Signed to active roster
The Cowboys signed Evans to their active roster from their practice squad Saturday.
Analysis: Dallas had elevated Evans from the practice squad each of the previous three weeks, so it was necessary for the team to sign him to the active roster in order for him to suit up Week 11. Evans played on a season-high 46 percent of the Cowboys' defensive snaps last Sunday against the Giants, tallying two assisted tackles. His role as a depth linebacker is especially important with the news that Leighton Vander Esch (neck) won't return this season.

Signs with Dallas
Evans signed with the Cowboys' practice squad Thursday, Nick Harris of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The 2018 first-round pick recorded 159 tackles, including two sacks, four passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble with the Falcons last season, and he could see action for the Cowboys soon due to injuries to starters Leighton Vander Esch (neck) and Damone Clark (shoulder). Evans requested his release from the Eagles' practice squad in September to consider other opportunities, and it appears he'll soon have one in Dallas.

Cut from practice squad
Evans was released from the Eagles' practice squad Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Catches onto practice squad
Evans was signed to the Eagles' practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: The move corresponds to the Eagles signing linebacker Nicholas Morrow to the active roster and placing Nakobe Dean on injured reserve. After posting a career-high 159 tackles in 17 games for the Falcons in 2022, Evans was a surprise absence from training camps across the league. The 2018 first-round pick will look to get quickly acclimated to the Eagles' defense in the hopes of being called up to the active roster.

Career-high 160 tackles in 2022
Evans recorded 160 tackles (86 solo), four pass defenses, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble across 17 appearances during the 2022 campaign.
Analysis: Evans appeared in all 17 games and posted a career-high 160 tackles during his first season with Atlanta. He had a stretch from Weeks 3 through 15 during which he recorded at least 10 tackles in 10 of 12 games, including a 15-stop performance against Pittsburgh in Week 13. Evans' contract was for only one season, so he'll likely test free agency after his stellar campaign, though a return to Atlanta could be in the cards if the Falcons are willing to offer the 2018 first-round pick a multi-year…read more
