Registers ninth sack of season
Mack tallied a sack and four tackles in Chicago's 35-16 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: The 50 tackles Mack had was his highest in three years with the Bears, though he's posted between 47 and 50 tackles in each of those seasons. He's also had two straight seasons with fewer than 10 sacks, and although he's still an amazing NFL player, his IDP value is limited in leagues in which he's listed as a linebacker. After the team completes its playoff run, he'll enter the fourth year of a seven-year deal and likely will maintain similar fantasy value that he's had the past couple seasons.

Ready for Week 17
Mack (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Packers.
Analysis: The 29-year-old has been battling the shoulder injury since early December, though he has yet to miss a game this season. Mack has only 16 tackles (nine solo), 1.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble over his past seven games.

Reps limited Thursday
Mack (shoulder) was held to limited participation during the Bears' practice session Thursday.
Analysis: There's no great concern just yet regarding the three-time All-Pro's potential Week 17 availability, as he has frequently had his practice reps managed throughout the 2020 campaign. Last week alone, Mack submitted a full session Wednesday before being listed as a DNP and a limited participant the subsequent two practices. Mack hasn't missed a contest all season, and it's possible Chicago is merely managing its star defender's workload heading into a vital Week 17 matchup against the Packers.

Ready to play Sunday
Mack (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game at Jacksonville.
Analysis: The 29-year-old continues to battle the shoulder injury but has yet to miss a game in 2020, and that won't be changing Week 16. Mack has 44 total tackles, eight sacks, one interception and three forced fumbles through 14 games.

Held out Thursday
Mack (shoulder) did not participate during the Bears' practice session Thursday.
Analysis: A full practice session from Mack on Wednesday, contrasted by a Thursday DNP, may seem like cause for alarm on the surface. Coach Matt Nagy clarified, however, that Mack's Thursday practice absence was considered to be "more precautionary," per Patrick Finley of The Chicago Sun-Times. The three-time All-Pro has faced shoulder, back and ankle issues over the past two months alone, but he remains without a game absence on the 2020 campaign.

Back in sack column
Mack recorded half a sack and three tackles in Chicago's 33-27 victory over the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: After not finding the sack column in four games, Mack now has 1.5 sacks over the last two weeks, and he could add to that total in a favorable Week 16 matchup against the Jaguars, making him a sack-dependent IDP option in championship week.

Cleared for showdown in Minnesota
Mack (shoulder) is active Week 15 against the Vikings.
Analysis: While Mack missed a bit of practice time this week, there never appeared to be much concern he would miss this must-win divisional tilt. Mack is coming off a two-tackle, one-sack performance last week, and had three tackles and an interception when he last faced the Vikings in Week 10.

Questionable for divisional tilt
Mack (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Vikings.
Analysis: Mack followed a FP/DNP/LP practice regimen this week. The dominant pass rusher rarely misses time, and with a limited session to end the week, he seems to be on the right track for a must-win divisional contest Sunday. Mack has 1.5 sacks over his past three matchups against the Vikings.

Misses practice Thursday
Mack (shoulder) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Mack practiced in full Wednesday, so it's somewhat worrying to see him absent Thursday. On the other hand, the Bears have regularly managed the star pass rusher's reps all season, so it's possible that his absence is once again maintenance-related.

Dominant outing
Mack registered a safety, a sack, two tackles and a recovered fumble in Chicago's 36-7 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Analysis: After notching 6.5 sacks over the first eight games of the season, these were the first two sacks he's recorded in five games, and his lack of consistent tackles gives him a very low weekly scoring floor in IDP leagues.

Gets green light to face Texans
Mack (shoulder) has been deemed active for Sunday's game against Houston.
Analysis: The three-time All-Pro battled through a back issue to suit up last Sunday against the Lions, ultimately fielding 81 percent of the defensive workload in a losing effort. A shoulder injury kept him out of practice Wednesday and Thursday, but partial participation from the 29-year-old Friday signaled he would have a chance to face Houston. Mack has sustained a high level of play this season overall, as he currently leads the NFC in Pro Bowl voting among outside linebackers. He does, however,…read more

Questionable but expected to play
Mack (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against Houston but is expected to suit up, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mack has consistently played through questionable tags all season while dealing with a back issue, and it appears that pattern is set to continue with this new shoulder injury. Despite his limitations due to injury, Mack has compiled a respectable 6.5 sacks this season, though he hasn't posted one since Week 8.

Dealing with new injury
Mack (shoulder) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Mack has manged his practice reps during the season due to a back issue, as he seems to be dealing with a new injury. Per Adam Jahns of The Athletic, Mack is classified as day-to-day, so the issue doesn't appear to be too serious. Mack's participation level at practice during the rest of the week will be a better indicator of his chances to play Sunday against the Texans.

All clear to face Detroit
Mack (back) is active for Chicago's Week 13 matchup against the Lions.
Analysis: The five-time Pro Bowler did not practice with the team Wednesday or Thursday, but he was able to log a limited session Friday. Mack also had his practice workload curtailed in late-October because of a back issue, but he still has not missed a game in 2020. He's gone three consecutive outings without a sack after posting five between Weeks 5 and 8.

Mack (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: The 29-year-old was unable to practice Wednesday and Thursday due to the back injury, but he was able to return as a limited participant Friday. Mack seems on track to be available for this weekend's divisional matchup, barring a setback.

No practice Thursday
Mack (back) did not practice Thursday.
Analysis: Mack hasn't practice in any capacity this week, but it sounds like he still has a fair shot to suit up against the Lions on Sunday. Coach Matt Nagy called Mack's absence from practice "precautionary," per PrideOfDetroit.com. The star pass rusher has 6.5 sacks through 11 contests.

Late injury add
Mack (back) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Mack was a late add to the revised injury report Wednesday with the back issue, an injury that has forced him to miss practice time already this season. It's likely Mack's absence was due to soreness and it was more of a preventative measure, but it's unclear at this point. Mack's participation level at practice during the rest of the week will be a better indicator of his chances to play Sunday against the Lions.

Picks off first pass of season
Mack intercepted a pass and tallied three stops in the Bears' 19-13 loss to the Vikings on Monday.
Analysis: Although Mack has posted between two and five tackles in each game this season, he's been a fantastic playmaker with 6.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and now an interception. When used in IDP leagues as a linebacker, he's dependent upon those big plays because he has a low scoring floor when they don't occur.

Remains hot
Mack recorded a sack and five tackles in Chicago's 26-23 overtime loss to the Saints on Sunday.
Analysis: Mack notched the only sack the Bears had in the game, and he's now posted at least one sack in four straight games, giving him 6.5 on the season. He's also tallied at least four tackles in each of the last three games, and although he's not the IDP legend he was a few years ago, as long as he stays hot, he's a solid fantasy option.

Active as expected Week 8
Mack (ankle) is active for Sunday's Week 8 tilt against the Saints.
Analysis: The perennial Pro Bowler was trending in the right direction this weekend, and this officially confirms his availability. Mack has played his customary pivotal role in the heart of the Bears defense thus far this season, posting 25 tackles, 5.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble through seven games.

Looks ready to play Sunday
Mack (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: On a short week following Monday night's loss to the Rams, the Bears limited the practice time of some of their key players Wednesday through Friday. Mack was one of the veterans whose reps were restricted, as he sat out the first two sessions of the week before upgrading to limited activity Friday. His availability will be confirmed around 2:55 p.m. ET, when the Bears release their inactive list for the Week 8 contest.

Questionable for Week 8
Mack (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints.

Mack (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Analysis: The Bears have regularly allowed Mack rest days this season, so as long as he's able to resume practicing ahead of Sunday's contest against the Saints, there won't be much reason for concern about his availability. The star pass rusher has notched a sack in five of his last six games.

Stays hot in loss
Mack notched a sack and four tackles in Chicago's 24-10 loss to the Rams on Monday.
Analysis: With Chicago playing from behind for much of the game, the Rams were able to run the ball often, but Mack was still able to enter the sack column for the fifth time in six games. Although he typically records about six tackles per game, his ability to pile up sacks gives him weekly upside in IDP leagues.

Ready for MNF
Mack (back) is active for Monday's game versus the Rams.
Analysis: Mack started dealing with back soreness Friday but has made enough progress to suit up for Monday's NFC showdown. The veteran edge rusher has generated 4.5 sacks and 15 quarterback pressures through the first six games, and he continues to have high upside in IDP formats. He has a tough test ahead, though, as Jared Goff has been sacked on just 3.6 percent of dropbacks this season, sixth in the league.

Mack (back) was limited during Saturday's practice and is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Rams.
Analysis: Mack popped up on the injury report Friday with back soreness, but coach Matt Nagy has maintained optimism that the star pass rusher will be ready for Monday Night Football. The limited participation Saturday bodes well for Mack's chances to play. Mack recorded a sack and four tackles in the Bears' 23-16 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Mack continued his outstanding rebound campaign, recording a sack for the second-straight week, and he's now found the sack column in all but one game this season. Although he's averaging just 3.5 tackles, his ability to get to the quarterback makes him a weekly upside play in IDP leagues.

Analysis: Mack was causing Tom Brady and the Buccaneers' offensive line trouble all night, recording his first multi-sack performance since Week 4 of the 2019 season. He's now posted 3.5 sacks over the last four games, and he may be turning the tide as he tries to return to the form that made him a high-level IDP earlier in his career.

Mack (knee) is active for Chicago's Week 4 matchup against Indianapolis.
Analysis: The three-time All-Pro has coped with a knee issue throughout the first month of the season, though he has not been forced to miss any starts and has fielded at least 83 percent of the defensive snaps in every game. Mack has 1.5 sacks and three QB hits over the past two weeks, as he prepares to face a Colts offensive line that is tied for third-best in the NFL with just one sack surrendered per game.

Mack (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Posts five stops
Mack notched half a sack and five tackles in the Bears' 30-26 victory over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: After picking up his first sack of the season in Week 2, Mack was able to add to his total while also posting a season high with five tackles. With just 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks on the season, he offers fantasy managers an acceptable floor, but unless he's able to put up consistent sack totals, his upside will remain disappointing.

Mack (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Analysis: Mack has been listed as questionable ahead of each of the Bears' first three games, but just like the previous two weeks, he's once again received clearance to play. The star edge rusher played more than 80 percent of the defensive snaps in both of the first two contests, and he shouldn't face any major limitations Week 3 either.

Mack (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta.
Analysis: Mack put together a trio of limited practice sessions this week, and official word on his status for Week 3 may not come until the Bears release their inactive list around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. According to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, however, Mack is clearly trending in the right direction. Analysis: The three-time All-Pro may face a first-time starter if he is able to suit up Week 3 against the Falcons, as Matt Gono is expected to fill in at right tackle for the injured Kaleb McGary (knee-MCL). Notches first sack of season
Mack recorded a sack, a fumble recovery and three tackles in the Bears' 17-13 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: After posting four tackles in the opener, Mack was able to pick up his first sack of the season to bolster his fantasy performance. As he comes off a disappointing 2019 campaign in which he recorded just 8.5 sacks and 47 tackles, he'll need to ramp things up quickly if he's going to return to the dominant IDP force that he was from 2015-2018.

Mack (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Analysis: Mack has been slowed by the knee injury for a couple weeks, but it did not prevent him from taking the field in Week 1 and will not keep him off the field this week, either. Status in question for Sunday
Mack (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Giants.
Analysis: Mack has been a limited participant in practice all week, but considering he followed a similar path leading up to the season opener, there shouldn't be much concern about his status Sunday. Mack (knee) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Mack came into the season opener dealing with the knee injury in practice and still suited up, so this could be a trend going forward. At this point in the week, barring an injury setback, expect Mack on the field for Week 2 against the Giants.

Lackluster in opener
Mack posted four tackles in the Bears 27-23 win over the Lions Sunday.
Analysis: With the Lions playing with a lead for the majority of this contest, there weren't many obvious passing situations for Mack to take advantage of. Unfortunately, the four tackles he recorded were roughly the average number of stops he recorded in each of his first two years with the Bears. Unless he returns to his prior form as a dominant pass rusher, his IDP value may not align with his reputation as a real-life defender.

Mack (knee) is active for Sunday's game in Detroit.
Analysis: Mack was deemed questionable heading into the week after the knee issue limited his participation in practices Wednesday through Friday, but he showed enough in pregame warmups to gain clearance for the season opener. After a brilliant debut season with Chicago in 2018, Mack's production took a step back along with many of his teammates in the Bears' 8-8 season in 2019, as he finished with his fewest sacks (8.5) since his rookie campaign.

Analysis: Mack appeared to be a full participant in training camp, but a knee injury limited him during all three of this week's practice sessions. Mack (knee) was listed as a limited participant for Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: It's unclear how Mack suffered the injury as he wasn't limited during training camp, so the team could just be giving him some rest ahead of Week 1. Quiet in finale
Mack recorded one tackle in the Bears' 21-19 victory over the Vikings in Week 17, and he concluded the season with 47 tackles 8.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.
Analysis: Aside from his rookie season in 2014, this is the first time that Mack posted fewer than 10.5 sacks in a season. In addition, he tied his career-low in tackles, which he set last season. Along with his diminished numbers, his classification change from defensive end to linebacker stripped his massive fantasy value, and it'll be difficult to expect more than middling fantasy production when he returns to the Bears in 2020, which will be the third year of a six-year deal.

Mack recorded a sack and three tackles in Chicago's 19-14 victory over the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: Mack collected his first sack in four weeks and now has 6.5 on the season. In addition, he's only surpassed four tackles a single time since Week 1. Since he's moved to the linebacker position in IDP leagues, Mack is no longer the elite fantasy producer we've seen in the past, though he possesses multi-sack upside every week.
