Jackson face tough test Week 16
In his Week 16 "Start 'Em, Sit 'Em" analysis, Michael Fabiano notes, "while you likely can't bench him, Jackson owners should temper expectations against a Buccaneers defense that has been solid against the run all season." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Jackson has been hot, scoring double-digit fantasy points in four straight games and five of his last six.

Bradford a Week 16 sleeper
In his Week 16 "Like/Dislike" analysis, fantasy expert Adam Rank notes, "The Buccaneers have allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. In addition, they have allowed nine touchdown passes in three games." FULL LIKE/DISLIKE
Analysis: Sam Bradford has at least 13 fantasy points in four consecutive games and he's coming off a monster game against the Vikings last week. That said, he should be considered a sleeper and not a player to start over your "stud" quarterback.

Bradford has chance to shine
In his "Week 16 Predictions report", Elliot Harrison notes, "Sam Bradford has an opportunity to make something of his third season in the NFL over the next two weeks and secure his status as the St. Louis Rams' starting quarterback of the future. This week, Bradford should be able to exploit the worst secondary in the NFL, as least statistically speaking (4,517 gross yards and 27 touchdowns)." READ: WEEK 16 PREDICTIONS
Analysis: The Bucs have allowed no less than 29 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks their last two outings, so consider Bradford one of the better plays if you're in a bind.

Buccaneers worst vs. WRs
In his "Like/Dislike" analysis, Adam Rank notes, "The Bucs have allowed the most fantasy points to receivers this year." FULL LIKE/DISLIKE
Analysis: Marques Colston has fewer than 10 fantasy points in five consecutive games. He's had no touchdowns in five career home games against the Buccaneers. But the matchup is just too good.

Bucs still looking for answers vs. WRs
In his Week 15 "Start 'Em, Sit 'Em" analysis, Michael Fabiano notes the Buccaneers defense "has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers on the road this season." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Colston was hot earlier in the season, but he has averaged fewer than eight fantasy points over his last five games. He should rebound this week, though, as Colston faces a great matchup against one of the weakest secondaries.

Buccaneers tough on RBs
In his "Week 14 Predictions" report, Elliot Harrison notes, "The much-harassed Bucs secondary has allowed 52 pass plays of 20-plus yards -- the most in the NFC. But don't expect Bryce Brown to run wild, as Tampa's run defense is the best in the NFL (82.3 yards per game)." READ: WEEK 14 PREDICTIONS
Analysis: With LeSean McCoy not likely to play, the rookie’s involvement in the passing game and the fact he is the only viable weapon on this offense should still reap positive results for owners. Just don’t expect another 20 -plus point day from him.

Bucs stout vs. the run
In his Week 12 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em analysis, Michael Fabiano notes, "the Buccaneers have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs at home (12.62 PPG). Tampa Bay's run defense is among the 10 best in the NFL overall as well." FULL START 'EM, SIT 'EM
Analysis: Turner has alternated good and bad stat lines in each of his last four games, and he's due for a stinker if that trend continues. The matchup doesn't bode well for his prospects.

Newton struggling in passing game
In his "Week 11 Predictions" analysis, Elliot Harrison notes, "The Bucs' secondary has struggled, but Newton's accuracy issues and poor pass protection will keep him from capitalizing. Newton's completion percentage (57.2) ranks 29th in the NFL, and he hasn't made the kinds of big plays (like Freeman has) that can offset that low mark. Not to mention the fact that Carolina has been turning the ball over." FULL WEEK 11 PREDICTIONS
Analysis: As Adam Rank notes in his Week 11 "Like/Dislike" analysis, "Newton is good against them historically. Newton has five pass touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns in three career meetings with the Bucs."

Buccaneers defense predictable
The Buccaneers defense and special teams units added two more scores to their resume, blocking a punt for a touchdown to go with a pick-six by Leonard Johnson. WATCH HIGHLIGHTS
Analysis: The unit has scored double-digit fantasy points in three of their last five games. While they are serviceable on a weekly basis, consider them best used only when there is a great matchup.

Floyd, Chargers passing game a focus in Week 10
In his Week 10 "Like/Dislike" analysis, fantasy expert Adam Rank notes, "The Buccaneers have allowed the second-most yards to receivers and third-most fantasy points, so the matchup is sound." FULL LIKE/DISLIKE
Analysis: With Ryan Mathews struggling and the Bucs defense stout versus the run, Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates should be heavily involved this week, especially with Floyd trying to prove he is more that capable of filling Vincent Jackson's shoes in San Diego.

Buccaneers defense is polarizing
In his "Super Bowl Contenders" analysis, NFL.com's Bucky Brooks notes, "The Buccaneers also have an emerging defense that can stop the run; this squad can force opponents into wild shootouts, making them a dangerous team to face in a "one-and-done" scenario." READ: SUPER BOWL CONTENDERS
Analysis: Temper expectations if forced to start the Buccaneers defense against a Chargers offense which will seek to exploit the Bucs league-worst secondary which is allowing an average of 321 passing yards per game.

Buccaneers defense tough on running backs
As NFL.com's fantasy editor Marcas Grant notes in his "Week 9 Matchups" analysis, "Week 9 could once again bring disappointment for Darren McFadden owners." The Buccaneers are allowing an average of just 14.93 points per game to opposing runners this season. READ: WEEK 9 MATCHUPS BREAKDOWN
Analysis: Only Alfred Morris and Adrian Peterson have passed the 14 point threshold against the Bucs run defense. McFadden has scored more than 14 points just once this season, in Week 3 against the Steelers.

Talib traded to Patriots
Cornerback Aqib Talib has been traded to the New England Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday. READ: BREAKING NEWS
Analysis: With Talib gone and Eric Wright suffering an Achilles injury to go with a likely suspension, one of the league's worst secondaries just took another hit. Fantasy owners should eye matchups with this unit as must-starts for your wideouts moving forward.

Buccaneers get boost
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers annouced Thursday that the team has activated defensive end Da'Quan Bowers from the physically unable to perform list. Bowers, a 2011 first-round draft pick out of Clemson, should play in Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings, the team said. FULL STORY
Analysis: With the Vikings scoring an average of 23.9 points per game, there are better options for owners in a bind this week.

Loss of Talib could be factor in Week 7 success
In his "Rap Sheet Rankings," Ian Rapoport notes that for the Buccaneers defense, "three sacks and 12 tackles don't tell the story on Gerald McCoy, who has bounced back nicely from two injury-riddled years. But it's the intensity of the entire defense that might be tough for the Saints." FULL RAP SHEET RANKINGS
Analysis: Though the Bucs' defense certainly warrants consideration during the bye week, Brees and co. have had an extra week to prepare and know this defense and their weaknesses well. The loss of Aqib Talib doesn't help their cause.

Buccaneers defense will be tested Week 7
Around The League's Marc Sessler notes that Greg Schiano has "simplified the defense, and after wrapping 2011 dead last against the run, the Bucs are allowing just 3.2 yards per attempt in 2012." FULL STORY
Analysis: Despite the performance, don't trust too heavily in this defensive unit. The Bucs face New Orleans in Week 7, a team which is scoring an average of 28 points per game.

Talib suspended
Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib will serve a four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. He will begin serving the suspension starting with the Bucs' Week 6 matchup against the Chiefs.
Analysis: This is an extra blow to a Buccaneers defense which ranks last in the NFL against the pass, allowing an average of 345 passing yards per game.

Charles a must-start
In his Like/Dislike analysis, fantasy expert Adam Rank notes "Jamaal Charles is leading the NFL in rushing and he has a great matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I know there's a concern about his workload, (but) as long as he's on the field, he's starting for me." FULL LIKE/DISLIKE ANALYSIS
Analysis: Though the Buccaneers are only allowing an average of 73 rushing yards per game, they have allowed four rushing TDs this season. Consider Charles safest as a No. 2 RB this week.

Fantasy expert Adam Rank notes in his Week 6 sleepers report that "the Buccaneers have had at least two takeaways in three of their last four games, and the Chiefs have turned the ball over 19 times - most in the NFL." FULL SLEEPERS LIST
Analysis: For fantasy owners who have the Bears defensive unit on a bye, using the Buccaneers this week should provide a solid option.

Buccaneers defense plagued with injury
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright left the game against the Redskins with a head injury. FULL STORY
Analysis: After finishing among the top-six defenses the first three weeks, the Buccaneers took a step back with only two fantasy points in Week 4. The unit has lost several key players which could limit their fantasy potential moving forward.

Bucs look to pressure QBs
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense finished last season with just 23 sacks, fewest in the NFL. New head coach Greg Schiano has emphasized a desire to improve the team's wretched tackling while putting more pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Analysis: The Bucs didn't make too many changes in the way of personnel, so it's going to take some tweaks to the scheme or a big progression of talent before we consider them anything other than a last resort bye-week option.

Price traded to Chicago Bears
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded defensive tackle Brian Price to the Chicago Bears for an undisclosed draft pick on Thursday.
Analysis: Price has struggled with injuries recently, and does not warrant fantasy consideration in IDP leagues. A fresh start with the Bears could change that, but fantasy owners should not risk selecting him until he proves himself on the field.
