Works out with Falcons
Atlanta worked out Fry on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Fry was let go by Denver prior to Week 1, and he's now hoping for another opportunity with a different team. Regular starting kicker Younghoe Koo has missed kicks in back-to-back games for the Falcons, but they're not likely to make a change at the position unless he continues to struggle.

Reaches injury settlement
The Broncos waived Fry (undisclosed) off injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Fry was set to miss the 2023 season after being placed on the Broncos' injured reserve list. Now that he has reached an injury settlement with Denver, Fry will be able to sign with another team once he recovers from his injury.

Lands on injured reserve
Fry (undisclosed) reverted to the Broncos' injured reserve list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Fry will now miss the entire 2023 campaign, unless he reaches an injury settlement with Denver. The 28-year-old had been in competition with Brett Maher for the team's kicking duties before succumbing the injury. The Broncos have yet to add another kicker to the 90-man training camp roster to compete with Maher.

Gets let go
Fry (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation by the Broncos on Tuesday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Fry signed with the team in May and was in competition with Brett Maher for Denver's kicking duties. However, Fry's injury will now take him out of the competition, leaving Maher as the only kicker on the Broncos roster. The 28-year-old will revert to IR upon clearing waivers and will not have the chance to crack a roster for 2023 unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

Competing for kicking job
Fry and Brett Maher are in a training-camp competition for the Broncos' kicker job, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Analysis: Fry signed a contract with Denver in late May after being waived by Arizona a few weeks prior. The Broncos subsequently brought in Maher, who had a strong regular season with Dallas last year before coming down with a case of the yips in the playoffs, missing four extra-point tries in a game against Tampa Bay. Given Maher's advantage in experience -- he's kicked in 54 regular-season games to Fry's three -- the former likely has the early leg up in the training-camp battle, though Maher will…read more

Signing with Denver
Fry agreed to a contract with the Broncos on Wednesday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Analysis: He becomes the lone kicker on the Broncos roster after they released Brandon McManus last week. Given that Fry has attempted only six field goals in the NFL, it's probably a matter of time before the team brings in competition for the kicking job.

Let go by Arizona
The Cardinals waived Fry on Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Fry signed a reserve/future contract with the Cardinals following the conclusion of the 2022 campaign, but he finds himself as a free agent heading into the summer. The undrafted kicker out of South Carolina has appeared in three NFL games, each with different teams (Atlanta, Cincinnati and Kansas City), since joining the league in 2019, connecting on five of six field-goal attempts and five of seven extra-point tries.

Cut from practice squad
Fry was cut from the Bengals' practice squad injured list Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Fry spent the majority of the season being cut from, then re-signed to, the Falcons' practice squad. He ultimately ended up with the Bengals on Jan. 4 and was their kicker Week 18 against the Browns, while Evan McPherson was out with a groin injury. Fry was placed on the Bengals' practice squad injured list on Jan. 12 with an undisclosed injury.

Lands on injured list
Fry (undisclosed) was placed on the Bengals' practice squad injured list Wednesday.
Analysis: Fry joined the active roster for Sunday's Week 18 loss to the Browns since Evan McPherson (groin) was sidelined. However, he reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Monday. The nature of the 27-year-old's injury isn't yet clear, but he's unlikely to rejoin the active roster for Saturday's wild-card matchup now that McPherson is back to full health.

Shifts back to practice squad
Fry reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Fry served as Cincinnati's Week 18 kicker in the absence of Evan McPherson (groin). He made his only two attempts, one a 36-yard field goal and the other an extra point. Fry made four of his five field-goal tries and four of his five extra-point attempts across two games this season.

Perfect as fill-in option
Fry made his lone field-goal attempt while making his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 21-16 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Fry handled the Bengals' placekicking duties in Sunday's regular-season finale since Evan McPherson (groin) was unavailable. The 27-year-old didn't see much work in the loss but converted both of his kicks. If McPherson is healthy for Saturday's wild-card matchup against the Raiders, Fry is unlikely to take the field.

Handling Week 18 kicking duties
Fry will handle kicking duties for the Bengals in Sunday's game against the Browns with Evan McPherson (groin) inactive for the contest, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The assignment was expected for Fry, as the Bengals likely wouldn't have promoted him from the practice squad Saturday if they planned on having McPherson available for the regular-season finale. McPherson is expected back for the Bengals' wild-card game, so Fry will revert back to the practice squad following the Week 18 contest. Fry's lone regular-season action in 2021 came with the Chiefs back in Week 16, when he went 3-for-4 on both his field-goal and extra-point attempts while filling in…read more

Elevated to active roster
Fry was elevated to the Bengals' active roster Saturday.
Analysis: Fry joined the Bengals' practice squad Tuesday and will be on the active roster for Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Browns. His elevation signals that Evan McPherson (groin) could be unavailable, which would open up placekicking duties for Fry.

Finds new home
Fry was signed to the Bengals' practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: Fry spent most of the season bouncing back and forth between the Falcons' active roster and practice squad. He joined the Chiefs on Dec. 14 and filled in for Harrison Butker in Week 16 against the Steelers while Butker was on the COVID list. After Butker cleared protocols, Fry was cut Dec. 28. He'll now provide emergency depth to Bengals' kicker, Evan McPherson.

Cut from practice squad
The Packers have released Fry from their practice squad.
Analysis: Fry was waived by the Chiefs last week after filling in for Harrison Butker (illness) in Week 16. He subsequently spent last week on Green Bay's practice squad. The journeyman kicker will now set his sights on a new opportunity.

Joins Green Bay's practice squad
Fry was signed to the Packers' practice squad Saturday.
Analysis: Fry filled in for Harrison Butker (illness) in Week 16, but he was waived after Butker was restored to the Chiefs' active roster from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Mason Crosby has struggled this season, connecting on just 70 percent of his field goals. However, the veteran has made all his kicks in three straight games, so Fry will likely only be elevated in an emergency situation.

Cut by Chiefs
The Chiefs waived Fry on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Fry filled in for Harrison Butker (illness) this past Sunday against the Steelers due to the latter's status on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He fared well enough, connecting on three of four field-goal attempts and three of four point-after tries in the 36-10 victory. Tuesday's transaction may indicate Butker is on the verge of clearing league protocols, but for Fry himself he'll seek another opportunity elsewhere.

Kicking for KC in Week 16
Fry is in line to serve as Kansas City's kicker for Sunday's game against the Steelers with Harrison Butker (illness) not available to play, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: Though the Chiefs haven't officially provided word on Butker's status for Week 16, Sweeney reports that the kicker won't be eligible to play after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday following a positive test of the virus. That implies that Butker is following the protocols for unvaccinated players, making him ineligible to rejoin the Chiefs until 10 days after his positive test. In preparation for Butker's Week 16 absence, Kansas City signed Fry off its practice squad Monday, setting…read more

Signed to active roster
Fry was signed to the Chiefs' active roster Monday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Analysis: Fry joins the active roster after Harrison Butker was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. The 25-year-old kicker appeared in one game last year for the Falcons, but before that, his last game was with the Eagles in 2016. Butker still has a chance to clear protocols before Sunday's matchup with the Steelers, but Fry will still get reps with the active roster during practice just in case Butker is unable to clear protocols.

Receives future deal
The Falcons signed Fry to a reserve/future contract Monday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Fry played in one game for the Falcons in 2020, connecting on his lone field-goal attempt from 23 yards out. The 26-year-old is injury insurance for the Falcons, as Younghoe Koo is locked in as their starting kicker in 2021.

Reverts to practice squad
Fry reverted to the Falcons' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Analysis: The 25-year-old was elevated to the active roster as an extra player for Monday's loss to the Packers with Younghoe Koo (groin) sidelined, and he made his lone field-goal attempt but missed one of two extra-point attempts. Fry could receive another opportunity next week if Koo remains sidelined.

Misses kick in debut
Fry made his only field-goal attempt but missed one of his two extra-point tries in Monday night's 30-16 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Fry made his NFL debut after usual starter Younghoe Koo (groin) was deemed inactive. Although he began with an easy 23-yard field goal, Fry faltered on his next attempt, missing an extra point wide right following halftime. Fry responded by making his next PAT, but he'll nonetheless be disappointed by his imperfect first appearance. At this point, it remains to be seen whether Koo will return for Week 5 versus the Panthers, but Fry at least has some game experience under his belt now.

Officially called up
The Falcons elevated Fry from the practice squad for Monday's game against the Packers, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Fry had already been named the starting kicker since Younghoe Koo (groin) has been ruled out, and the Falcons officially made the transaction. This will be Fry's first NFL game since entering the league in 2017. While even a top-tier performance won't push Koo out of the starting job once he's healthy, this could serve as a glorified tryout for Fry in hopes of impressing other teams.

Set to start Monday
Fry will start Monday against the Packers after Younghoe Koo (groin) was ruled out ahead of the prime-time contest, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: This was always the expected outcome considering Koo was unable to practice all week. The Falcons haven't called up Fry from the practice squad yet, but the designation is expected to occur in the next two days. The 25-year-old has yet to attempt a kick at the NFL level in his career.

Joins Falcons' practice squad
The Falcons signed Fry to the practice squad Thursday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.

Let go by Bucs
The Buccaneers waived Fry on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Buccaneers brought in Ryan Succop and Cody Parkey for tryouts to supplement the competition between Fry and Mike Gay, and Fry struggled in the battle Sunday, missing an extra point and shanking a 49-yard field goal. Fry was shown the door as a result, and the competition is now between Gay and Succop to start Week 1. Fry has less than two weeks to find a new gig, and it'll be tough with no NFL regular-season experience.

Stumbles in scrimmage
Fry missed an extra point off the left upright and shanked a 49-yard field-goal try during Friday's scrimmage at Raymond James Stadium, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Fry may have irreparably damaged his chances with his rough showing, considering his heated job battle with Matt Gay is reportedly set to expand by another couple of candidates. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that veterans Ryan Succop and Cody Parkey are currently going through COVID-19 protocols ahead of planned workouts for the team this coming week, a development that ultimately could equate to a Fry release. Thriving in kicking competition
Fry continues to give an impressive accounting of himself in his training camp kicking competition with incumbent Matt Gay, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. "The most consistent guy [will make the team]," said coach Bruce Arians. "They both have enough leg strength. Fry kicked a 56-yarder with no problems. I don't think we're going to try too many longer unless it's at the end of the half. Leg strength is no problem, so it's just the most consistent guy, and if there's a disparity with who's the most consistent inside 35 [yards]."
Analysis: Fry has yet to kick in a regular-season game, but he spent time with the Bears and Ravens last preseason as an undrafted rookie. The 25-year-old has displayed leg strength to rival that of Gay's, so this competition could well come down to how each performs in the simulated game conditions of a pair of intrasquad scrimmages at Raymond James Stadium, the first unfolding this coming Friday.

Locked in Tuesday
Fry, who was brought in to compete with Matt Gay for the placekicking job, was perfect on all his attempts in Tuesday's practice, Carmen Vitali of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Fry has yet to kick in a regular-season game, but he has had a solid dose of preseason experience. Gay's strong leg, solid body of overall work last season and pedigree (for a kicker) as a fifth-round pick likely gives him an advantage in the job battle going in. However, Fry could make things interesting if he continues to put together performances like Tuesday's, in which he matched Gay's perfect showing and finished with a successful attempt from 50 yards.

Picked up by Bucs
Fry was claimed off waivers by the Buccaneers on Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Buccaneers brought Fry on board to give incumbent Matt Gay some competition. The 25-year-old went undrafted in 2019 and subsequently spent time in Chicago and Baltimore before the season. As of now, Gay would seemingly have the leg up on the competition, but Fry will look to make an impression in camp. He converted 66-of-88 field goal attempts and 161-of-162 extra points during his collegiate career at South Carolina.

Parts ways with Panthers
The Panthers waived Fry on Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: The Panthers signed Fry late last December as an insurance option, but the team now appears comfortable proceeding forth with just Joey Slye and Graham Gano (knee). Fry also previously spent time with the Bears and Ravens, but he has yet to make his NFL debut since going undrafted out of South Carolina in 2017.

Inks deal with Panthers
Fry signed with the Panthers on Monday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Fry was originally expected to play for the XFL's St. Louis Battlehawks, but the Panthers want to afford him an early look for the 2020 season. With Graham Gano (knee) on IR this year, Joey Slye was the Panthers' starting kicker. The rookie produced modestly, connecting on 78 percent of field goals, including eight of 11 tries from beyond 50 yards. He also hit 31 of 35 extra points. If Slye isn't re-signed, Fry will compete with Gano for the starting job next year.
