The Seahawks gave up 30 points and 354 yards to the Vikings in Week 13 and play the Rams on Sunday Night Football.
Analysis: Mirroring its performance for much of the season, Seattle had three takeaways but zero sacks in the victory. Overall the Seahawks rank third in takeaways (27) and 29th in sacks (23), while also ranking bottom-third in total defense (368.9 YPG) and scoring (24.4 PPG). Los Angeles has been marred by inconsistency on offense all season and struggle with giveaways (20), but they've given up only 19 sacks. The Seattle D/ST is a decent bet for a takeaway or two, but the lack of consistency elsewhere…read more

The Seahawks had five takeaways in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Eagles and will play the Vikings on Monday.
Analysis: Seattle also added three sacks despite being without Jadeveon Clowney (hip/knee), as Philadelphia had zero answers throughout the contest. The Seahawks now rank third in the league in takeaways (24) but are 27th in sacks. The ability to contain RB Dalvin Cook figures to be a sticking point in the matchup, and Seattle is allowing 4.5 yards per carry this season. Clowney's availablity, or lack thereof, should certainly be considered when deciding on the Seattle D/ST for Week 13.

Seattle comes out of its bye week allowing 372.9 YPG and 25.4 PPG and will play the Eagles on Sunday.
Analysis: The Seahawks delivered one of their better defensive outings of the season Week 10 against the 49ers by recording five sacks and three takeaways, both areas in which they struggled in recent weeks. Jadeveon Clowney put the cherry on top with a fumble return for a touchdown. QB Carson Wentz has been solid throughout the season, but the Eagles have received virtually zero contributions from their wide receivers in recent weeks and the offense has been inconsistent as a result. Philadelphia is…read more

Seattle surrendered 418 yards in Week 9's 40-34 overtime win over Tampa Bay and will play San Francisco on Monday.
Analysis: It was a dud of a performance for the Seahawks as they managed only one takeaway and two sacks against one of the worst offenses in the league in both categories. Despite only one takeaway in the last two games, Seattle still ranks near the top of the NFL with 16, but the poor pass rush (15 sacks) has been a season-long problem. Meanwhile the 49ers have allowed only 12 sacks and are second in the league in rushing (171.1 YPG), while the Seahawks allow 4.7 YPC. Seattle' recent lack of defensive…read more

The Seahawks surrendered 510 yards and 20 points to the Falcons in Week 8 and will play the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: Seattle took a 24-0 lead into halftime and spent the second half attempting to bleed the clock, allowing Atlanta a chance to rack up some heavy yardage. The Seahawks still provided plenty of value with three takeaways and and two sacks. QB Jameis Winston and the Bucs have 17 giveaways this season, making this a prime matchup for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks surrendered 347 yards and 16 offensive points during Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Ravens and will play the Falcons in Week 8.
Analysis: Baltimore scored a pair of defensive touchdowns to tilt the scoreline, and Seattle struggled to create big defensive plays of its own with zero takeaways and one zero-yard sack. The Seahawks still rank tied-sixth with 12 takeaways but have struggled rushing the passer with only 11 sacks. The Falcons are enduring a horrid season and are in the bottom half of the league with 12 giveaways, but the offense still has the potential to put up some point, though the question of QB Matt Ryan's (ankle)…read more

The Seahawks allowed 29 points and 477 yards to the Rams in Week 5 and will play the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: Seattle did force a pair of turnovers, but the Los Angeles offense proved difficult to defend as expected. The bigger issue for the Seahawks is they rank in the bottom third of the league in sacks (10), with offseason additions Ezekiel Ansah and Jadeveon Clowney recording only one apiece. The Browns are coming off a disastrous performance on Monday Night Football in which they totaled only 180 yards and three points. QB Baker Mayfield has endured an up-and-down season and leads the NFL with…read more

The Seahawks are allowing 319.0 YPG entering Thursday's game against the Rams.
Analysis: Seattle had a defensive TD and gave up only 10 points to the Cardinals in Week 4, but they'll face a significantly tougher test on a short week on Thursday. The Rams are coming off a game in which they totaled over 500 yards and scored 40 points, but they still lost in part to four turnovers. The Seahawks rank middle of the league in both sacks (10) and takeaways (six), but the Rams' ball security issues appear to be more than a one-game anomaly. The Seahakws should hardly be a high-confidence…read more

The Seahawks gave up 265 total yards and 33 points in their Week 3 loss to the Saints and are set to face the Cardinals on Sunday.
Analysis: Seattle's defense has surrendered 79 points through three games this season, the eighth-highest tally in the league. What makes their Week 4 matchup with Arizona so appetizing is that the Cardinals have allowed 16 sacks so far this season, the second-most in the league behind only Tennessee. In addition, the Cardinals have yet to establish a run game, accruing an average of only 84.3 rushing yards per game, which ranks as the eighth-lowest average in the league. The Seahawks' defense should be…read more

Poona Ford (calf) and Tedric Thompson (hamstring) are each dealing with injuries that could jeopardize their statuses for Sunday's matchup with the Saints, but Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder) is expected to return for the matchup.
Analysis: Seattle's defense gave up 429 yards to the Bengals in the season opener, but they were able to bounce back against the Steelers in Week 2, holding them to just 180 passing yards and 81 rushing yards. The Seahawks draw a very favorable matchup in Week 3 against a Saints offense that will be operated by Teddy Bridgewater as Drew Brees nurses a torn ligament in his thumb. Seattle will likely have Ansah back this week and shouldn't have much trouble keeping Bridgewater and the Saints' offensive…read more

Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder) is expected to suit up against the Steelers on Sunday.
Analysis: The Seahawks managed to scratch out a Week 1 win over the Bengals but gave up 429 yards, including 395 yards through the air. They did force three turnovers and had five sacks, but it was a surprising performance with RB Joe Mixon (ankle) limited to 29 snaps and WR A.J. Green (ankle) sidelined. The Steelers are coming off a similarly surprising effort offensively, as they managed only three points and 32 rushing yards against the Patriots. Seattle defensive stock could rise significantly in…read more

Jadeveon Clowney will play defensive end as the Seahawks prepare for Sunday's season opener against the Bengals.
Analysis: Clowney will be able to focus more of his effort on rushing the passer after working as OLB in Houston for the last five years. He joins fellow offseason addition Ezekiel Ansah at DE and the pair could wreak havoc Sunday against a sub-par Bengals offensive line. QB Andy Dalton returns to provide some stability for an offense that averaged only 310.8 YPG last season, but the absence of WR A.J. Green (ankle) should limit the unit's explosiveness. Seattle allowed a 4.9 YPC and 113.2 rushing yards…read more

DE Ezekiel Ansah is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery but is on track to be ready for Week 1.
Analysis: Ansah joined the Seahawks on a one-year deal and will attempt to replace the production of the now-traded Frank Clark. The defense was solid in 2018 despite some fresh faces, ranking 16th in total defense (353.3 YPG), 11th in scoring defense (21.7 PPG) and 11th in sacks (43). LB Bobby Wagner will continue to anchor the middle of the defense as the Seahawks are likely to have a reliable unit again in 2019.

The Seahawks rank 11th in the league with 21.5 points against per game. They play the Cardinals in Week 17.
Analysis: The Seahawks defense provides a serviceable pass rush and has forced 24 turnovers this season to rank 10th in the league. There's no need for an excellent pass rush against the Cardinals, as they have a brutal offensive line that has catalyzed rookie QB Josh Rosen's struggles this season, and they rank 27th in the league with 26 turnovers (18 interceptions, eight turnovers). The Seahawks will be starting all of their healthy starters too with playoff seeding still on the line, and they'll look…read more

The Seahawks have held three straight teams below 95 rushing yards. They play the Chiefs in Week 16.
Analysis: The Seahawks showed vulnerability after allowing the 49ers to put up 26 points during an overtime loss in Week 15. No comparisons are fair between the 49ers and the Chiefs, who lead the league with 35.6 points per game and 427.3 YPG. There's a chance the Chiefs will be without RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) and WR Sammy Watkins (foot), which would be detrimental to the unit's overall explosiveness. However, QB Patrick Mahomes has led the team to at least 26 points in every game this season and…read more

The Seahawks rank ninth in the league for allowing opponents to score on 52.4 percent of red-zone trips. They play the 49ers in Week 15.
Analysis: The Seahawks played the 49ers just two weeks ago and handled them easily, allowing just 16 points and forcing three turnovers. They followed up that matchup by allowing just seven points, which essentially came in garbage time while the Seahawks were playing prevent defense. If 49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) returns for this matchup, the Seahawks may have more on their plate, but there's no reason to bench this unit with the incredible upside it holds. However, consider latching onto another…read more

The Seahawks rank ninth in the league with 20 turnovers. They play the Vikings in Week 14.
Analysis: These two teams are competing with each other for a playoff spot. The Seahawks may have the Vikings in a vulnerable corner, as Minnesota has given up at least two turnovers in four of its last five games and accrued 24 or less points in each of those outings. The Seahawks have struggled against the pass lately, so they may be exploited by QB Kirk Cousins and his oodles of pass-catchers. Nevertheless, the Seahawks will have Mychal Kendricks back as well to help shut down the run and turnover…read more

The Seahawks have allowed at least 149 rushing yards in three of the last four games. They play the 49ers in Week 13.
Analysis: Although each opponent in that span has surpassed 24 points, there's nothing shameful about allowing running backs Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley and Christian McCaffrey have field days on the ground. It would be another thing to allow 49ers RB Matt Breida the same luxury, which simply won't happen. Each of the aforementioned backs had the support of strong passing games, which Breida doesn't have in QB Nick Mullens, which will allow the Seahawks' strong corps of linebackers to zone in on the…read more

The Seahawks haven't forced a turnover in three games. They play the Panthers in Week 12.
Analysis: After a hot start with 16 turnovers in the first seven games, the Seahawks have cooled down, partially due to turnover-averse competition. The Panthers don't offer much in that realm as QB Cam Newton has thrown just six picks in 10 contests. The Seahawks do have a solid floor, allowing over 25 points just twice in the last nine games, both against the high-powered Rams. The Panthers offense has been flaky week-to-week, scoring under 21 points in four of the last six games but racking up at…read more

The Seahawks have allowed just two passers to eclipse 300 yards in the last eight weeks. They play the Packers in Week 11.
Analysis: Both times Seattle allowed over 300 yards was against Rams QB Jared Goff, who helped Los Angeles post a combined 69 points between the two outings. QB Aaron Rodgers may not have the same weapons around him, but RB Aaron Jones had a breakout game in Week 10 and WR Marquez Valdez-Scantling is an effective deep threat to complement Davante Adams. The ceiling will remain low for the Seahawks because of the chance of a shootout and because Rodgers rarely tosses interceptions, but the Packers have…read more

The Seahawks have allowed just one passer to eclipse 200 yards in six of the last seven games. They play the Rams in Week 10.
Analysis: The one passer to surpass 200 yards in that span was Rams QB Jared Goff, who compiled 321 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a 33-31 win over the Seahawks in Week 5. This game will be in Los Angeles, and the Seahawks will have plenty on their plate again. The Rams have scored 29 or more points in eight of nine games and have only turned the ball over twice in the last four weeks.
