugural NFL campaign. Gano had been the team's main kicker since 2013 prior to his injury.

Analysis: Slye converted 25 of 32 field-goal tries and 31 of 35 extra-point attempts across 16 contests in 2019. With Graham Gano (knee) expected to be healthy in time for the 2020 season, Slye will have to compete for Carolina's starting placekicker job.

Finishes with four points
Slye, who tallied four points in Sunday's 42-10 loss to the Saints, went 25-of-32 on field-goal attempts and 31-of-35 on extra-point tries, totaling 106 points in 16 games played this season.
Analysis: Slye started his rookie season with a bang, averaging more than nine points per game while nailing four kicks from 50-plus yards through his first six outings. After that point, however, he topped six points just twice and endured a disastrous Week 12 against the Saints, missing two extra points and three kicks total in a heartbreaking three-point defeat. Tallies six points
Slye made both his field-goal attempts and didn't attempt any extra points in Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Slye accounted for all of his team's points on the day, converting from 27 and 50 yards. The rookie has gone four games without missing since his nightmare performance against the Saints in late November, and he will now look to remain unblemished as New Orleans visits Carolina in Week 17.

Perfect in defeat
Slye made his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Slye converted from 52 yards on his lone field goal and has now gone three straight games without a missed kick. That has helped stabilize his value following his Week 12 letdown against the Saints. With two weeks left in the season, Slye currently sits on 96 points scored for the campaign.

Converts four kicks
Slye made both field-goal attempts and both extra-point attempts during Sunday's 40-20 loss in Atlanta.
Analysis: Slye was able to convert from 46 and 42 yards on his field goals, which were his first field-goal attempts since a shaky Week 12 performance. The 23-year-old likely is still on a short leash with seven missed field goals and four missed extra points this season, but he'll head into Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks having made his last seven kicks.

Just three points
Slye did not attempt a field goal but made all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Redskins.
Analysis: Slye maintained his job after a tumultuous Week 12, and although he wasn't involved much Sunday, the kicker at least converted all three of his kicking opportunities. That should help build back Slye's confidence, but the fact he's scored just 26 points over the last six games has seen his stock fall significantly.

Continues kicking duties
Slye is expected to continue kick for the Panthers despite two missed extra points and a missed 28-yard field goal in last week's loss to the Saints, David Newton of ESPN reports.
Analysis: It was a tough game for Slye, who most notably missed a potential game-winning 28-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's game. The Panthers signed another kicker to their practice squad early this week, but he was never really a threat to Slye's job. Should the Virginia Tech product continue to under-perform, however, threats about him being replaced could get more serious.

Set for competition
Coach Ron Rivera said Monday that the Panthers may bring in kickers for tryouts this week, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Slye missed two extra-point attempts and a 28-yard field-goal try during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Saints. His missed field goal came with only two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. As a result of the costly performance, Slye appears to be on thin ice with Carolina's coaching staff. His hold on the Panthers' kicking job may not be secure for long.

Costs Panthers in Week 12
Slye missed a 28-yard field goal as well as two extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Saints. He finished with seven points total, making field goals from 41 and 52 yards as well as one extra point.
Analysis: Slye was largely to blame for Carolina's loss, as his stunning field-goal miss came with just two minutes remaining. The rookie also failed on two extra-point efforts, wasting away further opportunities. Although his seven points actually marked his most since Week 6, Slye will still be very disappointed by Sunday's showing.

Just one attempt
Slye made his only kick, a 31-yard field goal, in Sunday's 29-3 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Slye scored Carolina's only points, and although he did all that was required of him, the rookie's production has tailed off in recent weeks. In the Panthers' last four games, he's managed merely 16 points, marking a stark contrast compared to his 56 through the first six weeks.

Analysis: Slye converted his first four kicks, including a 35-yard field goal, but ran into trouble in the fourth quarter. After having an extra point blocked, he missed a 49-yard field goal wide left on Carolina's next drive. Overall, that left him with just six points, lowering his season average to just over eight per game.
