Jennings finished 2012 with 101 carries for 283 yards and two touchdowns, and added 19 receptions for 130 yards in 10 games before landing on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Analysis: Jennings was largely unimpressive through his 10 games with Jacksonville, including six starts, as the fourth-year running back averaged just 2.8 yards per carry. The Jags have an interesting decision to make at running back, with Jennings set to become an unrestricted free agent and Maurice Jones-Drew, who held out heading into 2012, entering the final year of his contract and coming off foot surgery.

Analysis: Jennings is expected to get the start, if not by default, Sunday against the Bills. Maurice Jones-Drew is doubtful to play at all Sunday after missing the past give games with a foot injury, and Jalen Parmele, who started the past two games, was placed on the IR Monday with a groin injury. Jennings has been a big disappointment this year, averaging an incredibly bad 2.8 yards per carry, but at least he faces a Buffalo defense that has been vulnerable (though better lately) this year against the run.

Rashad Jennings: Likely To Start This Week
With Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) a long shot to play this week and Jalen Parmele (groin) landing on IR, Jennings is in line to be the Jaguars' starting running back in Week 13.
Analysis: Jennings has gone from backup to starter to backup already this season, but he will likely get another chance to start thanks to the attrition in the Jaguars' backfield. Jennings is averaging only 2.8 yards per carry this season, but he'll get a bump in value with the expected increase in carries, and another one facing the Bills, who have allowed the most rushing touchdowns and second-most yards on the ground this season.

Jennings rushed 16 times for 43 yards and one touchdown Sunday against the Titans.
Analysis: Jalen Parmele saw the start but suffered a leg injury early in the game. Parmele returned only to leave again in the fourth quarter. While Jennings got the score, Parmele averaged 5.6 yards per carry (eight touches for 45 yards) compared with Jennings' 2.7 YPC. If Parmele is healthy and Jones-Drew remains sidelined with a foot injury, it's likely that Jennings will be relegated to a back-up role again Week 13.

Jennings had three carries for minus one yard Sunday against the Texans.
Analysis: Jennings' early performance was so bad that the Jaguars decided to let Jalen Parmele take over the running back duties to the tune of 24 carries for 80 yards. While Maurice Jones-Drew remains out with an injury, it appears that the Jaguars' backfield no longer belongs to Jennings.

Jennings rushed 11 times for 27 yards and added no receptions during Thursday night's loss to Indianapolis.
Analysis: Jennings had a favorable match-up going against the fairly porous Colts run defense, but was unable to get anything going on the ground. In his last three games, Jennings has run totals of 59 yards, 45 yards and 27 yards, and is averaging a measly 3.0 yards per carry this season. He's also found the end zone just once on the ground. He'll be the feature back in Jacksonville until Maurice Jones-Drew is ready to return from a foot injury, but it wouldn't be surprising to see backup Jalen Parmele start to cut into Jennings' carries. With the formidable Texans defense up next for Jacksonville, Jennings is a low-percentage Week 11 play if MJD doesn't suit up.

Coach Mike Mularkey says Jennings' teammate Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) is out for Thursday's game against the Colts, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Analysis: Jennings has proven not to be equal parts MJD substitute or anywhere close to it, as he's rushed for 45 and 59 yards in the last two games, when he failed to hit even 3.8 yards per carry. He does get a decent matchup this week against the Colts, while it's worth noting that Mularkey is calling Jones-Drew questionable for the Jags' following game.

Analysis: Jennings hasn't been able to reach the fantasy levels that Maurice Jones-Drew was at, before going down with his injury. His 3.8 YPC Sunday were his best since taking over as the starter and it's tough to see him breaking out with the way the Jaguars' offense continues to struggle.

Lions defense provides mixed bag for Jennings
In his Week 9 "Like/Dislike" analysis, fantasy expert Adam Rank notes, "Rashad Jennings is the biggest predicament this week. The Lions had been tough on fantasy running backs this year. But the Lions have allowed 130 rushing yards in back-to-back games, and more than 100 rushing yards in six of their last seven road games." FULL LIKE/DISLIKE ANALYSIS
Analysis: With Maurice Jones-Drew out of the picture, Jennings has posted totals of 16 and 9 fantasy points the last two weeks. The big question here is if the passing offense can muster up enough of a threat to keep this defense from keying on the running back? Temper expectations if forced to start him this week.

Jennings rushed 17 times for 59 yards and added six receptions for 56 yards with one lost fumble, during Sunday's 24-15 loss to Green Bay.
Analysis: Jennings handled 17 of the team's 19 carries Sunday, so there's little question about how the Jags plan to handle the running game going forward. Running room wasn't always easy to come by for Jennings, but he was integral in the passing game and that could become a major factor with Blaine Gabbert's propensity to check down frequently.

Rashad Jennings: Knee Issue Not Thought to be Major
Referring to the knee injury that Jennings suffered Sunday, coach Mike Mularkey said "I don't think it's serious," the Florida Times-Union reports. Jennings carried eight times for 31 yards prior to being shut down for the day Sunday.
Analysis: Jennings' injury derailed any momentum that he may have gained while subbing for Maurice Jones-Drew during his holdout and opened the door for Jones-Drew to carry the ball 19 times in Sunday's season opener. While MJD figures to be eased back in this week, it won't be long before Jennings resumes his role as the team's clear-cut No. 2 back. Even though Maurice Jones-Drew has finally decided to end his holdout, the Jaguars are still expected to start Jennings in Week 1 against the Vikings, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Analysis: How fit and sharp Jones-Drew looks upon his return to the field will likely determine how quickly he is re-introduced into the offense, but at least for one week, we'd expect him to defer to Jennings. Jones-Drew's lengthy holdout obviously affected his preseason preparation, but as long as he was able to maintain his conditioning, he's pretty much plug-and-play. Once Jones-Drew is deemed totally up to speed, Jennings will defer to him, but once that happens Jennings will still retain value as a valuable insurance policy.

Rashad Jennings: Expected To Be Week 1 Starter
Coach Mike Mularkey said Monday that he expects Jennings to start the Jags' season opener at running back, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Analysis: Mularkey hasn't totally closed the door on Maurice Jones-Drew being the Jags' Week 1 starter, but the clock is ticking here and MJD needs to get back soon in order to regain his normal role without any sort of transitional phase.

Jennings ran 13 times for 57 yards during Thursday's preseason tune-up in Baltimore.
Analysis: Jennings' YPC (4.4) took a nose dive against the staunch Ravens defense Thursday, but the key for the Jags is that he emerged healthy.

Jones-Drew seeking trade
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew reportedly wants a trade from the team. The news comes in response to Jags owner Shad Khan's statement that "the train is leaving the station," when speaking about the UCLA product.
Analysis: Jones-Drew currently has an ADP of 13.80, which slates him to be selected in the second round of fantasy drafts. Given his early round value, owners who select the veteran will need ensure they draft Rashard Jennings as his handcuff.

Rashad Jennings: Still Looking Strong
Jennings continued his push to prove he can be a feature back, rushing 11 times for 62 yards (5.6 YPC) and adding one catch for five yards during Friday's preseason win over the Saints.
Analysis: The Jacksonville offense has been firing on all cylinders this preseason, and Jennings is no exception. He continues to produce and looks like a safe bet to dig into MJD's carries if and when last season's rushing champion does return.

Jennings picked up where he left off during practice, rushing 12 times for 56 yards (4.7 YPC) during Friday's preseason opener against the Giants.
Analysis: Jennings ran well Friday night, as he has all offseason. While he's certainly not Maurice Jones-Drew, it's looking more and more like the Jaguars running game won't suffer a serious drop-off even when MJD returns, and Jennings is making a big push to pilfer a significant number of carries from last season's rushing champion.

Jennings impressed at the Jags' Friday night scrimmage, finishing with three catches for 37 yards and four carries for 20 yards on the first scoring drive of the evening against the first-team defense.
Analysis: The Jaguars offense looked much improved, writes Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union, even without MJD and Justin Blackmon. Jennings has looked the part of a starting back throughout training camp and Friday's performance during the scrimmage did little to help MJD's position as he continues to holdout. Even if MJD does return (and it's still expected that he will), he should see a significant drop in carries if Jennings continues to build on his career 5.4 YPC.

Maurice Jones-Drew digs in
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew did not show up for the Jacksonville Jaguars first day of training camp, and is expected to holdout until his contractual demands are met. With owner Shad Khan seemingly unwilling to negotiate a new contract, the two sides could be headed for a lengthy dispute.
Analysis: With memories of Chris Johnson's 2011 campaign still fresh in everyone's mind, this will be a situation to keep tabs on. For fantasy owners no phased by the news, Rashad Jennings becomes a must-handcuff.

Jennings "responded well" to being forced into the starting lineup according to Jaguars' head coach Mike Mularkey, the Florida Times Union reports.
Analysis: Mularkey's praise of Jennings (who has recovered from the knee injury that slowed him last season) is to be expected with Maurice Jones-Drew holding out at the moment, but Mularkey may really mean it. Of course, working with the first team in training camp and playing 50 snaps in a game are two entirely different things, but Jennings (career 5.4 ypc) looks like one of the better handcuffs right now. Even if/when Jones-Drew returns, his balky knees are cause for concern, and owners who draft "Pocket Hercules" may want to target Jennings later on.

Jennings isn't talking about Maurice Jones-Drew's holdout from mandatory minicamp, telling Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union that "I put on my mouthpiece, and shut up and work."
Analysis: Jennings, however, could stand to be a huge beneficiary of MJD's unhappiness with his current contract. Though he spent the 2011 season on IR after suffering a knee injury, reports indicated he was able to play as early as Week 7 and the health of his knee isn't of concern heading into 2012. The Jags like what they have in Jennings and his 5.4 career YPC suggests he's capable of an expanded workload in MJD's absence. That said, should Jones-Drew's holdout extend into Week 1, it's unlikely the team would head into the regular season with Jennings as its feature back.

Rashad Jennings: Impresses Jags Coach
Jennings (knee) has impressed Jags' coach Mike Mularkey with starter Maurice Jones-Drew not attending OTAs due to a contract dispute, according to the Florida Times-Union.
Analysis: Jennings spent all of last year on the IR, but could be thrust into a huge spot this year if MJD ends up holding out for any amount of time.
