At this point, Garcon seems likely to avoid surgery on the second toe of his right foot, the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The report adds that Garcon is line to continue to receive treatments designed to strengthen the toe and the area around it. If Garcon progresses as hoped, then the expectation is that the wideout will avoid offseason surgery and be at full strength to start the 2013 season.

Pierre Garcon: Hopes to Avoid Surgery
Garcon is going to seek additional opinions on his foot before deciding what to do this offseason, the Washington Post reports. Garcon missed six games with the injury this year. He returned and played through the pain in the final seven games. He wants to avoid surgery.
Analysis: The team won the final seven games after Garcon came back. He caught 44 passes for 633 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games (two of those 10 were cut short). He is an important part of the offense and should put up better stats in 2013 when healthy.

Analysis: Garcon is continually listed on the injury report with a foot injury and still manages to post fantasy-friendly numbers. Over the last four games, he's recorded 26 receptions (on 41 targets) for 343 yards and two touchdowns. Owners shouldn't worry about his status too much for Sunday night's showdown against Dallas.

Analysis: Garcon did not haul in a touchdown nor a reception of greater than 20 yards in Week 15, but he accomplished both in the previous three games. Garcon (foot) caught six passes on 12 targets for 65 yards Sunday against the Browns.
Analysis: Despite a new quarterback under center (Kirk Cousins in for the injured Robert Griffin), Garcon was still the most active wideout, finishing with double the number of targets as the next highest receiver (Santana Moss, six). Unfortunately for fantasy owners who have ridden Garcon's three-game touchdown streak, it ended Sunday at a very inopportune time.

Pierre Garcon: (Foot) Active Sunday
Garcon (foot) is active for Sunday's game against Cleveland.
Analysis: Week 15 presents a couple of challenges for Garcon. To begin with, he'll be catching passes from Kirk Cousins, who is making his first NFL start in place of Robert Griffin. Moreover, Garcon will likely be covered Sunday by the capable Joe Haden. That said, Cousins needs to throw to someone, and Garcon (who has been targeted 20 times over his last two contests) has scored in three straight games, so he can't be written off, in spite of the hurdles before him.

Analysis: Garcon will continue to tough it out through his foot issue, though admittedly not at 100 percent. As long as he can avoid any in-game setbacks Monday, Garcon should continue to see his share of targets on the heels of his four-catch, 86-yard effort on Thanksgiving.

Though Garcon is on track to suit up Monday against the Giants, his sore foot remains an issue, the Washington Post reports. "You never know because he's not 100-percent healthy," offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan noted of how effective he expects Garcon to be on a week-to-week basis going forward. "So when he does feel good and stuff, you guys can see it. I think everyone can see it. He's a big-time player. That's what we hope to get. And when he's not fully going, I still think him out there helps us."
Analysis: Garcon caught five passes for 93 yards and a 59-yard TD in his last outing, which is highly encouraging, but that solid effort does not signify that his foot issue is a thing of the past. Going forward, look for Garcon to continue to tough it out through his foot injury, though his continued effectiveness obviously hinges on him not suffering any setbacks either in practice or in-game.

Garcon (foot) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, the Redskins' official website reports.
Analysis: Garcon's status for Monday's game against the Giants was never in doubt, but fantasy owners have to be happy to see him get in a full practice for the first time in nearly two months. Garcon was a limited participant all of last week and ended up playing, finishing with four receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown in a 38-31 win over the Cowboys. It's evident that Garcon is Robert Griffin III's most dangerous weapon when healthy, and the two appear to have strong chemistry. The foot injury has limited Garcon to five games and 21 targets this year but he's made the most of those opportunities, hauling in 15 passes for an average of 16.3 yards per catch and 11.6 yards per target.

Garcon has tear in foot
A foot specialist diagnosed Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon with a plantar plate tear in his right foot on Wednesday, the Washington Times reported. Garcon remains a week-to-week decision to play. FULL REPORT
Analysis: Considering Garcon is not likely to play this week and has a bye in Week 10, stashing him on your bench for the playoffs could be a luxury owners can't afford. If you're still in the middle of the pack, pick up a player who can score you points instead of waiting on Garcon's potential.

Pierre Garcon: May Need Foot Surgery
The plantar plate tear in Garcon's right foot could require surgery, the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: While surgery is not necessarily imminent, it's clear that the injury doesn't allow Garcon to play at full speed, so it's a possibility. While surgery is something Garcon obviously hopes to avoid, or at least postpone, it's unclear when he might play again, with a course of rest presumably his best bet to avoid any foot procedures.

Garcon acknowledges that he has a plantar-plate tear in his foot, which thwarts his explosiveness and prevents him from running at full speed at this time, 106.7 THE FAN's Grant Paulsen reports.
Analysis: The bottom line here is that no timetable has been set for Garcon's return, though looking ahead at the team's schedule, earlier suggestions that the Redskins are thought to be leaning toward sitting him for the next two games (leading into their Week 10 bye) seem plausible.

Redskins WRs shuffle behind Garcon
Pierre Garcon is the unquestioned No. 1 WR for the Redskins, but the pecking order behind him will be among the camp stories to watch. During the team's first training camp practice, it was Josh Morgan who lined up opposite Garcon, with Santana Moss in the slot. Leonard Hankerson will be another player to watch, as he returns from an injury which limited him in 2011.
Analysis: Garcon is the most fantasy relevant, considered a No. 3 WR in drafts. If Morgan holds onto the starting gig opposite Garcon, fantasy owners might have to consider him over Moss as a decent flex/reserve player. Still, there are too many questions on what this offense will look like to make a decision any time soon.

Garcon, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent, recently turned down a five-year contract offer, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Colts are expected to release Peyton Manning rather than pay him a large bonus payment and rebuild, but it's not clear how the team plans to address its many high-profile free agents (including Reggie Wayne and Robert Mathis). Garcon had three receptions for 30 yards in Sunday's loss to Jacksonville. He also had one carry for 18 yards and returned four punts for 11 yards.
Analysis: Garcon scored four touchdowns in Curtis Painter's first two starts, but Painter has struggled since and Garcon's fantasy value has plummeted. The Colts may switch to Dan Orlovsky after Indy's bye week, but it doesn't appear that offers a significant upside to the passing game.

Garcon had three receptions for 22 yards in Sunday's loss to Atlanta. He also lost a yard on two punt returns.
Analysis: While Garcon is Curtis Painter's favorite target, it won't count for much if Painter continues to struggle as he has the past three weeks. After scoring four touchdowns and posting two 100-yard receiving games in Painter's first two starts, Garcon hasn't had a touchdown or more than 66 receiving yards in any of the past four games. Garcon was used on punt returns with Blair White hurt, so that could improve his fantasy value slightly if he continues in that role.
