Analysis: Rodgers was decent when he ran the ball, rushing for 362 yards on 94 carries, but he was much better catching the ball out of the backfield, as he racked up 402 yards on 53 receptions, good for 7.6 yards per reception. He averaged 3.9 yards per carry, which was better than the 3.6 YPC that starter Michael Turner produced. Turner has one year left on his contract, but Rodgers looks like the back of the future.

Rodgers ran for 32 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's loss to the 49ers.

Analysis: Rodgers got the majority of the work after Michael Turner left with an ankle injury. Rodgers was targeted three times, but he didn't catch any of the balls thrown his way. He looks to be the running back of the future, but Michael Turner still has one year left on his contract. If the Falcons part way with the veteran this offseason, Rodgers could make a big impact in 2013.

Rodgers ran for 64 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.

Analysis: Rodgers also caught two balls for eight yards. He and Michael Turner combined for 162 yards on only 24 carries and averaged 6.75 yards per carry. The majority of Rodgers' yards came on a 45-yard scamper, but it was still one of the more effective games on the ground for the Falcons. They'll try for a repeat performance this coming Sunday against the 49ers in the NFC Championship.

Rodgers ran for 28 yards on five carries and caught eight balls for 50 yards in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.

Analysis: The Falcons didn't need to go all out against Tampa Bay, as Atlanta already had the NFC's top seed wrapped up, but Rodgers had arguably the best game. His 78 total yards were a team high, and he caught all eight balls thrown his way. Rodgers finished the regular season with 402 receiving yards and 362 rushing yards, and saw his role expand as the season went on. He'll try to help Matt Ryan get his first playoff win this postseason.

Rodgers ran for 14 yards on six carries in Saturday's win over the Lions.

Analysis: He also caught one ball for 11 yards. Rodgers could see increased work in Week 17, now that the Falcons have the top seed wrapped up, but he's an important piece in their offense and the Falcons wouldn't want him to get hurt because he got too much work. We'll see if head coach Mike Smith provides a gameplan for his starters and reserves leading up to the regular season finale.

Analysis: He also caught one ball for 14 yards. Rodgers was largely ineffective, but the Falcons had no trouble taking care of business against the Giants. Rodgers usually sees more targets out of the backfield, but Matt Ryan only looked his way once. He'll look to bounce back Week 16 against the Lions.

Rodgers was on the field for 30 offensive snaps against the Panthers, while Michael Turner was only on the field for 20 snaps, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis: The 30 offensive snaps represented 46 percent of the total snaps on the afternoon. Michael Turner accounted for 31 percent of the snaps, while Jason Snelling and Antone Smith combined for 25 percent. It's interesting to note that Rodgers is seeing more playing time than Turner, but this could have been more adjustment than game plan, as the Falcons fell behind early and needed to throw, which increased Rodgers' value. Turner got another goal-line touchdown, so he continues to cut into Rodgers' upside.

Turner scores, Rodgers leads in yardage

Michael Turner and teammate Jacquizz Rodgers totaled a combined 35 yards rushing against the Panthers on Sunday. Though Turner did find the end zone, the younger Rodgers was the more productive of the two, totaling 21 of the rushing yards and 43 more through the air. WATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Analysis: Turner continues to squeak by, but Rodgers has proven to be the more explosive player. While neither should be considered more than a flex play, Rodgers carries the most upside, especially for owners in keeper leagues.

Analysis: He also ran four times for 21 yards. The Falcons basically abandoned the run game after they fell behind early, as they ran the ball 11 times and threw it 49 times. Rodgers looked better than Michael Turner, but it was Turner who scored on a one-yard touchdown run.

Analysis: The Panthers have struggled against the run this season, allowing an average of 128 yards rushing per game and 10 touchdowns. Turner plays in the early game, so owners will have a chance to use other options if he is a scratch.

Panthers defense struggling vs. run

In his "Week 14 Predictions" report, Elliot Harrison notes "Carolina's pass defense is eighth in the NFL and has played relatively well. The run defense, however, is a problem. Analysis: In his Week 14 "Start 'Em, Sit 'Em" analysis, Michael Fabiano notes the Panthers defense has "allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to backs overall. Turner also put up 23.10 fantasy points against them back in Week 4."

Analysis: Rodgers averaged over five yards a carry, but Michael Turner also had a nice game, running for 83 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Rodgers and Turner will continue to split time and will keep limiting each other's value.

In his "TNF Preview" Gregg Rosenthal notes, "Rodgers can go outside the numbers and he can carry defenders on his back. He can make defenders miss, which Turner never does. Rodgers saw 31 offensive snaps against the Buccaneers while Michael Turner only saw 23 snaps, and the Falcons may be moving to a committee approach, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports

Analysis: "We feel like Jacquizz is a very viable option to carry the football and has done a nice job for us," said Falcons coach Mike Smith. Sunday's game was the first time this season Rodgers saw more snaps than Turner, but he may be in line for more work as he's looked like the more explosive back. Rodgers' value is increasing, and if the trend continues Thursday against the Saints he could be a hot commodity for the fantasy playoffs.

Despite seeing three fewer carries, Rodgers led all running backs with 49 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving. Both he and Michael Turner found the end zone against the Buccaneers, but Rodgers 79 total yards was far better than Turner's 30 yard total. WATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Analysis: Rodgers was the most effective back, but it remains to be seen if the Falcons will turn to him more in an effort to conserve the older Turner heading down the stretch.

Analysis: After one half of play, Rodgers has split touches evenly with Michael Turner (7 each), but Rodgers has done more with his workload. The back has totaled 33 yards rushing and a score compared to Turner's 20 yards.

Analysis: He was more effective catching the ball out of the backfield, as he hauled in five balls for 35 yards. He's worth a look in deep leagues, but Michael Turner continues to get the bulk of the work and the goal line carries.

Rodgers carried the ball three times for 29 yards Sunday against the Saints.

Analysis: He also caught four balls for 33 yards. Rodgers outgained Michael Turner, who only managed 15 yards on 13 carries. Rodgers looked like the better tailback Sunday and he may be in line for an increased role in the offense if Turner continues to struggle. He and the Falcons take on the Cardinals in Week 11.

Analysis: He also had three carries on the night, but tallied zero rushing yards. He had a great night catching the ball out of the backfield, but his upside is limited as Michael Turner received 20 carries. Rodgers is an interesting flex play, but he will continue to play second fiddle to Turner as long as the veteran stays healthy.

Analysis: After scoring in four of his first five games, Turner has failed to reach the end zone the last two weeks, totaling no more than 6.40 points in those contests. With Jacquizz Rodgers starting to surge, fantasy owners could see less production from the veteran in the coming weeks.

Rodgers ran for 60 yards on eight carries Sunday against the Eagles.

Analysis: He also caught five balls for 20 yards on the day. Rodgers led the Falcons in rushing yards, but he only got eight carries to 24 for Michael Turner. Rodgers would be a hot pickup if Turner ever went down, but the Falcons will continue to lean on the veteran while he's healthy, which limits Rodgers' value.

Rodgers has only gained 77 yards on his 31 carries (2.5 average) this season, but has contributed in the passing game with 15 receptions for 117 yards.

Analysis: Teams generally look for a third-down back who is elusive and explosive, but Rodgers provides only the former, limiting his ability to capitalize on open field even if he does make a defender miss. He still has some value thanks to his role on the team, but if he doesn't step it up the Falcons may turn more often to Jason Snelling, who has for a long time had the team's trust in passing situations. Rodgers is no more than an RB4 or RB5 stash in an ideal world.

Falcons' running game anemic in Week 6

Analysis: Jacquizz Rodgers performed even worse, notching -2 yards rushing, but did add 21 yards receiving. Don't read too much into the performance, as the Raiders had the benefit of the bye week to prepare for the matchup.

Analysis: Owners who stuck with the veteran are reaping the benefits. He is a dependable No. 2 or RB, but it remains to be seen if he can keep up this production for the long-haul. Stash Jacquizz Rodgers in case he wears down as the season progresses.

Rodgers rushed 10 times for 32 yards, and caught five balls for 35 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Chargers.

Analysis: Rodgers was effective in the passing game, but Michael Turner looked good as the feature back, running for 80 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Turner saw 14 carries to Rodgers' 10, so Turner will still hinder Rodgers' fantasy value going forward.

Analysis: He also caught one ball for six yards on the night. Rodgers has impressed this preaseason, and the Falcons want to use him in a variety of sets, so he'll see an increase in touches in 2012. His ceiling is limited with a healthy Michael Turner though.

The Falcons don't consider Rodgers a change of pace running back, rather they view him as an every down back, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis: That being said, Michael Turner will still see the majority of the carries. Unless Turner goes down with an injury or really struggles out of the gate, Rodgers' ceiling is limited.

Rodgers rushed four times for four yards in Friday's preseason game against the Dolphins.

Analysis: He also caught one ball for 18 yards. Rodgers has looked good this preseason, but his upside is limited as long as Michael Turner continues to get the bulk of the work.

Rodgers ran for 24 yards on four carries and had three receptions for 11 yards during the Falcons' preseason game Thursday night against the Bengals.

Analysis: Rodgers continues to make his case as an excellent change of pace back to the powerful Michael Turner. With Jason Snelling sitting the game out it appears that Rodgers hold on the No. 2 running back job got stronger although at this point nothing is set in stone for the diminutive back out of Oregon State.

Rodgers took nine carries for 33 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's preseason game against Baltimore.

Analysis: Rodgers started the preseason with a solid performance, but his impact in the passing game was minimal. We'd like to see more from Rodgers than the one catch for three yards that he put up Thursday, but Julio Jones and Roddy White dominated the passing game while Matt Ryan was in, and once Ryan came out the Falcons' offense was a complete disaster. Rodgers' touchdown came from only two yards out, but Michael Turner had already left the game at that point, so it really doesn't say much. He's probably behind both Turner and Jason Snelling when it comes to goal line carries.

The Falcons plan to get Rodgers the ball more in 2011 now that he has a full offseason program under his belt, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis: "What he was able to do with not having an offseason, we thought was really good for us and for him to step in and be able to contribute like he did [last season.]," running backs coach Gerald Brown said. "He's an explosive player and we'll try to get him the ball." Michael Turner will still be the workhorse for the Falcons this season, but Rodgers will likely see a few more touches a game than he did last season. Despite the encouraging news about increased touches, Rodgers would likely still be stuck in a committee situation with Jason Snelling even if Turner went down with an injury.
