Shuffles to IR
Onwuasor (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: Onwuasor spent the first 10 weeks on IR with a knee injury. He returned in Week 11 and played just eight snaps on special teams, and now he'll go back to the reserve list. The 28-year-old linebacker will be required to miss at least three games. Harvey Langi is in line to start at inside linebacker moving forward.

Unavailable against Dolphins
Onwuasor (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins.
Analysis: Onwuasor was activated from IR last week and played against the Chargers, logging eight snaps (all on special teams). He'll go back to the sidelines again, and Harvey Langi is expected to start at inside linebacker for the time being.

Activated from IR
Onwuasor (knee) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv reports.
Analysis: Onwuasor should make his Jets debut Sunday against the Chargers, as the offseason signing has spent the entire campaign on IR up to this point. The former Ravens linebacker will likely rotate with Neville Hewitt and Harvey Langi, though Blake Cashman (hamstring) should also have a role if healthy.

Returns to practice
Onwuasor (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, indicating the beginning of his 21-day window to be activated from IR, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Analysis: Onwuasor was expected to start at inside linebacker for the Jets after spending four years in Baltimore, but he ended up on injured reserve to begin the year. If practice goes well this week, he could return for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. If he can't go, however, Neville Hewitt and Avery Williamson should continue starting at the position.

Lands on IR
The Jets placed Onwuasor (knee) on injured reserve Monday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Onwuasor was poised to log a major workload at inside linebacker with the Jets this year, but he's expected to miss at least the first month of the season with a knee injury. He'll be required to sit out the first three weeks at a minimum. For the time being, Neville Hewitt and Blake Cashman are expected to start while Avery Williamson rotates in.

Set to miss 4-to-5 weeks
Head coach Adam Gase said Onwuasor (knee) will miss four to five weeks, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Jets' defense took a self-inflicted hit by trading away Jamal Adams, and now they'll be without their starting inside linebacker for the first month. Blake Cashman and James Burgess (lower back) are next up for the starting gig, but Avery Williamson could make a push for the job as well.

Suffers knee injury
Onwuasor sustained a knee injury during Saturday's practice, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: The Jets are relying on Onwuasor to handle a key depth role at inside linebacker, following C.J. Mosley's decision to opt out, so it'll be worth monitoring how long he's forced to remain sidelined.

Joining Gang Green
Onwuasor agreed to terms Wednesday on a contract with the Jets, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Onwuasor saw his usage in Baltimore dwindle late in the 2019 campaign, after he returned from the high-ankle sprain that he sustained in early October. He'll fully healthy now, and he could prove to be a valuable insurance option at inside linebacker as he moves to New York. Both of the Jets' projected starters on the inside, C.J. Mosley (groin) and Avery Williamson (knee), are both rehabbing significant injuries.

Toughs out injury in 2019
Onwuasor had 64 tackles (48 solo), three sacks, one defended pass and one forced fumble across 14 regular-season contests in 2019.
Analysis: Onwuasor opened the season playing 90-plus percent of defensive snaps before a high-ankle caused him to miss two games in early October. Upon returning from the injury, however, his involvement on defense dwindled to a rotational role. He only exceeded 30 snaps on defense once during the campaign's final nine regular-season games. The 27-year-old will certainly benefit from an entire offseason to get healthy.

Good to go Sunday
Onwuasor (ankle) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Bills, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: Onwausor is still dealing with a high-ankle sprain related to the issue that caused him to miss two contests in October. It's unclear what sort of role Onwuasor will have in the defense, but the 27-year-old hasn't seen more than 30 defensive snaps in any of the last four games.

Officially questionable
Onwuasor (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Bills.
Analysis: Onwuasor was listed as a full participant in Friday's walk-through practice, which bodes well for his chances of suiting up in Buffalo on Sunday. The 27-year-old is nursing a high-ankle sprain related to the issue that caused him to miss two games in October. In the event that Onwuasor manages to suit up Week 14, he could realistically be limited or have a cap on his reps.

Battling ankle issue
Coach John Harbaugh said Onwuasor is dealing with a high-ankle sprain but it's not "serious," Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Harbaugh relayed this issue is related to the ankle injury that forced Onwuasor to miss two games in October, as the linebacker appeared hobbled a few times during this past Sunday's 20-17 win over the 49ers. The 27-year-old has been able to play through it, but he's been limited. Before the injury, Onwuasor was an every-down player, but he hasn't surpassed a 42-percent snap share over the past five games.

Limited showing Sunday
Onwuasor had three tackles (two solo) and a sack in Sunday's blowout win over the Texans.
Analysis: Onwuasor's role in the defense has surprisingly dwindled the past three weeks, as he saw just nine defensive snaps in the game. The cause of the downturn is unclear, but he was still effective, grabbing his third sack of the season. Fellow inside linebackers L.J. Fort and Josh Bynes saw 29 and 24 snaps, respectively, a development that bears monitoring further.

Does it all Sunday
Onwuasor racked up eight tackles (six solo), a sack and a forced fumble in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: The 27-year-old finally broke free to the quarterback for his second sack of the season and first since Week 1. Onwausor also force a Julian Edelman fumble early in the third quarter that was returned for a touchdown by Marlon Humphrey, breaking the game open for the Ravens. Onwausor also played a season-low 28 defensive snaps in the game, but he was nursing an ankle injury. Therefore, it's possible the team was managing his snap count and the reduced involvement isn't necessarily a sign of…read more

Shakes off injury
Onwuasor (ankle) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.
Analysis: Onwuasor will take the field for the first time since Week 5's overtime win against the Steelers. He'll add run-stopping support, as the 27-year-old inside linebacker posted 30 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup through the first five contests.
