Nick Foles: Getting Some First-Team Reps
Though Michael Vick opened up with the Eagles' first-team offense at the first day of the team's organized team activities on Monday, Foles took a significant number of snaps as well, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Meanwhile, neither Matt Barkley nor Dennis Dixon took first-team snaps, with the snap distribution between Vick and Foles estimated at 50/50 by coach Chip Kelly. It would still be an upset if Foles were to win the Eagles' starting QB job over Vick, but as Kelly noted Monday, "it's May 13 and we've got a long ways to go before we ever set a depth chart or do anything like that."

Foles believes that he's getting a fair shot to win the Eagles' starting QB job, CSN's Geoff Mosher reports.
Analysis: Foles also noted that he wouldn't be shocked if coach Chip Kelly didn't name a starting QB until shortly before Week 1. Still, despite Foles' comments, the consensus remains that veteran Michael Vick has the early advantage in the competition over both Foles and draftee Matt Barkley.

In light of Michael Vick's new contract with Philadelphia, Foles is less likely to start for the team in 2013.
Analysis: There still figures to be a quarterback competition in Philadelphia leading up to the regular season, but it's difficult to see Foles beating out Vick, who has far better physical tools for new coach Chip Kelly to work with in an offense that could ask its quarterback to run a fair amount.

Foles finished the 2012 season with 1,699 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions passing (60.8 percent completed, 6.4 YPA) while running for 42 yards and a touchdown as a six-game starter.
Analysis: Foles showed the ability to beat up on weaker defenses and generally improved as time passed, but he'll likely head into 2013 with significant competition for the starting quarterback spot in Philadelphia. New coach Chip Kelly is known for his hurry-up offense that's primarily built out of quick-hitting plays loaded with misdirection, and it would add another element of trickery if the Eagles could find a better runner than Foles. With that said, Kelly is a creative coach who can work around most players' skill sets, so Foles' pocket passing nature won't preclude him from starting in 2013.

Nick Foles: Suffers Fractured Hand
Coach Andy Reid said that Foles' hand injury, a hairline fracture, will require a recovery of about three weeks, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: While it's obviously not the way Foles wanted his rookie season to end, there has to be some relief that his injury is relatively minor. With Foles unavailable, Michael Vick is in line to start Sunday's season-finale against the Giants.

Foles completed 32-of-48 passes for 345 yards with one touchdown and one interception Sunday against the Redskins. He also added 10 rushing yards on four carries, but lost a fumble.
Analysis: Foles eclipsed the 300-yard mark for the second time in the last three games, as the Eagles continued to air it out, despite the return of starting running back LeSean McCoy. Foles had the Eagles in position for a late touchdown, but he was called for intentional grounding with less than 10 seconds left in the game and the subsequent penalty ended the contest. Up next in Week 17 is a matchup against a Giants' defense that has struggled to slow opposing passing games this season.

Michael Vick: I must accept my backup role 'like a man'
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick knows Andy Reid won't be moving rookie Nick Foles out of the starting lineup for the remainder of the season. That makes Vick the most well-compensated backup quarterback on the planet.
Analysis: Turnovers, a lack of production and ultimately injury have led Vick to the bench -- a move fantasy owners made well before he was hurt. Foles has played relatively well in Vick's absence, but not well enough to become a fantasy commodity this late in the season.

Foles completed 16-of-33 passes for 182 yards with a touchdown and a pick in Thursday's loss to the Bengals. He also had two carries for five yards.
Analysis: Foles also fumbled once, which was one of five turnovers that the Eagles committed Thursday, which totally sunk their efforts to climb to 5-9. Next up for Foles in Week 16 are the Redskins, who are allowing 289.3 passing yards per game (only the Bucs, who Foles torched in Week 14, have allowed more) to go along a a league-high 27 passing TDs to date.

Eagles without three players on TNF
Quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy have been ruled out with the concussion symptoms that have kept them off the grid for weeks, the team announced Wednesday. The team will also go without tight end Brent Celek because of the concussion he suffered in Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. FULL REPORT
Analysis: Nick Foles and Bryce Brown will continue their lead roles against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. Though the Bengals allow plenty of yardage through the air, they are tied for the third-fewest (14) passing scores allowed. Against the run, however, the unit is tied with the seventh-most (11) touchdowns allowed.

Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy return to Eagles practice
Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy were back at practice Tuesday after passing their concussion tests the previous day, but their availability for Thursday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals remains uncertain.
Analysis: Nick Foles has been named the starter for the remainder of the season, which pretty much rules out Vick. It also seems unlikely that McCoy will see any action during a short week, so you can start Bryce Brown with a high degree of certainty.

Foles completed 32-of-51 passes for 381 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Buccaneers. He also had three carries for 27 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
Analysis: A monster game for the rookie signal caller, who threw a touchdown to Jeremy Maclin as time expired to win the game for the Eagles. Foles connected with eight different receivers and still managed the large yardage total despite losing starting-tight end Brent Celek early to a concussion. Foles' 27 rushing yards and rushing touchdown were of a particular surprise to fantasy owners, after he hadn't rushed for a single yard in four games heading into Sunday's contest. A home game against the Bengals awaits in Week 15.

Nick Foles: Starting QB for Rest of Season
Head coach Andy Reid said Monday that Foles is the Eagles' starting quarterback for the rest of the season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: As long as Foles can stay healthy himself, it looks like Michael Vick may have taken his last snap for the Eagles. At 3-9, it's time for the team to continue to see what they have in Foles, a third-round pick back in April. Analysis: Foles had a decent game, but missed some open receivers at times. Michael Vick is still working his way back from a concussion, and it's uncertain if Vick will be back for the Eagles' Week 14 matchup against the Buccaneers. Foles will continue to take the Eagles' practice reps at QB on Thursday and is on track to start Sunday night's game against the Cowboys, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Michael Vick (concussion) did not pass his ImPACT test on Wednesday, which sets the stage for Foles to make his third straight start Sunday night. Foles' first two starts were less than stellar, with no TDs and two picks in consecutive losses, but he did show some potential during the preseason, so it would be premature to write him off, despite the so-so early returns. That said, he's not an especially high-percentage play in Week 13, especially with the Eagles having lost playmaking wideout DeSean Jackson for the season.

The Eagles coach confirmed that Vick has yet to pass the fourth and final stage of the league's concussion protocol, but we're not sure Foles wouldn't get the start anyway.
Analysis: The Eagles are in disarray all the way around and injuries to LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson aren't helping things. There was limited fantasy value on this roster anyway. Now, it's best to look elsewhere for help.

Nick Foles: In Line to Start Again
Foles is in line to make his second consecutive start Monday night against the Panthers, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: With Michael Vick still in Phase 1 in the league's protocol for returning from a concussion, Foles has been taking all of the Eagles' practice reps at QB, so while his Monday assignment has yet to be officially confirmed, it looks like he'll get a chance in Week 12 to bounce back from the struggles that he experienced this past weekend against the Redskins.

Analysis: A very tough game for Foles, who also fumbled three times, but got lucky enough to not lose any of them. It remains to be seen if he will be next in a series of Eagles' QBs to successfully step in for an injured starter, but assuming that Foles is behind center this weekend, his cause is helped by the fact that Redskins have allowed 301.7 passing yards per game (only two teams have allowed more) and a league-high 20 passing TDs to date.

The Nick Foles era is approaching, but after the game, Reid committed to Vick as his starting quarterback next week.
Analysis: Philadelphia's awful offensive line is making Vick even more of a liability for fantasy owners. Analysis: We'd argue that Vick has not played that poorly in his last two games. The Eagles' defense certainly was the bigger problem in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Analysis: Foles showed great poise in his first professional start in the absence of Michael Vick (ribs), bouncing back from an interception on his second attempt of the game to put up a very solid line. Overall, Foles has thoroughly impressed the coaching staff and his teammates alike during his first training camp, going 36-of-57 for 507 yards, six TDs, and two interceptions over three contests. Nick Foles: Could Earn Backup Role
With Mike Kafka (hand) out roughly three weeks, Foles will get a chance to earn the top backup spot at quarterback.

The Eagles selected Foles in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, 89th overall.
Analysis: Foles is a huge quarterback with a good arm who was productive for Arizona, but he's a strong contrast to Michael Vick as far as mobility goes. He's a luxury pick for a Philadelphia team with few needs, and one that the team with simultaneously groom as a backup and potential trade bait in the future.
