Demoted in 2020
Flowers posted 47 tackles, two pass breakups and a forced fumble over 12 games during the 2020 season.
Analysis: Flowers made 30 starts over his first two seasons in the NFL, but he lost the consistent role in 2020. His demotion can be largely attributed to his own play, specifically in coverage, but the additions of Quinton Dunbar and D.J. Reed ultimately led to a reduction in playing time. Reed finished the year as the starting right cornerback, and he'll be under contract for the 2021 season. Thus, Flowers likely will serve in a situational role next season.

Back for Week 17
Flowers (hamstring) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: The 25-year-old has been sidelined since Week 12 with the hamstring injury, and he'll rejoin the active roster ahead of the final game of the regular season. Flowers should step into a rotational role at cornerback with D.J. Reed impressing as the starter during his absence.

On track to return Week 17
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Flowers (hamstring) is expected to practice fully this week, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: As long as Flowers doesn't suffer a setback, he should be back in the lineup for Sunday's divisional tilt against the 49ers. He likely won't return to a starting role, though. D.J. Reed has impressed at right cornerback and is slated to retain the job when Flowers returns. In turn, Flowers will handle a situational role on defense moving forward.

Not ready to return from IR
Coach Pete Carroll said Saturday that Flowers (hamstring) will remain on injured reserve for another week, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Analysis: Flowers was designated to return from IR on Dec. 23, but it's now confirmed the 25-year-old safety will be unavailable as Seattle hosts the division-rival Rams in Week 16. Prior to his injury, Flowers had been getting more involved defensively by recording five consecutive starts Weeks 8 through 12. Shaquill Griffin and D.J. Reed remain Seattle's top corners for a matchup against Los Angeles' 13th-ranked pass offense.

Designated to return
Flowers (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Analysis: Flowers landed on IR on Dec. 5, and he is now eligible to return to practice. Per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, Flowers is likely to suit up for Sunday's key divisional clash against the Rams. If that is the case, Flowers will likely fill a situational role in Seattle's secondary.

Likely to return Week 16
Flowers (hamstring) is on track to return in Week 16, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Flowers has been on injured reserve since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 12. He's expected to return to practice next week, and if all goes well, he'll be in the lineup for a crucial divisional showdown versus the Rams in Week 16. Quinton Dunbar has returned from IR as well, meaning Flowers will shift back to a situational role upon his return to the lineup.

Set to miss several games
Flowers (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Flowers retook the starting right cornerback role after Quinton Dunbar (knee) was placed on IR, and now Flowers will join him on the reserve list. D.J. Reed will bump into a starting role moving forward. Flowers is eligible to return for the Week 16 matchup against the Rams.

Doubtful Week 13
Flowers (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants, Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
Analysis: The 25-year-old is unlikely to play this weekend after picking up the hamstring injury last week against the Eagles, though he played every defensive snap in that contest. D.J. Reed could step into the starting role if Flowers is unavailable as expected.

Dealing with hamstring injury
Flowers (hamstring) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Flowers played all 71 defensive snaps in Monday's win over the Eagles, so it's unclear when he suffered the injury. This is worth keeping an eye on, as it would be yet another knock on the Seahawks' secondary if Flowers can't play Sunday against the Giants. With Quinton Dunbar (knee) required to serve at least one more game on IR, D.J. Reed likely would cover the outside corner spot in Flowers' place.

Primed to start Sunday
Flowers is expected to start at left cornerback Sunday versus the 49ers following news that Shaquill Griffin (concussion/hamstring) has been ruled out, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Analysis: Flowers started two games this season when Quinton Dunbar was unable to go, and now he's filling in for Griffin. The 49ers don't have any game-breaking wide receivers, especially with Deebo Samuel (hamstring) out, but Flowers will have his hands full with rookie Brandon Aiyuk and Kendrick Bourne. Over six games this season, Flowers has let up a 122.0 passer rating and a touchdown when targeted.

Starting against Dolphins
Flowers will start at cornerback Sunday against the Dolphins following news that Quinton Dunbar (knee) is inactive, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Seahawks' secondary has a severe injury bug with Dunbar, Jamal Adams (groin) and Lano Hill (back) all inactive in addition to Marquise Blair (torn ACL), who is done for the year. As a result, Flowers will return to outside cornerback where he was a full-time starter last season, and look to cover DeVante Parker and Preston Williams. Flowers has struggled this season, however, allowing a 133.9 passer rating when targeted.

Full practice participant
Flowers (hand) practiced fully Wednesday and will play in Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Flowers has a dislocated finger, but it's not holding him back in practice. He could be in line for a starting role Sunday depending on Quinton Dunbar's (knee) availability. Even if Dunbar plays, Flowers could see an increase in his snap count as the potential nickel safety since S Marquise Blair (torn ACL) is out for the year.

Suffers dislocated finger
Flowers dislocated his finger during Sunday's 35-30 win over the Patriots, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Coach Pete Carroll said Flowers will play through this injury. Flowers lost the starting job to Quinton Dunbar anyway, so his reps have been limited. However, with Marquise Blair (knee) out for the season, the nickel safety job has opened up. Ugo Amadi is the favorite to secure the role, but Flowers played safety in college and could enjoy a bump in usage moving forward.

Shakes off injury
Flowers (ankle) will play in Sunday's game against the Falcons after being left off of Wednesday's injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: It's still unclear whether Flowers or Quinton Dunbar will start at cornerback in Week 1, and it's possible the two start out in a timeshare to begin the season. Flowers played safety at Oklahoma State but converted to cornerback when he was drafted by the Seahawks in 2018, and although there are still question marks, he's made steady improvements during his NFL career. This will be a defining season for the 25-year-old.

Slight ankle sprain
Coach Pete Carroll said that Flowers was held out of Sunday's practice due to "a slightly sprained ankle," John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Flowers doesn't currently appear in any danger of missing Week 1, but it'll be worth monitoring his return to practice. His main competition for the starting gig opposite Shaquill Griffin is Quinton Dunbar, who missed the early portion of training camp due to legal issues.

Large tackle count in second year
Flowers, who posted 11 tackles over two playoff games, finished the 2019 season with 82 tackles, eight pass breakups and three interceptions over 15 reguar-season games.
Analysis: Flowers -- a fifth-round pick in 2018 -- converted from safety to cornerback when he arrived in the NFL, and there have been predictable growing pains. Most noticeable is that he allowed three catches for 74 yards and two scores to Davante Adams in the divisional-round loss to the Packers. Of course, it's tough to track Adams in coverage, but it signals that Flowers will likely remain as the No. 2 corner at best behind Shaquill Griffin next year, and the Seahawks could bring in competition…read more

Set to play Sunday
Flowers (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's divisional-round contest at Green Bay, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Flowers was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday, but that clearly was maintenance-related, as the second-year cornerback put in a full showing to wrap up the week. His production has been consistent from game to game this season, with at least five tackles in 13 of 16 appearances (including playoffs).

Limited with knee injury
Flowers was a limited participant at Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Flowers was not listed on Wednesday's injury report, so it is unclear if his limited participation Thursday was due to precaution or a legitimate injury. Friday's practice session should give a better idea of Flowers' availability for Sunday's NFC divisional-round matchup against the Packers.

Records third interception
Flowers tallied three tackles, a pass breakup and an interception in Monday's 37-30 win over the Vikings.
Analysis: Flowers and Shaquill Griffin did a solid job of shutting down Stefon Diggs, who recorded four catches for 25 yards. It was Flowers' interception on the first play of the fourth quarter that was a game-changer, though, as the Seahawks scored on the following drive to go up 17 points. The second-year pro has made major strides this season with 6.5 yards per target allowed compared to his 8.9 total last year.

Picks off Wentz
Flowers tallied seven tackles (six solo), three pass breakups and an interception in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: The Eagles were missing some of their best pass catchers, but Flowers stepped up in coverage with his most active game of the season. The 2018 fifth-rounder has yielded 39 completions and 6.7 YPA this season, combining with Shaquill Griffin for one of the league's stronger tandems.

First career sack
Flowers notched six tackles (five solo) and a sack in Monday's 27-24 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: Flowers was called for a questionable pass interference penalty during the 49ers' opening drive, and he came back on the next play with his first career sack. The Seahawks' secondary provided mutliple coverage sacks of Jimmy Garoppolo as well, as the Niners' signal caller finished with a 52.2 completion percentage and 5.4 yards per attempt.
