Analysis: This was the third playoff game of Foster's career and he's crossed the 100-yard threshold all three times. The Texans' passing game was not spectacular, but effective enough to provide balance and Foster got good blocking up front from a unit that's sending three players to the Pro Bowl. The situation may be a little different next week when Houston travels to New England for a playoff game against the league's best offense. Handing the ball off to Foster 32 times may not be an option.

Analysis: A slow night, but Foster has proven consistent as they come, scoring in every game but one this season, and bumping his total to 16 on the year. He has an excellent shot to hit pay dirt again next week as his three game career line against Indy is 71 carries for 491 yards with five touchdowns and 13 catches for 88 yards.

Analysis: Foster's streak of rushing for at least 90 yards ended at five games but fantasy owners were pleased that he at least got into the end zone for the third time in two games. Backup Justin Forsett ended up with just as many carries as Foster, although that had more to do with the fact that the Texans controlled the game for most of the second half. Up next is a Patriots' defense that has been very good against the run this season.

Analysis: "He's OK," coach Gary Kubiak said Thursday. The important thing to note here is that both Foster and the Texans fully expect the running back to be able to play Sunday against the Dolphins, but this will still be a situation to monitor closely leading up to kickoff for both Foster and Ben Tate owners.

Foster rushed eight times for 32 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's preseason game against the Saints.

Analysis: Foster is cruising through camp this year and getting in the necessary work during preseason games. The most important thing is that he just remains healthy and gears up for another strong season.

Foster gained 46 yards on 10 carries in Saturday night's preseason win over San Francisco.

Analysis: The Texans offensive line had troubles early in the game and Foster was held in check until he ran for 24 yards on carry late in the first half.

Foster gained 11 yards on one carry and lost a fumble Saturday night in Houston's preseason win over Carolina.

Analysis: The fumble brought back memories of late last season when Foster put the ball on the floor three times in four games. He touches the ball often in the Texans' offense and can't be careless with his handle of the ball. He's safely the lead back in Houston's offense, but we recall Steve Slaton having a problem with fumbles and it opened the door for Foster back in 2010.

Sims-Walker working out with Texans

Lacking depth at wide receiver, the Houston Texans will have Mike Sims-Walker participate in their minicamp this week. CBS Sports radio 610am in Houston reports coach Gary Kubiak thought "he looks good," when talking about the veteran receiver.

Analysis: At this point it is just an extended workout for the former Jaguars receiver. If he does sign, there will still be little fantasy value in drafting him. As long as Andre Johnson and Arian Foster are around, there will be little extra to go around.

Arian Foster: Five-Year Deal With Texans

The Texans have signed Foster to a five-year contract, ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: Foster had been a candidate to be franchised, but the 25-year-old, who came into the league as an undrafted free agent, will be rewarded (contract details have yet to be released) for his fine production over the past two seasons as the Texans' starting running back. After racking up 1,616 rushing yards and 16 TDs in 2010, Foster recorded 1,224 rushing yards and 10 TDs in 13 games this past season. He also caught 53 passes for 617 yards. As with any long-term deal with a running back, there is risk -- namely in the form of injuries -- but Foster -- who has emerged as an elite back in both real and fantasy terms -- has certainly earned the raise and financial security that his new deal now affords him.

Arian Foster: (Foot) Will Skip Pro Bowl

Foster was selected to his second Pro Bowl, but won't play because of an injury to his foot, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis: There's nothing so far to indicate that this is a serious issue for Foster, who is slated to be a restricted free agent this offseason. The Texans would like to sign the running back to a long-term deal, but if they can't, they would tender him at the maximum value and would match any offer that he might receive from another team.

Foster rushed 27 times for 132 yards and a touchdown Sunday in Houston's loss to Baltimore in the playoffs.

Analysis: There's no blaming Foster for Houston's expulsion from the playoffs. He ran well against the Ravens and finished the playoffs with 385 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He'll return as the Texans lead back in 2012.

Arian Foster: Runs Through Bengals

Foster (knee) rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns Saturday in Houston's playoff win over Cincinnati.

Analysis: Foster was given Week 17 of the regular season off and the fresh legs were evident Saturday. His 42-yard burst in the fourth quarter clinched the win and now the Texans move on to play in Baltimore next weekend.

Foster (knee) is active for Saturday's game against Cincinnati.

Analysis: Foster had a down game against the Bengals earlier this year, but look for him to put forth respectable numbers Saturday after giving his legs a week of rest.

Arian Foster: (Knee) Probable For Saturday

Foster (knee) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Bengals, the Texans' official site reports.

Analysis: Foster should be fresh after being rested in Week 17. He could provide nice value in playoff drafts if the Texans are able to get past the Bengals on Saturday.

Foster (knee) was a full practice participant Thursday.

Analysis: Foster should be at or near full strength for Saturday's game against Cincinnati, especially after taking Week 17 off.

Arian Foster: Inactive Sunday

Foster is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans.

Analysis: He'll sit, with the Texans locked into the No. 3 playoff seed in the AFC. As a result, Ben Tate will start at running back for the Texans on Sunday.

Arian Foster: Texans Locked Into No. 3 Seed

Heading into Week 17, Foster and the Texans are locked into the No. 3 playoff seed in the AFC.

Analysis: Given the injury issues that Foster experienced earlier this season and the fact that the Texans playoff seeding is locked in, it's easy to imagine a scenario next week where Foster sits or is limited. His situation is a reminder for those owners still playing in Week 17 to be aware of what NFL teams are playing for and who might be rested, as a result.

Foster had 23 carries for 158 yards and a touchdown and added three catches for 16 yards Thursday against the Colts.

Analysis: It is safe to say that Foster owners that complained about the running back's early hamstring issues were handsomely rewarded in many leagues' fantasy championship week. It depends how the games Saturday shake out, but after the loss to the Colts it is possible the Texans could now be locked into their seeding heading into Week 17, making it likely the starters would not face the Titans. Regardless, Foster's play this season has kept him in the discussion for the first overall pick in fantasy drafts come 2012.

Foster carried the ball 16 times for 109 yards and a touchdown while catching five passes for another 58 yards in Houston's 28-13 loss to Carolina in Week 15 on Sunday. He also lost a fumble on the Texans' opening drive, leading to a Panthers touchdown.

Analysis: It was another strong performance from Foster, who passed the 1,000-yard mark for the season in the game. Unfortunately, the game is notable for the fumble, the third one he's lost in the past four weeks. Houston has been able to overcome turnovers, but not Sunday when rookie quarterback T.J. Yates looked every bit of the rookie that he is.

Foster was held to 41 yards on 15 carries and failed to score a touchdown for the first time in seven weeks in Houston's 20-19 win over Cincinnati.

Analysis: The Bengals played well on the defense in the first half and were opportunistic on offense, jumping out to a significant lead, which forced the Texans to go the air more than run the ball. That's typically not the Texans' M.O., so we're viewing Foster's reduced usage as a one-week anomaly. He's still a must-start.

Foster carried 31 times for 111 yards and a touchdown in Houston's win over Atlanta in Week 13 on Sunday.

Analysis: As we suspected, the Texans relied heavily on the ground game in order to take the heat off rookie T.J. Yates at quarterback. That should continue in the coming weeks, especially if the left hamstring injury Andre Johnson suffered Sunday requires him to miss some games going forward. Foster added another 41 yards on three catches.

Foster carried the ball 22 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Jacksonville. He also fumbled twice.

Analysis: Foster, who gained another 24 yards on seven pass receptions, now has found the end zone in five straight games.

Foster rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, and added four receptions for 102 yards with another score in Houston's 37-9 win over Tampa Bay in Week 10 on Sunday.

Analysis: Foster is blowing up as a receiver in 2011, having posted more than 100 receiving yards in three games this season while averaging a career-high 14.4 yards per catch. His touchdown reception Sunday went for 78 yards.
