Barth is planning on attending OTA's and possibly signing a long-term deal soon, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis: The Bucs' franchise designee has not signed his $2.645 million tender nor reached an agreement on a long-term deal yet. Barth set a franchise record by connecting on 26-of-28 field goal attempts last season (92.9 percent). He is believed to be seeking a long-term deal in excess of $3 million per year. He did not participate in the Bucs voluntary veteran minicamp prior to the NFL draft. Assuming the Bucs lock him up, Barth is a solid fantasy option due to his strong and accurate leg.

Barth, who was franchised by the Bucs on Monday, had a very strong 2011 season as he made 26-of-28 field goals and all 23 extra point attempts for 101 points.

Analysis: Barth is one of the better kickers in the league and was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing 2011 season for the Bucs. If the Bucs offense can turn things around in 2012, Barth could score more points making him a more valuable fantasy option at kicker.

The Buccaneers used their franchise tag on Barth on Monday, the team's official Twitter account reports.

Analysis: Barth made 26-of-28 field goals last year, including a 55-yarder. The tag allows Tampa to retain Barth's productivity without making a long-term commitment.
