Released from practice squad
The Cardinals cut Brown from the practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: Brown has been unable to secure a role to start the season after spending the last two years in Seattle and compiling 30 receptions for 386 yards and seven touchdowns over 30 games. The 30-year-old receiver likely will look for another practice squad role.

Inks practice-squad deal with Cards
The Cardinals signed Brown to the practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: After tours of duty with two NFC West teams to start his career -- the Cardinals, then Seahawks -- Brown spent some time with the 49ers in training camp but ultimately was released in late August. Less than a month later, he found employment with the Cardinals yet again, only this time he'll have to work his way up to the active roster. And at the moment, just one of the six wide receivers on the 53-man -- Christian Kirk, groin -- is tending to an injury.

Cut by 49ers
The 49ers released Brown on Thursday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: After getting a week to prove his worth with the 49ers, Brown has been jettisoned in favor of a new pair of receivers (Kevin White and River Cracraft). Brown has been used regularly but in a limited role during seven pro seasons, so he's likely only a phone call away from another chance elsewhere in the league

Finds home in Bay Area
Brown agreed to a contract with the 49ers on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Brown's tour of the NFC West continues. After spending the first five years of his career with the Cardinals, he was a depth wideout in Seattle the past two seasons. He now joins a banged-up San Francisco receiving corps, with Deebo Samuel (foot) and Richie James (wrist) on the reserve/non-football injury list and Jalen Hurd (knee) awaiting word on whether he tore his ACL. For his career, Brown has averaged more than two targets per game in just two seasons.

Tries out with Texans
Brown had a tryout with the Texans on Sunday, Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports.
Analysis: Brown played a limited role in Seattle over the last two years, posting 30 receptions for 220 yards and two touchdowns through 30 games. He wasn't dependable with seven catchless games in 2019, but he could add solid depth elsewhere. He could even do so in Houston, but he likely would be on the roster bubble -- despite DeAndre Hopkins' departure -- after the team added Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb this offseason.

Likely leaving Seattle
Brown isn't likely to re-sign with Seattle, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Brown signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract during the 2018 offseason and made it through both years of his deal. He started six of his 30 regular-season games and averaged just 24.2 offensive snaps per contest, catching 30 of 47 targets for 386 yards and seven touchdowns. Brown isn't likely to find a top-three WR role as a 30-year-old free agent, but his ability to contribute on special teams and in the red zone could lead to some interest for a depth job. Meanwhile, the Seahawks don't have…read more

Limited usage all year
Brown, who wasn't targeted in the Sunday's 28-23 playoff loss to the Packers, finished with 16 catches for 220 yards and two touchdowns over 14 regular-season games.
Analysis: Brown started the season as a starter but slowly saw his usage disintegrate as David Moore got healthy and Malik Turner took on additional duties. The 30-year-old Brown didn't play more than 11 offensive snaps in any of the last five regular-season contests, and he logged just nine in the only playoff game in which he played. He'll be an unrestricted free agent in March, and even if the team re-signs him, Brown won't be on fantasy radars in 2020.

Ready for divisional round
Brown (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's divisional-round game in Green Bay, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: The same can be said for fellow wideout Malik Turner, who passed all the phases of the concussion protocol. Brown thus should be active this weekend, but his opportunities could be few and far between due to the receiving corps getting back to full capacity.

Full participant Thursday
Brown (knee) was a full participant on Thursday's injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Brown sprained his knee during the Seahawks' regular-season finale, and while he was downgraded to out in advance of the team's wild-card win at Philadelphia, his absence eventually was chalked up to a personal matter. With a full practice under his belt this week, he's poised to work as a periphery option in Seattle's passing attack Sunday in Green Bay but could see a few more snaps if Malik Turner doesn't get through the concussion protocol.

Limited participant Wednesday
Brown (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Brown missed the wild-card win over the Eagles, but Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reported Monday that Brown sat that game out due to a personal matter rather than because of his knee injury. Even so, Brown's limitations Wednesday suggest he's not quite yet back to full speed, so he'll likely need to put in an uncapped practice Thursday or Friday to guarantee his availability for Sunday's divisional-round game versus the Packers.

Should return for divisional round
Brown (knee/personal) is expected to play in Sunday's divisional-round game versus the Packers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: According to Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle, Brown's knee isn't considered a major issue anymore, and he missed the wild-card win versus the Eagles while tending to a personal matter. If he puts in a full practice Wednesday, it'll extinguish all doubt about Brown's status. His usage Sunday will likely be minimal, especially if Malik Turner (concussion) is active as well.

Missing playoff clash
Brown (knee) was downgraded to out for Sunday's wild-card game against the Eagles.
Analysis: Brown originally was slated to miss a few weeks with the knee sprain but surprisingly was listed as questionable for the game Friday. Brown's absence paves the way for David Moore and John Ursua to see a slight uptick in depth receiver reps behind usual starters Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

Listed as questionable for playoff opener
Brown (knee/personal) is listed as questionable for Sunday's playoff game against the Eagles, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis: Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times previously suggested the Brown could miss a few weeks, so it's a little surprising to see the wideout listed as questionable. Either way, Brown's impact in the Seattle offense has been limited of late, with just two of his 16 catches on the season having occurred after Oct. 20.

Set to miss time
Brown is expected to miss "a few weeks" while dealing with a knee sprain, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: This news puts Brown's chances to suit up in the Seahawks' first playoff game Sunday severely in jeopardy. He's yet to officially be ruled out, but his absence would be felt in Sunday's game against the Eagles. His absence will open the door for David Moore and John Ursua to see a slight uptick in depth snaps at receiver.

Injury details revealed
Brown suffered a knee sprain during Sunday's 26-21 loss to the 49ers, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Brown played just three offensive snaps before leaving the contest, and now his status is in jeopardy for the Seahawks' first playoff game Sunday against the Eagles. The 29-year-old is used sparingly on offense anyway, but with Malik Turner dealing with a concussion, Brown's depth could be useful. If he's indeed ruled out for Sunday, rookie John Ursua could garner additional snaps in the slot again.

Hurts knee in Week 17
Brown injured his knee in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers and won't return, Seahawks digital media reporter John Boyle reports.
Analysis: Seattle's receiving corps will be one member short for the remainder of the season finale. Brown finishes the 2019 regular season with 16 catches for 220 yards and two touchdowns.

Snags pass in win
Brown caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Sunday's reception was just Brown's second since Week 7 as he's been deemphasized in the Seattle offense. It'd be foolish to count on the veteran to turn it around this late in the season, but he does have a favorable matchup Sunday, and Josh Gordon's suspension does open up some snaps. In Week 16, Brown and the Seahawks will be taking on his old team, the Cardinals -- owners of the league's worst pass defense, and one against which he caught three passes for 50 yards in Week 4.

Suiting up Monday
Brown is active for Monday's game against the Vikings, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Brown was a healthy scratch for the last two games but will have a chance to suit up Monday. The 29-year-old is buried on the depth chart with the team's other wide receivers currently healthy, so he's unlikely to find much involvement in the offense versus Minnesota.

Healthy scratch again
Brown (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's tilt against the Eagles.
Analysis: Brown will miss a second straight game as a healthy scratch. With the addition of Josh Gordon to Seattle's wide receiver corps, it appears that Brown doesn't factor into the team's plans on offense.

Sitting out Monday
Brown (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game at San Francisco.
Analysis: Brown usage waned in the previous two contests, when he logged 28 and 23 percent of the offensive snaps. He won't earn any at all Week 10, leaving Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Josh Gordon, David Moore and Malik Turner as the Seahawks' available wide receivers.

Logs 17 offensive snaps
Brown didn't record a target on 17 offensive snaps in Sunday's 40-34 overtime win against the 49ers.
Analysis: This is Brown's second straight game without a target, as he has fallen behind David Moore (41 snaps) in the pecking order. The Seahawks claimed Josh Gordon off waivers from the Patriots on Friday, so Brown's role could diminish further in Week 10's matchup against the 49ers.
