Danny Amendola: Five-Year Deal With Pats
Amendola agreed to a five-year deal with New England on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Analysis: Amendola probably won't be quite as highly ranked on fantasy boards as Wes Welker has been in New England -- the latter has shown more durability than the former -- but Amendola will nonetheless be a top target in 2013, especially for PPR leagues. Amendola caught 351 yards in passes in the first four weeks of 2012 before injuries got in the way, but even with the injuries he still finished with 63 catches in 11 appearances.

With Wes Welker having signed with the Broncos, there is speculation that the Patriots may target Amendola in free agency.
Analysis: Another possibility is that the Patriots could bring Julian Edelman back to help fill the void created by Welker's departure, but Amendola's skills as a slot receiver could now be heavily on New England's radar.

Amendola is slated to test free agency, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The report speculates that Amendola's asking price may be too rich for the Rams, given the wideout's recent injury history, so there's a decent chance Amendola will be catching passes for a new team in 2013.

Amendola had four receptions for 27 yards in Week 17 and finished an injury-shortened year with a team-leading 63 receptions for 666 yards, with three touchdowns and two lost fumbles in 11 games.
Analysis: Amendola is one of the better slot receivers in the league, when healthy, and it's the health concerns that may dictate what the Rams do with the wideout as they move into the offseason and he moves into free agency. Our gut feeling is the club will give Amendola a fair, long-term offer, but they won't break the bank. Our other feeling is that some desperate team out there will do so. If he's back, he'll remain a health risk capable of racking up big fantasy numbers in PPR leagues while he has less upside in other formats.

Amendola had just five yards receiving on two receptions during the Rams win over Tampa Bay in Week 16.
Analysis: Amendola was targeted more than any other Ram receiver (seven), but could only come up with the two receptions and also had a fumble. Consider it just an off week for the club's most consistent receiver. The best news is that he didn't re-injure his heel and looks good to go for the season finale.

Bucs pose little resistance to WRs
In his Week 16 "Start 'Em, Sit 'Em" analysis, Michael Fabiano notes, "I'd keep him (Amendola) active in standard and PPR leagues against the Bucs, who have allowed the most fantasy points to wideouts at home." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Amendola returned from an injured heel with a vengeance last week, posting 58 yards, one score and 13.80 fantasy points.

Amendola was absent from the Rams' injury report Wednesday.
Analysis: It looks like Amendola escaped Sunday's loss to the Vikings unscathed, providing little uncertainty about his availability for this Sunday's tilt in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers have one of the worst pass defenses in the league this season, making Amendola a worthy start given his high percentage of targets.

Amendola (foot) caught six passes on 12 targets for 58 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Vikings. He was also on the receiving end of a successful two-point conversion.
Analysis: The touchdown was Amendola's first since Week 4 despite a heavy dose of targets throughout the season, when he's been healthy. That's been his issue all along but he seems to be well enough now and he's facing a great matchup in Week 16 against a Bucs' defense that is ranked dead last against the pass this year.

Danny Amendola: (Foot) Active Sunday
Amendola (foot) is active for Sunday's game against Minnesota.

The speedy slot receiver continues to try and come back from a bruised heel/foot injury he suffered Nov. 18 against the Jets. Analysis: Amendola was unable to practice this week and was listed as doubtful, but he will surprisingly take the field this week. Amendola has seen 23 targets over the last two weeks, so even if he's still a little gimpy, he's worth getting in the lineup - especially in PPR leagues.

Analysis: Amendola appeared to be in pain and was grabbing at the previously injured area after the long run on Sunday, but he told reporters that despite being sore on Monday he felt good. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Rams keep him out, as they have a Week 9 bye, which would give Amendola two extra weeks to heal.

Amendola practices again
For the second consecutive day, wide receiver Danny Amendola got some work, returning from a separated shoulder he suffered during the Rams' 17-3 Week 5 win over the Arizona Cardinals. FULL REPORT
Analysis: Team sources have told NFL.com and NFL Network's Albert Breer that Amendola is unlikely to suit up Sunday, although his practice bodes well for a return after the Rams' bye week. Hopefully he will be back to full-strength to help fantasy owners make a playoff push.

Amendola (shoulder) said he was 100 percent sure he'd be back in the lineup after the Rams' bye week, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Amendola, who is practicing on a limited basis, is doubtful to play in Week 8 against the Patriots but when the club returns to the field on Nov. 11 to play San Francisco it sounds like, barring any major setbacks, the productive slot receiver will be back on the field.

Danny Amendola: Making Progress
Though Amendola (separated SC joint) caught some passes in individual drills Wednesday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes that there is no way he will play Sunday against the Patriots in London.
Analysis: The Rams will be on bye once they return to the U.S. and the report adds that it's plausible that Amendola will be in the lineup once the team returns to action on November 11. Those who can afford to stash Amendola for a couple of weeks would do well to scoop him up now, as we'd expect him to rack up plenty of targets down the fantasy stretch run, barring any setbacks.

Amendola back in action early
Danny Amendola returned to practice with the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday, just three weeks after suffering a serious shoulder injury that threatened to keep him off the field until late in the season. FULL INJURY ROUNDUP
Analysis: Rams coach Jeff Fisher said the receiver was limited in drills, but even that progress is surprising. It might be another few weeks before he's fully back in action, but if he's available on the wire you should stash him for the long-run.

Danny Amendola returns to St. Louis Rams practice
Danny Amendola was back at practice with the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday, just three weeks after a serious shoulder injury that threatened to keep him off the field until late in the season.
Analysis: Amendola won't be on the field soon, but he might be slightly ahead of schedule in his recovery. If you stashed him, good for you. If he's available and you have the roster space, now might be the time to squirrel him away.

Danny Amendola: (Shoulder) Returns To Practice
Amendola (shoulder) returned to a limited practice Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports.
Analysis: Amendola, who dislocated his shoulder back on Oct. 4, is ahead of schedule in his recovery process. He was projected to miss six-to-seven weeks with the injury, but is already practicing after just three weeks, albeit on a limited basis. He'll need to get back into game shape and make it through practices without setbacks, but this is a great first step.

Danny Amendola: Could Return In One Month
Amendola (shoulder) could be back in as early as one month's time, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Amendola did in fact suffer a dislocation of the SC joint but did not suffer any ligament damage or broken bones. The Rams' medical staff was able to put the joint back in place immediately and cleanly which should make for a quicker recovery time. While it's been reported that Amendola will be out 6-to-7 weeks the Post-Dispatch is reporting that he could return as soon as four, as it's all about how quickly Amendola naturally heals. It should be interesting to see how soon and how hard the scrappy slot receiver tries to get back on the field and what kind of push-back he gets from the Rams' training staff and coaches.

Amendola to miss significant time
NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Friday that Amendola suffered a "shoulder separation where the collarbone meets the chest," according to a source who has spoken with the player. Amendola is expected to miss six to seven weeks. FULL REPORT
Analysis: Brandon Gibson should become Sam Bradford's top target in Amendola's absence, especially in the red zone. Gibson is second on the team with 13 catches, compared to Amendola's 32 this season, and he is tied with 2 TDs. Still, he will be a matchup play in fantasy land, trusted best as a No. 3 WR.

Danny Amendola: (Clavicle) Expected to Miss 6-7 Weeks
Amendola is expected to miss about six-to-seven weeks with a dislocated clavicle, Adam Caplan of XM-Sirius reports.
Analysis: Assuming that timetable holds up, then Amendola could actually be a lineup option during the fantasy stretch run, though holding on to him in the hope of that being the case is problematic for those operating in leagues with short benches.

Amendola to have shoulder examined
Sources familiar with the situation told Flanagan after the game that the Rams fear Amendola, who was seen with his right arm in a sling, broke his collarbone. Amendola will have a CT scan on Friday morning.
Analysis: Even if it's not a broken collarbone, Amendola could be out of action for a significant amount of time. Brandon Gibson is next in line as the Rams' top target, but he's not yet worthy of starting in most fantasy leagues.

Amendola is slated to undergo additional testing on his right shoulder Friday in order to determine the extent of the injury that he suffered Thursday, which had been reported as a broken collarbone, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Apparently, initial tests to determine whether Amendola suffered a broken collarbone were inconclusive. In any case, Rams GM Les Snead noted that the team won't have a full handle on Amendola's diagnosis until Friday. Snead added that Amendola's clavicle doesn't appear to be broken and also that he expects the team's productive wideout to be able to play again this season. We'll provide further specifics as the Rams do.

Analysis: Amendola is eighth in the NFL with 351 receiving yards through four games, though his numbers are inflated by his 15-catch, 160-yards effort in Week 2. Still, he's a nice option in PPR formats, having caught at least five passes in all four of his games thus far.

Amendola had 160 yards receiving and one touchdown on 15 receptions during the Rams win over Washington in Week 2.
Analysis: Amendola had a ridiculous 16 targets on Sunday so the Rams clearly saw a major flaw in Washington's defense they could exploit with the diminutive slot receiver. We think this game is an aberration...to a point. Amendola isn't likely to see 16 targets on a weekly basis and the yardage was ridiculous. However, he should routinely see the most targets on the Rams every week and it should make for consistent yardage. If he's still available in your league go scoop him up...now!

Amendola is being proclaimed by some to be the ultimate fantasy sleeper heading into the 2012 season, the Bleacher Report reports.
Analysis: Amendola has proven to be a reliable source of catches, if not yards, when he's been healthy. With an improved offensive line and several new receivers around him capable of stretching the field, we can't necessarily disagree with the idea that Amendola could have a career year in 2012. However, if the last several years have shown us anything with the Rams it's that results hardly ever meet expectations. We'd definitely keep Amendola on our list, but we think 75-to-80 receptions and 900 yards may be a bit overzealous. Additionally you can't overlook the fact that the guy is small is likely to take a ton of licks going over the middle. Bottom line, don't reach too soon or you may well regret it.

Amendola has proclaimed himself 100 percent healthy as he heads into the Rams' formal offseason conditioning program, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Amendola suffered a dislocated elbow and damaged his triceps during the club's 2011 opener against Philadelphia. Additional damage to his triceps during rehab led to his being placed on the IR on Oct. 10. "I've got range of motion and full strength back," said Amendola. "I'll continue to work on the little stuff, just to get finely tuned. But mostly it's all the way back." That's good news for the Rams who lack any big-time playmakers in their receiving corp. Before his injury Amendola was one of Sam Bradford's favorite targets out of the slot and he is expected to resume that role for the club in 2012 with a very good chance at leading the Rams in receptions if he can stay healthy.
