Does well in first season starting
Jones finished the 2020 campaign with 41 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two passes defensed.
Analysis: The addition of Jurrell Casey was supposed to squeeze the sophomore out of the starting lineup, but Casey went down for the season in Week 2 after suffering a biceps injury. Jones thereafter showed why the team had faith in him heading into the season, finishing third on the team with 6.5 sacks. A Vic Fangio favorite, Jones is likely to start along the defensive line in 2021 as the team figures to bring back only one of Casey and Shelby Harris.

Sack on Sunday
Jones recorded three tackles (two solo) and a sack across 41 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Jones now has five sacks on the season, the third-highest total on the Broncos this season. Over the past four weeks, he has played in 67 percent of the defensive snaps, the highest total of any defensive end in Denver.

Rings up career-high nine stops
Jones made nine tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 31-3 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Jones continues to establish himself as the team's starting defensive end, as he has registered a 58 percent snap share or better in six straight games. The Ohio State product has totaled 24 tackles and three sacks in that stretch, and he came through with a career high in stops in Week 12.

Picks up sack against Dolphins
Jones recorded three tackles and a sack during Sunday's 20-13 win over Miami.
Analysis: The sack was Jones' second in his last three games, as the Broncos swarmed Tua Tagovailoa for six total sacks. Jones has made the most of his increased opportunities with both Jurrell Casey (biceps) and Shelby Harris (COVID-19) out of the lineup. Harris may return Sunday against the Saints, which should help prevent the Saints from keying in on the sophomore lineman. New Orleans ranks 11th in the league in 2020, surrendering 16 sacks thus far this season.

Records sack against Atlanta
Jones posted two solo tackles, a sack and a pass breakup in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Since returning from a knee injury in Week 7, Jones has posted two sacks in three games. His fantasy floor is negligible with just seven tackles in that stretch, but the 2019 third-round pick is handling reps as the starting defensive end and is developing as a pass rusher.

Lifted from IR
The Broncos activated Jones (knee) from injured reserve Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Jones was handed a 4-to-6 week timeline after suffering a PCL strain in the Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh, and he'll make his return to the lineup Sunday against the Chiefs. During his stint on IR, Jurrell Casey (biceps) was ruled out for the season, so Jones could return to an expanded role at defensive end. The 2019 third-rounder posted four tackles and played 58 defensive snaps through the first two games of the year.

Slated to return from IR
Jones (knee) is expected to return to practice Wednesday, indicating the beginning of his 21-day window to be activated from IR, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Jones has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury in Week 2 against the Steelers. He was handed a 4-to-6 week timeline, so his return to the lineup this Sunday against the Chiefs would line up. Jurrell Casey (biceps) was ruled out for the season a few weeks ago, so Jones is slated to secure a starting defensive end job upon return to the lineup.

Will miss 4-to-6 weeks
Jones (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Analysis: Jones has a PCL strain that will keep him out 4-to-6 weeks, so he'll target a return in late October. The 2019 third-round pick carved out a decent workload to begin the season and recorded four total tackles through two games. With DeMarcus Walker also leaving this past Sunday's game with a calf injury, the Broncos may need reinforcements at defensive end before Week 3's matchup versus the Buccaneers.

Hurts knee in loss
Jones suffered a knee injury in the second half of Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Steelers and didn't return to the game, Jeff Legwold and Adam Schefter of ESPN.com report.
Analysis: The severity of Jones' knee injury is not yet known, but the Broncos should have an update on the initial injury report as they start preparing for a Week 3 clash with the Buccaneers.

Likely to remain a backup
The Broncos' resigning of veteran Shelby Harris places Jones' presumed starting role in doubt for 2020, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Jones was a favorite of head coach Vic Fangio's heading into the 2019 draft and all signs pointed to him entering the starting lineup in 2020 opposite Jurrell Casey with the presumed departures of Harris and Derek Wolfe. Harris' return throws a wrench into the works. Klis floats the potential of Jones starting alongside Harris and Casey while nose tackle Mike Purcell rotates in, but that leaves the team very undersized upfront -- something that led to a poor performance against the run early in…read more

Breaks out with 2.5 sacks
Jones recorded five tackles and 2.5 sacks during Sunday's victory over the Broncos.
Analysis: This was a breakout performance of sorts for Jones, who had just nine tackles and one sack to his name over the previous 12 games. The third-round rookie out of Ohio State will look to have another solid outing in the season finale Sunday against a Raiders team that will be without stud left tackle Trent Brown (pectoral).

Gearing up Sunday
Jones (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: Jones missed Week 15's loss to the Chiefs, but the rookie third-round pick is back in the fold. He has nine tackles and a sack through 12 games this year, and Jones is in line for a starting role since DeMarcus Walker (ankle) is inactive.

Questionable for Week 16
Jones (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Lions, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Analysis: Jones has been limited all week with an ankle injury, a positive sign for his Sunday availability considering he was unable to practice in any fashion in the lead-up to Week 15. Jonathan Harris is in line to fill in for Jones at defensive end if he is unable to suit up against Detroit.

Limited to start week
Jones (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jones didn't practice in any capacity before being ruled out for Week 15's loss to the Chiefs, so Wednesday's limited session represents tangible progress. The rookie third-round pick appears to have a shot at retaking the field against Detroit on Sunday, though the Broncos are unlikely to rush him back to action until fully healthy.

On shelf Sunday
Jones (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: The Broncos are tight on depth at defensive end, as DeMarcus Walker (ankle) and Adam Gotsis (knee) are inactive as well. Deyon Sizer, who was promoted from the practice squad Saturday, is a candidate to start, but Kyle Peko could bump over from his typical interior position.

Still not at practice
Jones (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jones didn't practice all week but apparently still has a chance to suit up. Despite the tag, he seems more likely ticketed for a multi-game absence. The recently-signed Kyle Peko could see immediate playing time if Jones is out.

Broncos holding out hope
According to Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com, placing Jones (ankle) on injured reserve is not an option at the moment.
Analysis: The Broncos, according to head coach Vic Fangio, will keep Jones off IR for the time being and hope the defensive end can return before season's end. The rookie third-round pick has missed only one game this season, compiling nine tackles, one sack, two defended passes and one interception in 12 appearances in 2019.

Nursing high-ankle sprain
Jones suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Jones was spotted wearing a walking boot following the Week 14 win. High-ankle sprains generally carry a multi-week recovery timetable, so with only three contests remaining in the regular season, it's possible that the Broncos will opt to place Jones on injured reserve. The rookie third-round pick has notched nine tackles (five solo), one sack, two defended passes and one interception across 12 games this season.

Spotted in boot
Jones (ankle) was spotted sporting a boot following Sunday's win over the Texans, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Jones was injured in the first quarter of Sunday's game, barely playing any snaps before exiting the contest. X-rays on Jones' ankle came back negative, but the fact that he's sporting a boot is a negative sign. Expect more specifics to surface on the injury ahead of next week's game against Kansas City.

Done for day
Jones (ankle) was officially ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Texans.
Analysis: Jones was injured on the first defensive drive of the game, so the fact that he's already been ruled out is a negative sign for the injury. Now that he's officially done for the day, look for Adam Gotsis to continue to see an uptick in defensive and special teams snaps. The team should have an official word on Jones' health leading into next week's game against Kansas City.

Suffers injury Sunday
Jones (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans.
Analysis: It's unclear how Jones suffered the injury, but he was forced to leave the game on the first defensive drive of the game. As long as Jones is sidelined, Adam Gotsis is in line to see an uptick in defensive and special teams snaps.
