Accepts voluntary opt-out
Canady will not play in 2020 after accepting the NFL's opt-out option for the year, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Canady agreed to a one-year contract with the Cowboys in March. The 2016 sixth-round pick appeared in 13 games, including three starts, with both the Jets and Ravens last season. He will now set his sights on a return in 2021.

Heads to Dallas
Canady agreed to a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Networkreports.
Analysis: A 2016 sixth-round pick, Canady made two starts in three-plus seasons with the Ravens and two more starts after the Jets picked him up on waivers in November. He fits best as a fifth cornerback and special teams player, but the Cowboys might need him to play snaps on defense if they aren't able to find a decent replacement for Byron Jones.

Tops 20 tackles for two teams
Canady finished the 2019 season with 46 tackles and one interception split between the Ravens and the Jets.
Analysis: Canady appeared in five games with the Ravens, recording 21 tackles and his lone interception of the season. He battled hamstring and thigh injuries during his time with Baltimore, and the team eventually opted to waive Canady rather than wait for him to get healthy. The cornerback was then scooped up by the Jets, for whom he recorded 25 tackles in eight games. He'll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Active Sunday
Canady (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Canady was considered questionable due to the illness but will be able to play Week 14. The 25-year-old played 71 percent of defensive snaps last week and could see an expanded role again Sunday with Jamal Adams (ankle), Arthur Maulet (calf), Brian Poole (concussion) and Matthias Farley (ribs) all inactive in the secondary.

Plucked off waivers
The Jets claimed Canady off waivers from the Ravens on Wednesday.
Analysis: Canady couldn't stay out of the trainer's room in Baltimore, as he suited up just four games. He recorded 20 tackles (18 solo) and a pass breakup in that stretch. Now that he's healthy, Canady will get another chance with Gang Green, helping provide depth since Trumaine Johnson (ankle) was placed on injured reserve.

Sitting out Sunday

Analysis: Canady will sit out his second straight contest with this thigh issue. Once he returns to action, he may be limited in the snap department after the acquisition of Marcus Peters and Jimmy Smith (knee) getting healthy.

Questionable for Sunday
Canady (thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Patriots.
Analysis: Canady participated in Friday's practice on a limited basis and last saw action in Week 6 against the Bengals. If the 25-year-old is able to go, he'll likely fill a depth role in the Ravens' secondary.
