Ready to rock
Jewell (hamstring) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Jewell has been nursing a hamstring injury throughout December that held him out of practice Wednesday, but he logged a full session Friday, indicating the issue won't hinder him enough to be sidelined in Week 16. The Iowa product has recorded 10 total tackles in each of his last three contests and is expected to serve as one of the Panthers' defensive leaders in Sunday's game.

Still nursing hamstring injury
Jewell (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Jewell has played through a hamstring injury through most of December, but that hasn't caused a dip in his production as he's logged 10 total tackles in each of his last three games. Unless he downgrades to a DNP on Friday's injury report, Jewell is expected to play against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Leading tackler in loss
Jewell recorded 10 tackles (five solo) and a pass defensed during Sunday's 30-14 loss versus the Cowboys.
Analysis: Jewell racked up 10 tackles for his third straight game in a contest where Dallas ran the football 40 times. He's nine tackles away from his third consecutive 100-tackle season going into Week 16 versus the Cardinals.

Good to go
Jewell (hamstring) is available for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jewell will once again play through a hamstring injury despite being listed as questionable. Since Carolina's Week 11 bye, Jewell has recorded 29 tackles (17 solo) and 3.5 sacks in three games.

Questionable after full practice
Jewell (hamstring) practiced in full Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Jewell managed to play through his hamstring injury Week 14 versus Philadelphia and handle 100 percent of the Panthers' defensive snaps, which bodes well for his chances of gaining clearance versus Dallas. Official clarity on Jewell's status will arrive no later than 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Logs limited session Wednesday
Jewell (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jewell was able to play through his hamstring injury in the Panthers' Week 14 loss to the Eagles, tallying a team-leading 10 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, across 56 defensive snaps. Wednesday's limited session is likely precautionary, however, the 29-year-old linebacker could be in jeopardy of missing a Week 15 contest against the Cowboys if he aggravated the injury in Sunday's loss.

Team's leading tackler Sunday
Jewell recorded 10 tackles (five solo) including 1.5 sacks during Sunday's 22-16 loss at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Jewell managed double digits in the tackle column for his second straight game in Week 14, and he put a notch in the sack column for his third consecutive contest. He profiles as a solid IDP option for Week 15 versus the Cowboys.

Playing Sunday vs. Philly
Jewell (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Jewell registered a LP/DNP/LP practice log this week due to a hamstring injury, but he's done enough to be cleared to play Sunday. Over his last five games, Jewell has tallied 41 tackles (21 solo), including 2.0 sacks, two pass defenses (including one interception) and one fumble recovery.

Iffy to play Week 14
Jewell (hamstring) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports.
Analysis: Jewell had his DNP on Thursday sandwiched between limited practices as he works through a hamstring injury he likely picked up in Carolina's Week 13 loss to Tampa Bay. His return to practice Friday is a step in the right direction, but his official status for Sunday's game might not be known until the Panthers announce their inactives list approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Downgrades to DNP on Thursday
Jewell (hamstring) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Jewell practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday, so his lack of participation Thursday represents a clear step in the wrong direction. The veteran linebacker was Carolina's leading tackler Week 13 against the Buccaneers and is an integral every-down player for a defensive front that can't spare any more attrition to injury. He'll likely need to practice in at least a limited capacity Friday to have any chance of being available for Sunday's road matchup against the Eagles.

Tending to hamstring issue
Jewell (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Leading tackler in loss
Jewell recorded 10 total tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional tackle for loss, in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: For the second consecutive week, Jewell got after the quarterback and led the Panthers in total tackles. The 30-year-old linebacker has been a significant part of Carolina's defensive improvements over their last three games, recording 25 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, and defending two passes, with one interception. Jewell has also played 100 percent of the Panthers' defensive snaps in three consecutive contests, solidifying his status as a viable IDP choice as the season progresses.

Jewell recorded nine total tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: The Iowa product was one of five Panthers to bring down Patrick Mahomes while also leading the team in total tackles during Sunday's narrow loss. Jewell has really impressed since returning from injury in Week 8, recording 31 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and two passes defended, with one interception, across his last four games. Comes up with two takeaways Sunday
Jewell recorded six tackles (two solo), an interception and a fumble recovery during Sunday's 20-17 overtime win against the Giants.
Analysis: Jewell's interception came in the red zone during the fourth quarter, protecting what was at the time a 17-14 Panthers lead. The linebacker's fumble recovery came on the first play from scrimmage in overtime to set up a game-winning field goal. He projects as a dependable IDP option in most formats for the second half of the season.

Notches 10 tackles in loss
Jewell recorded 10 total tackles (six solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 28-14 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Jewell had missed the Panthers' last three games due to a hamstring injury sustained in Carolina's Week 4 loss to the Bengals before returning Sunday. The Iowa product picked up right where he left off, notching his second double-digit tackle performance of the season. With Shaq Thompson (Achilles) sidelined for the remainder of the season, Jewell will likely take on a larger role in the Panthers' defense and could be a viable IDP option on a weekly basis moving forward.

Jewell (hamstring) is active for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Broncos, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Jewell hurt his hamstring Week 4 against Cincinnati and missed each of Carolina's subsequent three contests. Returning in Week 8?
Jewell (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos.
Analysis: Jewell has missed the Panthers' last three games after sustaining a hamstring injury in the team's Week 4 loss to the Bengals. However, it appears he could return Sunday after logging a week of limited practice sessions. If Jewell is forced to miss his fourth consecutive contest in Week 8, expect Claudin Cherelus (hamstring) and Shaquille Quarterman to see increased work in the Panthers' inside linebacker corps.

Jewell (hamstring) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice.

Jewell (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Analysis: Jewell didn't practice in any capacity this week, so it's unsurprising to see him ruled out for a third straight game. Jewell (hamstring) recorded seven total tackles (three solo) during Sunday's 34-24 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Jewell exited with a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss, but the Iowa product was still able to finish third on Carolina in total tackles. Shaq Thompson appeared to have sustained a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 4, which could be detrimental to an already weak Panthers defense. The first-year Panther has proved to be an impactful inside linebacker despite Carolina's defensive struggles across its first two games, as Jewell has logged 18 total tackles and one pass defended on 123 defensive snaps. The veteran linebacker's 3.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries were both career highs for each category. Jewell is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and the Broncos may be compelled to re-sign him ahead of the 2024 campaign based on his consistent production. Analysis: Jewell missed the entire second half of Thursday's humbling overtime loss versus the Colts with the injury, and it now appears he could miss extended time.
