Goes without target Sunday
Williams started but wasn't targeted during Sunday's 34-7 defeat to the Rams.
Analysis: Williams logged just 18 of 64 offensive snaps, while fellow tight end Charles Clay turned his 31 such plays into two receptions (on two targets) for 29 yards. On the season, Williams has a very slight lead on Clay in terms of share of plays on offense -- 41.5 versus 41.0 percent -- and Clay (15-198-0 on 20 targets) and Williams (11-139-1 on 13 targets) have fairly similar season-long lines. As such, neither of them are considerations in the vast majority of formats.

No output Week 11
Williams wasn't targeted during Sunday's 36-26 loss in San Francisco.
Analysis: For the second time in 11 games with the Cardinals, Kyler Murray didn't look Williams' way. Even when Murray does, though, Williams has managed just 11 catches on 13 targets to date. The team is on bye Week 12, so Williams' next opportunity to share snaps with fellow tight end Charles Clay arrives Sunday, Dec. 1 versus the Rams.

Earns two-year extension
Williams signed a two-year contract extension through 2021 with the Cardinals on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Williams inked a one-year deal with Arizona in May, and he's made enough of an impression in his 10 games with the team to warrant the extension. The 25-year-old has 11 catches for 139 yards and one touchdown while working as the Cardinals' No. 2 tight end this season.

Good to go Sunday
Williams (illness) does not have an injury designation heading into Sunday's matchup with San Francisco, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Williams missed Wednesday's practice with the illness before upgrading his participation on each successive day. He has made exactly one catch in all but two games this season.

Bumps to limited practice
Williams (illness) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Working through an illness this week, Williams followed up Wednesday's absence with some reps one day later. He'll look to ditch the health concern entirely by the release of Friday's injury report.

Comes down with illness
Williams (illness) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Assuming he's able to ditch the illness by week's end, Williams will continue to split TE reps with fellow veteran Charles Clay. On the season, Williams has a slight lead in offensive snap share -- 41.4 versus 37.4 percent -- but Clay leads, 17-13, on the target front through 10 games.

Reels in another reception
Williams had one catch (on two targets) for 15 yards during Sunday's 30-27 loss in Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Aside from getting blanked in Week 3 and scoring a TD on three targets three games later, Williams has recorded exactly one catch in each of the Cardinals' eight other contests. Such production isn't intriguing, to say the least, and Williams continues to split the TE workload with Charles Clay, seeing 44 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday to the latter's 46 percent. Expect the status quo to remain moving forward, which leaves little room for Williams to produce.

Notches one reception Week 9
Williams compiled one catch (on two targets) for 12 yards during Thursday's 28-25 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Williams received both of his targets on the Cardinals' first drive of the game, and despite getting 42 of 57 offensive snaps to fellow tight end Charles Clay's 24, the former didn't make an impression the rest of the way. Aside from a touchdown in Week 6, Williams hasn't made much of an impact this season, topping out at 34 receiving yards during that same game. No matter, the aforementioned duo will continue to split the TE reps in some fashion on a weekly basis.

Targeted once in loss
Williams caught his only target for a nine-yard gain during Sunday's 31-9 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Fellow tight end Charles Clay went off Sunday for a team-leading 88 yards, but Williams stayed in second gear, catching a single pass for the sixth time in seven games. The former Raven has a single touchdown this season and just two red-zone targets. Williams is a poor play in Thursday's matchup against the league's best pass defense, the 49ers.

Upgrades to full participation
Williams (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.
Analysis: After following back-to-back DNPs with a limited practice to wrap up last week, Williams appears to be much healthier this time around. Look for Williams to continue splitting TE reps with fellow tight end Charles Clay on Sunday at New Orleans.

Limited Wednesday
Williams (ankle) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Williams is slightly ahead of last week's DNP/LP/LP listings on Cardinals injury reports. Despite dealing with the ankle injury this past Sunday against the Giants, he still roughly split the TE reps with fellow veteran Charles Clay at 49 percent versus 46 percent, respectively. Assuming Williams gets through Week 8 prep unscathed, a similar breakdown can be expected Sunday at New Orleans.

Posts one catch Sunday
Williams (ankle) caught his only target for five yards during Sunday's 27-21 road victory over the Giants.
Analysis: After following a DNP/LP/LP practice regimen last week, Williams was given a questionable tag but eventually suited up for this contest. Production has been hard to come by, though, as it's taken him seven games to eclipse the century mark in receiving yards on the season. Expect Williams (49 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday) and Charles Clay (46 percent) to continue splitting TE reps for the Cardinals.

Available Sunday
Williams (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's road game versus the Giants, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Williams' practice reps were impacted by an ankle injury this week, but he'll brush it off and join Charles Clay as the Cardinals' top two tight ends. With Christian Kirk (ankle) still unavailable, the offense may continue to operate with more two-TE sets, which has allowed Williams to see the field for 57 percent of the snaps on that side of the ball over the last two contests.

Uncertain to face Giants
Williams (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams was held out of Wednesday's practice but managed limited participation Thursday and Friday. While he hasn't been a consistent part of the Arizona passing game, he averaged 41 snaps the past two weeks with coach Kliff Kingsbury cutting down on his use of four-wide formations. Darrell Daniels could take on extra playing time if Williams is ruled out Sunday morning.

Upgrades to limited practice
Williams (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Williams is progressing well in his recovery from an ankle issue, and he appears to have a shot of suiting up against the Giants on Sunday. The fifth-year pro scored his first touchdown of the season Week 6 against Atlanta, while drawing a season-high three targets and playing the most snaps on offense of all Arizona's tight ends. If he's able to get healthy and log another impressive performance, Williams could begin climbing the team's depth chart.

Tending to ankle injury
Williams didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: On the heels of scoring his first TD in a Cardinals uniform Sunday against the Falcons, Williams focused on rehab and didn't make an appearance on the field for the first session of Week 7 prep. He'll have to more chances to make a positive impression on the training staff before the team flies to New York to take on the Giants this weekend.

Catches first TD as Cardinal
Williams caught all three of his targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-33 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: It's the first time this season the tight end has seen more than one target in a game, and the TD was his first of the year. Williams is a secondary part of Arizona's passing game for now, but he's at least proving his reliability to Kyler Murray -- he's caught all seven of the targets tossed his way this year.

Sparse production again
Williams notched one catch (on one target) for seven yards during Sunday's 26-23 win at Cincinnati.
Analysis: Down two wide receivers -- Christian Kirk (ankle) and Damiere Byrd (hamstring) -- in this contest, coach Kliff Kingsbury went with more 12 personnel than he has all season. The result was a season-high snap share for Williams, who was slightly out-snapped by fellow tight end Charles Clay, 44-43. However, neither player has added much to the Cardinals' 19th-ranked passing attack, with Williams putting up a 4-64-0 line on four targets through five contests.

Another 20-yard catch
Williams reeled in his only target for 21 yards during Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Williams has been targeted three times this season, going for 21, 21 and 15 yards on those catches. With a whopping 19 YPT, he's outpacing fellow tight end Charles Clay (3.8 YPT on six targets) by a long shot. Both Williams and Clay have received 24.7 percent of the snaps on offensive this season, though, so it's tough to rely on either for production.

Gets 17 percent share of snaps
Williams played 13 of the Cardinals' 75 offensive snaps during Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Williams' 17 percent share was nearly doubled by Charles Clay's 33 percent, and the former wasn't targeted while the latter has four looks on the season. Considering neither Williams nor Clay are getting a large enough workload and negligible attention from rookie quarterback Kyler Murray, the tight end position isn't much of a priority in the Cardinals offense. As a result, Williams doesn't hold much sway in the fantasy realm.

Targeted once Sunday
Williams gathered in his only target for 21 yards during Sunday's 23-17 defeat at Baltimore.
Analysis: Williams has maintained his share of the offensive snaps through two games with the Cardinals, getting 25 and 23 percent so far. While he's been targeted just twice, his 18 YPT on two catches is eye-popping. Nonetheless, Arizona's scheme relies on four and sometimes five receivers on most plays, meaning the fifth-year tight end doesn't have much utility.

Gets another start
Williams got the start in Thursday's preseason loss to Oakland, finishing the night without any targets.
Analysis: Williams also started the preseason opener and also finished without any targets. He may have a role in the Arizona offense, but Charles Clay and Ricky Seals-Jones are more likely to catch passes from Kyler Murray.

Resurfacing in Arizona
Williams announced via Twitter that he is signing with the Cardinals.
Analysis: Williams, who caught 16 passes in 13 games last season, never really panned out on a tight-end friendly Ravens team over the past few years. However, he's now picked an interesting spot to revive his career in a Kliff Kingsbury-led offense quarterbacked by 2019 No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray. Having showed impressive after-the-catch ability in college at Minnesota, there's upside to be had if Williams can secure a roster spot and ultimately steal snaps from Charles Clay and Ricky Seals-Jones.

Minor role in contract year
Williams appeared in 13 games in 2018, recording 16 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets.
Analysis: The Minnesota product was more effective in 2018 compared to his 2017 season, but the writing was on the wall for Williams when Baltimore spent two high draft picks on tight ends this past April. Williams did produce when given the opportunity, as evidenced by his 8.4 YPT mark and 94 percent catch rate, but the chances were hardly there on a consistent basis. Provided that the Ravens don't re-sign Williams, he should draw some interest in free agency, because he does have tools that aren't…read more

Quiet in win
Williams caught one of his two targets from Sunday's 20-12 win over the Buccaneers for a six-yard gain.
Analysis: Though he hauled in a touchdown pass in Week 14, Williams has been ineffective with Lamar Jackson at quarterback, with just two catches in four games. Sunday featured the first time all season that Williams was targeted for a pass and didn't catch it, but that's a tiny sample size -- just 17 targets all season. If Williams was unable to put up big numbers against a bottom-10 pass defense in Tampa Bay, it'd be a surprise if he broke out against a top-10 Chargers pass defense Saturday.

Scores touchdown in Kansas City
Williams caught his lone target, a 10-yard touchdown pass, during Sunday's 27-24 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: Williams tied the game up in the third quarter when Lamar Jackson made the run fake and tossed it to Williams out in the flat. Williams reached back across his body to reel in the errant pass and cut upfield for the score. It was the fourth-year tight end's first touchdown of the season and first reception from the rookie passer. The Ravens tight end room has been hard to read all season, especially when mixed with a run-first attack with Jackson under center. Sunday brings a bottom-10 pass…read more

Absent from injury report
Williams (shoulder) is absent from Wednesday's injury report.
Analysis: Williams suffered a stinger during Sunday's win over the Falcons but appears to have already gotten fully healthy. The 2015 second-round pick is on track to suit up Week 14 and will serve his usual depth role in Baltimore's offense.

Nursing stinger
Williams suffered a stinger during Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Analysis: Williams was also evaluated for a concussion, but was ultimately cleared and avoided entering the league-mandated concussion protocol. It remains to be seen whether the depth tight end's injury will significantly hamper him for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Falcons.

Healthy scratch Sunday
Williams (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Steelers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's the second straight game Williams will sit out without an injury designation. Williams is in the last year of his rookie contract -- the Ravens drafted him in the second round in 2015 -- so this could be a sign it's the end of the road for him in Baltimore.
